5 out of 5 eggsGreat little laptop!

Pros: Super light weight
Fast
No lag time when playing games like MineCraft
Good keyboard feel when typing

Cons: No optical drive
No back lit keyboard

Other Thoughts: We purchased this laptop for my daughter's 12th birthday. & so far she loves it. We did remove a few of the unnecessary programs, but it did not come with a whole lot of bloatware on it. It came in pristine condition & looked like a brand new computer. Some reviews of this model say there's an issue with not being able to get a strong connection to wi-fi, but we have not experienced that. It's important to remember when you're buying a refurbished computer to do all the updates before trying to use it. It did take a while to do the Windows 7 updates because it was reset back to the original version of Windows 7, but once we updated everything & installed an antivirus software, all has run smoothly. My daughter loves how light weight it is & the screen size is just perfect for her, not too small or too big. This was a great value. Playing games seems to run down the battery down quicker of course, so she typically just keeps it plugged in when playing MineCraft. We are super happy with this purchase...We have Dell & HP laptops, so this is our first experience with ASUS. I'll update my review once we've had it for several months, but so far it's a great little laptop with no major cons. :)

4 out of 5 eggsBudget Friendly

Pros: Well worth $250 - $300 if you are not picky. Has enough power and graphics to browse the web and play flash games. I don't mind the lack of an optical drive as I can't recall the last time I needed one. There wasn't very many junk programs pre-installed. The touch pad is responsive. The included battery was in pretty good shape.

Cons: Keyboard feels flimsy, cheap. Plastic smudges and wears easy. The screen is way too reflective, it's like typing into a mirror. Only two USB ports.

Other Thoughts: This was a nice upgrade over my aging, single core Dell. I didn't want to spend much money and got this with a discount. I wouldn't spend more than $300 for this. Overall I'm satisfied with the bang for the buck I got. Just have realistic expectations.
