4 out of 5 eggsHandy Tablet

Pros: Prices was very reasonable... closeout sale, I think, but there is a Transport that I think is comparable or better. Bought one for me and one for a customer. We both really like the ease of use and the availability of the keyboard when we want to do more detailed typing. keyboard base as a stand is nice feature.

Cons: I do not use this for reading in bed... probably more information that you want to know;-) but it's really pretty heavy to hold up as a conventional tablet. I will sit in a chair or on the couch and use it on my lap or sitting at the table while I eat breakfast to read the news.

Other Thoughts: It's just narrow enough to thumb type when held in a vertical position. I also got it to use on my frequent long bike rides. I can work anywhere now that Gotoassist supports Android.

5 out of 5 eggswow!

Pros: I had an ASUS TF101 for over a year and loved it but carrying the sep keyboard got "old" fast. While the SL101 is a tad heavier, its wonderful, solid materials. The charging cord is much longer than the TF101 !

Cons: None yet. Newegg was fast, polite and ill se them again as well as recommend them. :)

5 out of 5 eggsI really like this tablet

Pros: I found this tablet very user friendly, and the attached keyboard a plus. I added a 16GB of memory. IT loads fairly fast. I upgraded it to the ice cream sandwich 4.0 and it works great. plus plays netflix nicely.

Cons: no cons as of yet.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Tablet

Pros: I got this unit for my wife. After checking out multiple tablets i decided on this one. This tablet is great in my opinion. It is snappy and very responsive to your touches. I recommend upgrading right away to 4.0 ICS. The screen is awesome, very bright and vivid colors and text. The battery life is good, with regular use such as surfing the web, pandora running reading PDF books or files my wife will use it for hours and still have plenty of battery life left for the next day. The design is quality as ASUS makes good !#@$. It feels strong, i dont know why people complain its heavy. Hello? its got a little slide out keyboard that mostly all other tablets dont, unless you buy additional keyboard docks that will make another tablet heavier than the Eee Pad Slider. If you cant handle 2LBs in your hands...i dont know then. The keyboard takes some getting use to but its a wonder to use when browsing and e-mails. I recommend using google chrome browser. I found that its a bit faster then stk

Cons: None as of yet. We have had it for almost a month now and its been working perfectly. I guess the charge cord could be a little longer and also the speakers could be a little louder but its not a big deal. The price is good, its not an ipad or a top of the line samsung but IMO it performs just as well.

Other Thoughts: Ohhh! i forgot to mention and ran out of space in the PRO's sections. But this tablet has a standard size USB 2.0 port! something that alot of tablets fail to have. The USB port makes it super easy to transfer files. If your in the market for a Tablet/Netbook this is the way to go!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought this unit two months ago to replace my old 17" laptop. It definitely does what I wanted it to do. It's light and the charger isn't huge like you see for laptops. The charger is smaller than an iPad charger. The battery life on this unit is amazing. I can use it for 5 straight hours of class, surfing the web, and Pandora and I will have plenty of battery life. The keyboard takes a little getting used to but it's quite efficient. I can easily take notes in class, and I use the Polaris Office along with Google Drive to organize my homework and things. I upgraded it right away to ICS 4.0.3 which looks and feels amazing. The gaming is fun as well. The speakers are sufficient but not extremely loud. The camera works well for Skype. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a lightweight unit that operates well in a school/business environment.

Cons: The cons are subtle. The very first thing I noticed was the way that the unit slides out of the tablet form into the keyboard. I feel that in a few months, it may not snap into form. It seems like the air piston(s) in the back will wear out. Also, the screen unlock button and the volume buttons are not exactly convenient to get to on the left hand bottom side. They're too close together. This doesn't matter very much to me but I thought I would make it known: The Tegra 2 processors tend to lag when playing certain high graphic games. I didn't buy this unit for gaming so it didn't concern me but some users may want the higher quality processors.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Item is snappy, responsive, sufficiently fast, and feels pretty solid. The craftsmanship isn't superb, but it is pretty darn good.

I updated to Android 4.0.3 right away (I read that Jelly Bean might not be far behind from the date this is posted) and hopefully it help smooth out performance. It doesn't seem to have any performance issues with Asus' minimal skinning.

The battery life is also acceptable, I get roughly 6 - 8 hours of use. (Wi-Fi on, low brightness, GPS off, general browsing and games mostly)

The keyboard isn't fantastic (I seem to miss a space about 40% of the time) but it feels okay. The more I use the keyboard, the better it seems to be. I think it needs to be "worn in". Perhaps it's muscle memory.

The unit is portable. The weight isn't any issue for me, I normally use it at school and I leave it in my backpack.

Teh slider mechanism also feels nice and smooth, it certainly won't break.

LCD is okay, good angles, good color.

Cons: The chrome trim peice seems a little cheap. The unit also feels a little plasticky, And the back case seems to have a bit of an odd shape. I don't have any issues keeping a hold of the tablet, though.

The rubber grommets/feet also seem like they aren't going to last long.

There aren't many accessories available for this unit, compared to the iPad or TF-101.

The front glass is a fingerprint magnet, but can be easily cleaned. The slider mechanism also collects finger prints.

Terrible, terrible cameras, and "stupid" camera software (meaning terrible ISO control). Photos are okay in bright light, forget low-light conditions.

The speaker(s?) are absolutely awful, they work, but that's about it. I'm not sure if there are two speakers (there seems to be two speaker grills). But headphones are fine. Again, I didn't buy it for such features.

No cutting-edge hardware to speak of.

Other Thoughts: It's not an iPad, but for the $360 I paid for it, I'm not too upset with it. Android has a come long, long way since honeycomb 3.1, and I think it is actually useable now. I bought it to use at the lab at school and for taking short notes.

Don't let the cons get to you, this is a solid device. When I bought this, I was torn between the Transformer and the SL-101. I'm happy I bought the SL-101, not only because it's less bulk and I can effortlessly change from keyboard deployment to tablet mode, it's also a much more novel design. It's bound to turn heads, and it's certainly free of apples.

But I'm also not an app-junkie. If you like apps, this might not be the best option for you. But if you type a lot text, the keyboard is leaps and bounds ahead of using just the touchpad based keyboard.

If you aren't sure about which tablet to get, this is the most featured tablet on the market, and for what you get hardware-wise, this is the real deal.
