4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Laptop but problem with charging port

Pros: Sleek and well though out design. Keyboard and screen are top notch. The sound and speakers are really great too. Windows 8 is well integrated and the laptop boots up really fast even after a year of use.

Cons: After a year and half the ac adapter was getting looser and looser. One day when I plugged it in I heard a snap. The laptop would no longer charge. I sent it out for repair and the ac adapter had snapped off the motherboard at the solder points. This is a problem with many newer laptops as I understand but it is really disappointing. My laptop is still out for repair right now as they think the motherboard also needs replacing.... May cost me over 400$ in the end.

5 out of 5 eggsSecond Review - Unboxing and Initial Use

Pros: Being an Infrastructure Engineer that has been in IT for 10 years now I set a reasonable but pretty high bar for all hardware and software I purchase. Yes I do purchase software don't roll your eyes at me! =]

As I stated in my first pre-review I had been researching laptops for the last 6-8 months prior to making this purchase on the wonderful Newegg site. By the way, I've been using Newegg since I build my first custom PC in 2001 and I immediately fell in love. This love affair continues today (i have the credit card payments to prove it =[)and will continue until the zombie Apocalypse or a meteor shower lands in my backyard. Plain and simple Newegg is second to none in their professionalism and customer service.

As I stated in my first review I had certain standards that the laptop must meet before I would entertain the possibility of purchasing it. This laptop met all of those standards and passed with flying colors. I have not run any benchmarks yet but so far I can tell you a few things I've noticed in the two hours I've been using it. First off, this processor is no joke! This is why one of my standards was it MUST have a quad core processor. You absolutely can tell the difference. The processor sets the baseline for how your laptop will function and if it is a wimpy dual core low voltage proc used to extend battery life, you are going to be left with something to be desired. Believe me when I say this laptop FLIES. Installing programs like butter, it is so responsive and never even flinches at whatever I've thrown at it. I love this processor and cant wait to push it further and really see what it can do.

Second is the screen is just absolutely gorgeous. Viewing angles galore, Bright, perfect colors no saturation, easy on the eyes. Just a beautiful screen all around.

Third is the build quality of this thing. From the second I took it out of the box I was impressed. Comparing it to the Lenovo Y500 I purchased and immediately returned to Lenovo and realizing how terrible the touch pad was, this laptop is as good as it gets aside from the Macbook Pro. Honestly I think this laptop was built just as good and with the specs I got I saved over a $1000 dollars. I have nothing against Apple by the way, in fact I will be purchasing a used Mac Book Air later this year from a friend of mine. But this laptop really can stand with the best laptops out there and in some cases beat the competition. You can really tell there was a lot of thought put into its construction, and most importantly for a 15 inch laptop with these hardcore specs, IT IS LIGHT!

Cons: When typing this review the cursor jump around a few times on me. I can not tell whether its me touching the touchpad accidentally or something else. But I'm in the midst of upgrading all the drivers and will tweat the touchpad settings and let you know whether it was just me or if there is a real issue.

Other Thoughts: I'm in love with this laptop and If you are on the market for an ultrabook with a set of coconuts, I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsFinally found what I've been looking for

Pros: Great deal on a high end laptop. I've been researching for at least 6 months and it was hard to find the perfect match that filled all my requirements. I was looking for a quad core processor, 2GB discreet graphics, SSD drive, and 1080P screen. Also I didn't want a heavy bulky laptop because I work in NYC and travel from foot to subway everyday. This laptop or should I say ultrabook fills all those requirements and more, and they throw in a Nexus 7 for free as well!

Cons: I would say it is a bit pricey but to get these specs in high end laptop like a Macbook Pro I would be spending 3000 dollars easy. Also being that the bundle comes with a subwoofer and Nexus 7 I can't complain.

Other Thoughts: I haven't received it yet but as soon as I do I will do a full review on this beast and honestly break down the pros and cons.
