Did anyone else's computers' keyboard not light up? Mine does not seem to.

I recently just purchased one of these for little brother, the lights work fine however when powered on  the keyboard LED's don't light up until after he has logged into windows 8, there are also command keys that make the led backlight brighter and dimmer in combinarion with the function key (Fn) and its possible to turn the lights off with these commands. Maybe the led brightness is all the way down. The dent and scratch I got works like a new machine hopefully you got a fully functional one as well cause this laptop runs like a champ (a lot better than I expected actually). we are maxing out a lot of games on this, mostly at 720p.

I wish to purchase this laptop but how bad is the said scratch and dent? I'd still buy it with the damage.

I'd imagine it's different damage on each machine, but mine has a scratch below the keyboard on the left.  It's about three inches long but it took me a moment to find when I was first unboxing because the metal surface does a decent job of obscuring it.  There's also a peculiar "hump" on the left side of the keyboard, but it's almost unnoticeable.  The machine's performance is GREAT, especially when you can get unruly games to actually use the GeForce card instead of the on-board graphics, so it seems the damage is purely cosmetic, although my speakers do make a quiet "pop" when first getting power sent to them...they sound great though!

Can you show us pics of the laptop ? I want to see how much scratch and bent the system is before I buy it with in next month

I actually don't have possession of the laptop because I ordered it on my account for a friend, but I did initially take it out of the box and set it up for her and I can say that the only problem it had was a small mark on the back of the screen. It was so small that I hardly even noticed it. My friend loves the laptop and I was very impressed at how well it ran Skyrim and Battlefield 4. It also has great battery life. I would recommend buying it if you want a small gaming laptop with good battery life.
