4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great performance with everything it has! I've owned this laptop since 2013 and had minimal problems. Was a great deal at the time I purchased this laptop.

Cons: I'm only giving 4 eggs because of the problems I had when I first received the laptop. After getting it back I've had no issues! But the problems I had was as follows; I received it with windows 8 installed when it was supposed to have win7. Also had an issue with the mainboard. But customer service was great! They paid for shipping and repaired the laptop fairly quick.

Other Thoughts: Since then I've been playing games and traveling with no issues! Looking to upgrade the hdd to a sdd as well as adding more ram. So far this laptop still is performing very well with every game I throw at it! Hoping this laptop will last for 2-3 more years.

5 out of 5 eggsChallenge, but well worth it.

Pros: Awesome laptop once all the kinks are worked out.

Very well worth the money.

Hard drive is partitioned a little funny, but I can get over that. 390/490.

Not a single dent, scratch, or hardware issue. Whoever did the initial factory reset kinda fudged, but other than that its pristine.

Cons: Not 1TB. 390/490 partition.

Took 13 hours of troubleshooting to get 3 problems fixed.

When originally taken out of the box I was getting notifications that I had a non genuine copy of Windows 7 installed. Found CD key under laptop, fixed that.

After first start-up there were no graphics drivers installed at all, couldn't be found under device manager. Couldn't install any from Nvidia or from Asus' support website, kept getting code 28.

Factory reset the laptop, had Windows 7 key already in the system and installed everything like it should have been from the beginning.

1 out of 5 eggsExtremely Disappointed

Pros: Well it would be a great computer.... if it would start up properly.

Cons: I purchased this only 5 months ago. Now the hard drive is failing and New Egg support "can do nothing". Save yourself the money and buy from elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: gaming laptop I have ever used. Btw if you want 3D, it is capable. I will try and update after a few months, just in case it is not robust (it is used after all).

Cons: missing rubber feet, it is used....but saved so much and bought a 2 year warranty

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop Worth B grade

Pros: It was packaged securely when I received it. After setting everything up and a bunch of updates, this thing is lightning fast. I would also like everyone to know the pictures don't do this thing justice. If you see one in person you will understand. It has an absolutely beautiful design. Since it is a B grade I looked for about 30 minutes to find my dent or scratch. Lucky for me it was a small mark on the top of the lid. This was only noticeable if you are looking for it. Everything else looks perfect. Definitely worth the discount!

Cons: Them main con is how it was shipped. It was on my porch when I got home from work and the laptop label showing what was in the box was clear for the world to see. It might not be in Neweggs hands if they can cover the label or not, but I would appreciate if the label was covered. Not a big deal at all however. Obviously I could mention the mark on the lid, but that's why I got it so cheap!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent laptop for the price

Pros: Excellent gaming laptop for the price, got it for 799 last blackfriday. Doesn't really lag in anything, using Razer Game Enhancer to close most of windows the only game I've yet to take down a notch was crysis 3 for the first level. Condition was excellent, and battery life is decent for a gaming laptop.

Cons: So far, lost one of the little rubber feet, and another that keeps the screen off the keyboard, no big deal there. It's impossible to find a case that fits this beast if you intend to move it.

Pros: nice laptop

Cons: did not come with 1tb hdd like the title says only came with a 300 gb

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Your computer should come with a 1TB hard drive. Have you contacted Newegg's support yet? I would suggest getting in contact with Newegg to check to see what options you have with the laptop. Should you need further assistance, please let me know. My email is

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Laptop

Pros: This is a gaming laptop, at a very discounted price.
This system is capable of running Path of Exile on high settings (currently the only game I am playing) with zero issues.
The bundled software is not very intrusive, and is extremely intuitive (I only use the power settings app)

Cons: Tiny scratch, less than a dime in length on the back.
Ha, that is not really a con, that is the reason this laptop was so discounted, I could not find anything else wrong with this laptop other than that extremely tiny blemish.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for the price!

Pros: You get a gaming laptop for a lower price! Specs are great, runs the latest games, Windows 7, looks nearly brand new. 1080P, NVidia GTX 660M, 8 GB DDR3 1600 RAM, etc. It has an extra HD bay and 2 DIMM slots for memory. I would recommend buying this only if you have a working knowledge of rebuilding computers and operating systems. It's a complete system but you never know what condition you're getting with a refurb.

Cons: It's grade B, but with that being said it looks nearly brand new with one minor scratch/dent on the front cover and the cap of the 'J' key is broken. Why wasn't that fixed ASUS?! I ordered an OEM key for $10 and will replace it myself. Comes with Win7 pre-installed on a 500 GB partition and a 400 GB logical partition. Why?! Why couldn't they install the OS on one maxed out partition???Note that it does NOT come with any Windows disks, restore disks, etc. It DOES have the product key on the bottom of the unit. Either set up a restore point or use this key with a Win 7 64 bit SP1 disk to reinstall if need be.

Other Thoughts: I installed another 1TB HD and created a RAID0 for 2 TB. I used the Product key and reinstalled the OS with a Windows 7 SP1 disk. All the drivers you will need are on the ASUS website. I would recommend downloading all of them to have a hard copy. When completed to you liking this is a great laptop! I can't tell that it was a Grade B refurb! Or even a grade A...
