4 out of 5 eggsVery good!

Pros: The computer in itself is very fast. I bought it for my boyfriend back in September and he treats it like his baby. All the games he's run on it have been so smooth and lag free it's beautiful. It has played huge games with only small lag at the beginning, but it gets used to it very fast. Good with multitasking, since he likes to open 20 tabs on chrome and run them all night.

Cons: The only thing that really disappointed us with this purchase was the HDD space. It is advertised as being 750GB, but when we turned the computer on, we found otherwise. For some reason, there was the main C: drive and then also a D: drive, both with only around 250GB available, making it a total of 500 and not 750. Since he doesn't install much of anything besides games, it was negotiable and not worth returning. But it still would have been nice to know the 750 was there.

Other Thoughts: Really great computer overall, and I love stealing it from him to play the games my computer can't run whenever I can. For a refurbished computer, we were both really surprised it came as flawlessly as it did.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Computer - windows 8 TERRIBLE

Pros: Powerful i5 processor.
Good hd 4000 graphic.
Fantastic keyboard with the best layout.
Touchpad is big but the buttons are hard to press. I mean you need really to press in order to get the click done.
Screen is good.
HD is SLOW but for this money it’s ok. Buy SSD and external 2.5’ enclosure. The ssd will give you performance that you need.
Overall this is a good computer.
BE AWARE. There are no drivers for windows 7 or LINUX on ASUS site.

Cons: All cons are about windows 8. Windows 8 is a piece of _crap_.
The first thing: you will not be able create system image. An error accrues about low space and blabla. I found via google search the instructions how to fix the problem. I print it. It took 4(four) standard pages of explanations how to tweak the disk volumes and other staff just for create system Image. The interface is terrible. Just to find power off button It’s took me, actually I googled. The some strange actions are happening with the weather and others widgets. They pop up during the work and you cannot rid of them. The things that used to be in a control panel moved to the settings. Search is useless. You actually need to know the command name in order to find it. In order to do backup try to search “backup” 0 found. In order to find backup app you need to search “Recovery” What is that???
BE AWARE. There are no drivers for windows 7 or LINUX on ASUS site.
ASUS, what’s a problem to publish drivers for the windows 7 or LINUX. I refuse to understand it.

Other Thoughts: BUT this is a good deal for 400$

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mid-budget machine

Pros: Competitively priced
Illuminated keyboard
"Feels" Expensive
Touchpad can be clicked anywhere, has multi-fingered gestures
Relatively low-bloatware*

Cons: McAfee comes pre-installed
Windows 8
Touchpad software did not work out of the box - required re-installation and manual configuration (works great now!)
Battery life could be better (larger batteries in tablets these days)

Other Thoughts: Overall VERY satisfied. Fits my needs well. Good price.
