2 out of 5 eggsManufacturer's support--- eh

Pros: Light-weight. Easy machine to operate and set- up.

Cons: ASUS support is California based, which means that if anything goes wrong, you ship it to California. This takes the machine out of commission for 7-9 business days--- ALOT of days without a machine.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I'm glad that you like the laptop because of its lightweight, easy to operate and setup. I apologize if you are not satisfied with the turnaround time for the warranty service. If I can be of further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3538029 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Rodel

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lightweight, Cheap

Cons: poor network speeds,sluggish

Other Thoughts: I bought this laptop for my wife she loves it, I believe that it is sluggish and has slow networking card. But for 320.00 dollars we are bother happy for with it. I would recommended it to someone needing a everyday lightweight laptop with a decent battery.

1 out of 5 eggsUseless space key

Pros: Computer ran great

Cons: As other people have said left finger prints on outside way too easily.

The space key was completely useless unless it was pressed in the perfect spot with the perfect amount of pressure. There was no way it could be used in any real way. Returned it the day I got it. Best part is Newegg claimed it was not defective on return. Total letdown all around especially from newegg.

Other Thoughts: Its laughable that they could find this not defective.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Laptop, Horrible Experience.

Pros: Amazing specifications, the i3 and Intel HD3000 graphics using the 4GB of DDR3 it comes with makes everything quick and responsive. I only bought this laptop to browse the internet and watch movies on while working out of state. I've owned much more expensive laptops and desktops than this, and I'm still satisfied with it's performance. This being said I bought it not expecting any great 3D or gaming experience, so I haven't bothered playing more than some CS:GO which it actually did just fine. The resolution is fine for a 15.6" screen as when it's at any reasonable viewing distance the display is sharp and bright. Color accuracy is fine, although with the three IPS displays I use at home I must say I have rather privileged eyes.
The keyboard doesn't bother me one bit, it's roomy and I have no problem using it. The trac-pad is great, the left and right pointers are a little bit lacking but still it's perfectly fine. Just get a small portable mouse if you're actually concerned with it.

Cons: The biggest con to this laptop, is Windows 8. Not the silly new layout and features. But the actual OS itself. A little over a week into my satisfied ownership the laptop is now a brick. It's been stuck at 15% configuring Windows updates. This is an issue caused by sound drivers that come installed. This is not specific to any one computer, it's very common. There is no way to go into safe mode etc. to stop this process. I now have to return the laptop.

Other Thoughts: Even though this is discontinued, if you find one used or bought one for a family member for the holidays. You've made a good decision buying this laptop. BUT quickly uninstall the sound drivers until this Windows Update gets pushed. Otherwise force the update yourself, and install updated sound drivers.

1 out of 5 eggsNot a good buy

Pros: cheap computer, screen is ok

Cons: Keyboardisterrible. KEYBOARD IS TERRIBLE!!! space bar needs to be pressed very hard to register. very frustrating. Will most likely return in the next few days if no fix is found. I have used many, many laptop and desktop keyboards before and this has never been an issue to me before, so it must be something wrong with the construction of the space bar of this laptop

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Junk

Pros: Cheap laptop, can run starcraft II ~90 FPS on low BUT DO NOT BUY BECAUSE IT IS A ABSOLUTE JUNK LAPTOP

Cons: It's a cheap laptop, and the construction definitely feels like it. Not only is it flimsy but it is EXTREMELY difficult to click the touchpad. In addition the space bar didn't work! Or when it did work I had to press down very hard and even then, it was hit or miss. Definitely returning for a refund. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS LAPTOP

1 out of 5 eggsRecalling my Last review

Pros: Piece of junk

Cons: bad wireless adapter, keep shutting itself down until i reboot the unit to get wireless back on. touch pad is nightmare. cheap keyboard keys, dont pop back up and hard to push down. system hangs up as well.

Other Thoughts: already sent back to asus 3rd time but issues increase time. i had main board and wireless lan replaced 2 times and still same issue. Ralink is piece of junk.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. The wireless device only support single-band, please verify if the wireless router is running with the latest firmware update. For the touchpad, check if the most current ATKACPI and touchpad drivers were installed. The keyboard is not touch-sensitive, it does require a bit of force or pressure to response accordingly. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3184352 on the subject line.

Rodel
