Pros: fast i7 core processor, mocha color is very elegant. the keyboard is exactly what i expected having dealt with asus products in the past. screen is bigger than it looked in the pictures, overall speed is very fast expected that with the i7, instant on feature starts the cpu in 2 seconds literally. audio sound internally is absolutely stunning, the external speakers are not very loud but they are clear! i have monitors plugged into these so that doesnt even register as a problem for me, but if you will be listening to music from these speakers only that could pose a problem! 500 gb hdd decent for this price range !!! i have an external hd with all my music on it so this did not factor any concerns what so ever. 4gb of ram, i will be upgrading that this weekend to 8gb.. so for this price this is an beautiful machine that met my quality standards in an amazing way !!! the feel and construction of this notebook is very sharp, the screen resolution is not 1080 but that is not a concern at all with me. this notebook met expectations and then some def worth the purchase. graphics card is solid intel hd 4000 , for the price this is nice!!
Cons: windows 8 everybody hates it i know.. but im use to it now, no backlit keyboard, not a big deal at all to me, some could find it as a problem. my main con is asus partitioned the hard drive into 2, one is 186 gb's and the other is 258 gb's i think im gonna delete the partition, but thats my only real con.. none of these are serious & im pleased with asus.
Other Thoughts: notebook stays cool, runs very quiet and is well built ASUS is a name that i will be buying often. i love their designs and technology!!!

Pros: First let me say i do not have this exact model, i have a few steps down(I5 3210M, 4GB Ram, 500GB hard drive). I have had this computer for nearly a year now, and its been running great. It accepts aftermarket ram easy, and a hard drive swap to a SSD makes a huge difference, as in booting to the start menu in 10 seconds(from a minute before). it is a great School computer, programming. It is easy to swap out your ram, HD and wireless card if you please. battery life is right around the 3 hour mark, i get 4 hours with a <1W SSD
Cons: Only thing i can find is that the keyboard is not exactly the best over the CD drive. It has a little bit of flex to it, so if you type hard, note this, it may become a issue in the future. the access panel is hard to take off for the first time.
Other Thoughts: Asus K55A-HI5014L is the model i have, though i added 8GB of ram, and a 250GB SSD, all of the models if they are a K55A have the same base components with minor changes.
