2 out of 5 eggsDidnt last a year

Pros: Was fun while it worked

Cons: dies

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for the positive comment with the tablet. I apologize if the system failed to power on less than a year. Please verify if the USB cable and AC adapter are properly connected from the tablet to a working surge protector or AC outlet. Please try to disconnect the AC adapter and let the unit drain for 24 hours to reset and clear the memory. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter then power on the unit. If the problem persists, please press and hold the power button, repeat this process a couple of times, until you see an ASUS logo or a battery icon. If a battery icon shows up, let the battery charge fully before turning it on again. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3610066 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Regards,

Rodel

3 out of 5 eggsbetter than budget tablets

Pros: mostly vanilla android
clean layout
pretty fast & responsive

Cons: no bluetooth
no GPS
no LED
No rear camera
front camera is POOR quality
virtual buttons eat up screen space on some apps
Viewing angle isn't great
No HDMI
charges SLOW with a 750ma charger

Other Thoughts: I bought this at a boxbox store because i broke my droid and needed a replacement immediately. It's pretty good, but the lack of bluetooth hurts worst of all.

4 out of 5 eggsNice for Price

Pros: screen resolution is decent for size
fine for occasional music usage
Google search is decent
haven't had an issue with any app downloaded

Cons: no gps
sound is just tolerable but better than many phones
can't handle doing much else while downloading

Other Thoughts: Considering the price you can find this at and looking at other 7" tablets its a decent bargain form a good manufacturer .
My wife and daughter have both used it quite a bit. We are considering a second one for daughters business travel
as a cheap alternative to traveling with her laptop.
Just enough for checking emails , websurfing , music and games .

5 out of 5 eggsA good inexpensive tablet

Pros: Inexpensive, recognizable brand, good support

Cons: some screen glare

Other Thoughts: A good inexpensive tablet for basic tasks like email. Can be slow at times but it can be managed by not running too many things at once.

5 out of 5 eggs3 months so far, great beginer tablet

Pros: I bought this tablet a few months ago for my wife who was going to LPN school. she needed something to use as a reader and note taker, but was getting frustrated with even her EEEPC laptop. This worked out perfect for mer. I also like using it around the house. its a great little device that the whole family can use instead of being tied to the smaller phone screens. It makes a perfect ereader, and has even gotten to to start reading books and not just magazines like I normally do. Battery life is fantastic. I haven't tried much gaming on this table, I got a nice PC for that. Its also great for kids. My daughter started picking up on her ABCs real fast with some of of educational apps out there.

Cons: WHile I thought, and still think that the price is worth it, I don't like that there isn't a rear facing camera. Aside from that, this makes a perfect device for someone wanting to test out tablets.

Other Thoughts: What I have already said above. Great beginner tablet. I paid full price for it. At the new full price, its a fantastic deal. If you need a rear facing camera, skip it. Otherwise, this is a no-brainer.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome for the price

Pros: * Fast dual core CPU with 1GB of fast memory
* Jelly Bean android 4.1
* Good battery life
* Lots of root support at xda-developers.com

Cons: * Graphics performance is good enough for most apps but not good enough to play some 3d apps like need for speed.
* Screen black level is good but not great

Other Thoughts: Got this tablet for about 1/2 the price of the brand name 7" tablets.
The screen is relatively durable and scratch resistant, but probably not quite as good as a gorilla glass.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low price
Android app store & other app store compatible - not all apps compatible
Kindle reading compatible
Office readable but small screen is too small to produce docs.
Maps & Google earth compatible no gps but it gets close enough to be useful

Print app prints to my old non email laser printer

Cons: Takes a 2A charger (2 hr recharge.) Most USB ports are 1/2 that so extended time to recharge from PC. Non smart phone chargers are also 1A for slow charge times.
Biggest negative is android apps require free & unfettered snooping of whatever is in the tablet for install & operation. Big difference from the PC world.

Other Thoughts: Excellent price for performance, battery lasts way longer than anybody wants to look at small screen for either text or continuous movies. Small & handy will use for travel & Kindle reader.

5 out of 5 eggsHappily Surprised

Pros: Cheap
Play store available
Android Update available
Great size
Runs smooth

Cons: Regular Price for 150 get a nexus 7

Other Thoughts: No cons unless it broke out the box.
Its cheap the screen does the job
Its not as great as the NEXUS 7
But it was also half the price of the Nexus 7
For 150 i would buy the Nexus 7
