5 out of 5 eggsIs nice I like

Pros: Fast out of box haven't had problems running anything I throw at it. I do alot of online gaming and on the go it might be a little heavy/bulky but it runs my games like a desktop.

Cons: Windows 8 is a learning curve but after a week I come around to it.

1 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected

Pros: Was impressed with design changes over the G74

Cons: I consider any product that only works for less than 4 hours out of the box as DOA as was my case in this matter. I made this purchase to replace the G74 while it was being sent back to Asus for a new screen, now even that has been placed on hold due to Newegg's policies that they use slower than snail mail UPS methodes of shipping even though I as the customer paid for upgraded shipping to get this DOA computer from them. Let us not forget that this order was to include a game of my choosing yet it came with no game yet after confronted they gave the song and dance they ran out of the game offer yet they still run the same adda week later!

Other Thoughts: The one egg only is not just due to a DOA computer but also for NEWEGG's customer policies..... NEWEGG you are really close to loosing a very long term customer as I still have my business lic. for computers and after paying top dollar to the tune of 2,000 dollars and you think i am supposed to be happy sitting here more than 2 weeks waiting on the RMA to be completed and be happy about it... you may want to rethink things. You should know better than to advertise something you can not deliver NO LESS!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Plays DayZ and every other game I have thrown at it on high or ultra settings no noticeable downsides as of yet.
This thing runs super quiet and cool at all times. SSD HD makes things happen at the speed of thought (after the click of the mouse). Heard others talk about a sub-woofer issue when you plug some headphones in, but I haven't noticed any issues. This thing is beautiful!!! looks military grade!!!

Cons: I have some weird boot up issue when bringing the computer out of sleep when not plugged in. Read some stuff about it on the internet looks like an easy fix. The sound on this thing is decent but not great. Still it blows away any laptop I have ever had. It is a bit heavy and rather large but if you ar looking at this to get some gaming in and be portable but never really too far away from an outlet its no problem. Who really games on the battery anyway? Only problem with this computer is you will probably have to special order a backpack to transport it as it is big!

5 out of 5 eggsNew Owner

Pros: Vivid, crystal clear display. As someone who stares at a computer all day, I truly appreciate the easing of my eye-strain.

Cons: I haven't used Windows 8 before, and so far I am no fan. But eventually I will get used to in, probably just when Windows 9 comes out.

Other Thoughts: Very easy to set up and install Norton 360, and connect to my work. The response time blows the doors off my old laptop, as well as my work computer.

2 out of 5 eggsGood hardware, horrible support

Pros: Fast hardware. The speed of the proc, GPU and amount of RAM should keep this a solid machine for years. Keyboard is super high quality, which somehow even seems to improve typing speed. Intuitive design decisions like air circulation on the rear vents (cold in, hot out).

Cons: Battery issues from day 1. Battery life is VERY low on this monster, maybe about 1-2 hours of solid usage. You could probably eek a few more minutes out by lowering the screen brightness or capping the processor, but who wants to do that? Also, after testing my batter down to 9%, I plugged in and windows reported "Plugged in, battery not charging." And it didn't. for 6 hours. I did some google searching and found that others had the same issue. I also found where the Asus support person replied to their review about the same issue with an email address, so I reached out to him. BELIEVE THE HYPE ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE ASUS SUPPORT IS. So far the guy that answered my email has had the most innane and pointless suggestions for me to try to repair the issue. I was finally able to get the battery to charge by reseating it in place (this is after using it on batter for 2 hours, so it was seated properly in the first place) but I'd still like to get the issue permanently solved. The guy finally forwarded my thread, with the entire contents, to another Asus support person, who only asks, "What issue are you having with the battery charging?"... while the entire contents of our previous conversation was in the thread below his question. I can understand if the person had specific questions related the conversation, but nothing like that was asked... just wanted me to rewrite what was already in the thread he forwarded to me... silliness!

Other Thoughts: Some of the worst support in the industry... but if you are willing or able to do your own support, the hardware is solid (excluding the battery and power management system)
