2 out of 5 eggsDon't buy Asus referbished items!

Pros: Works good. I use it every day. I take it on trips for navigation & entertainment. Download books, surf the internet, watch videos and much more.

Cons: The display stopped working a week before the warranty ran out. Asus fixed it under warranty. They were great. But my warranty has run out and I am expecting this or something else to go wrong. This time it would be out of warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsgreat at first

Pros: Great screen, excellent battery life, fast

Cons: touch screen quit working after a couple months

Other Thoughts: Do NOT buy refurbished ASUS products. Every one I've owned has failed shortly after warranty expiration.

2 out of 5 eggsGood at first

Pros: -Before it broke
It was a great tablet, ran smoothly plenty of space, and all the bonus features like keyboard and expandable memory were awesome.
Ran games nicely
4 hr life when listening to music
2 hr battery life when gaming

Cons: I owned the tablet for about 3 months, and had it just laying on my bed with the keyboard all shut, and left it for about 20 minutes. I come back and open it up and find a 3 inch crack in the left hand corner of it, and learn that the touch screen became disabled. This was very disheartening as the warranty was then up. However, the keyboard made it at least useable so I kept it.
I continued owning it for about another 6 months and another issue arises. The tablet starts randomly restarting about twice a day. This is extremely obnoxious.
To make it even worse, the wifi has gone into some kind of frozen nothingness. It says "Turning Wi-Fi on". I've restarted it, reset, attempted to update, but that's next to impossible.
All of these issues are also impossible to resolve because ASUS has no real repair offices and attempting to get repaired somewhere else it dumb, because I might as well buy a new one.
Well now all I've got is an oversized music player.

Other Thoughts: Its a good tablet, but be very gentle with it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am very sorry you have had a bad experience with your TF300 tablet. It is unfortunate that your tablet has a broken screen. I completely understand your frustration.

We do have a repair center you could send the tablet to have it serviced. There would be a cost for repair, but nevertheless, it is still an option.

If you are interested, please contact me, and we can set this up for you. My email is cl-mark@asus.com.

Thank you, and have a great day!

Regards,

Mark

4 out of 5 eggsHappy as of Now!

Pros: Its Android, Just easy to work with! Great graphics with Tegra 3

Cons: Battery life is around 4-5 hours without gaming. If running games like call of duty 4 zero hour, Battery last maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Has locked up twice since bought.

Other Thoughts: Overall happy with purchase. Not bad for under $250. Make sure you buy a Gumdrop case, best for this Tablet!

1 out of 5 eggsBe Wary of The Reburshed ASUS Product

Pros: One out of three of the tablets I purchased did not need to be returned.

Cons: Two out of the three tablets I purchased needed to be returned for repair.

Other Thoughts: I bought three of these as gifts. One of them worked without issue. It is a perfectly mid-level tablet and ASUS is very prompt with software updates for this tablet.

The first of the RMAs was a digitizer problem in which a two inch column of the screen was unusable and would not respond to touches. I submitted and RMA, sent in the tablet. They sent it back very quickly....with no repairs. The exact same two-inch column was unuseable. They requested that I send it again. I did. I have since received it and it now seems to be repaired.

The second RMA I sent was for a bad sound-card. Hisses, pops, squeaks, and squeals. Unusuable sound. I am now being told that it was "Customer Induced Damage" or "Out of warranty" (I don't know which and they apparently have difficulty explaining that to me - and the out of warranty claim is invalid anyway as it is within the 90-day period). The device has never been used. It was opened, determined to have a problem, and RMA'd. So, now that tablet is in limbo, with me having no idea when or if I will ever see it again.

In conclusion, I would recommend that one be wary of refurbished ASUS devices.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello JustinG,

I am very sorry that both your tablets gave you issues. If I may, I would like to help. Please send me the defective tablet's serial number. Once I have the serial number, I will be able to look into this case further.

Regards,

Mark
