5 out of 5 eggsHappy with purchase

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Bought this a few months back. It works well, and you can't beat the value. The design is good and it functions as it should. I have some issues with Android, but that has nothing to do with the hardware or the pad itself.

Cons: Android and the Chrome application are somewhat lacking. Also, recent change to Android o/s means that applications cannot be stored on SD card. Internal memory is plenty for now, but upgrading the memory is no longer possible, at least not for storing and running applications.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat basic android tablet

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: - affordable android tablet
- runs everyday games and apps without issues
- audio is surprisingly clear and clean, price considered
- hd video playback is smooth
- microsd expansion slot for added space
- light and sleek
- (when i bought mine) most affordable / practical 10" tablet
- decent camera (front and back), google hangouts runs great
- will work with any bluetooth keyboard if you need faster typing
- good battery life*

Cons: - microusb charge port seems flimsy
- no flash on either camera, although you probably aren't beefing up your photography portfolio with the tablet
- not too many cases and accessories available, although i was able to find a nice flip stand case
- power/volume buttons don't really 'click' and seem kind of flimsy

Other Thoughts: overall great tablet, especially for the price. if you're an avid app-gamer i'd probably go for something a little more powerful. but i'll tell you what i use it for, and tell you that i have no reason not to give this thing five stars.

- spend about an hour or two a day on average browsing the web
- manage torrents via transdroid
- flashcard apps and blackboard for school
- some educational apps, but not too many office like apps, although it natively can open pretty much any office file in one way or another
- some basic tablet gaming, mostly puzzle / word games that aren't too graphic-intensive
- thing is an amazing portable spotify / music player. the speakers are great, and you could bluetooth it to a stereo receiver or hook it up to speakers anyway
- video-chatting with google hangouts is fast and fun

* battery life - under normal use, ala internet browsing, for a few minutes a day does almost nothing to the battery. i charge it every two weeks or so unless i'm using more frequently or playing music. i should also note i turn the brightness way down.

so yea if the above list looks like what you want from a tablet, i'd say jump on this one.

3 out of 5 eggsMay not charge

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Lightweight, portable and has a good size screen. It's design is very clean looking and has decent sound quality. Easily upgraded with an external 32 gig micro SD.

Cons: Charging is very picky with mine. It takes over 12 hours and may still not be fully charged from above 20%. Even while charging, a lot of times it will say that it has insufficient voltage to charge so you left with a half charged Tablet after being plugged in for 15 + hours. We have a lot of products that use micro USB and have tried multiple cables and chargers with no change to charging time or insufficient voltage.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Joseph,

Thank you for the positive comment with the tablet. I certainly understand your concern regarding the charging related issue, which is an isolated case. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspection. ASUS provides warranty for the tablet to fix or repair isolated escape defect. Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Good while it lasts.

Cons: Although the tablet is good, its impossible to fix if you get a cracked screen. Asus has made it so that local companies and yourself can not purchase the parts for this tablet. Estimates from Asus themselves near 200(could nearly buy new for that). Bottom line, buy a galaxy or other tablet where parts can be obtained.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Eric,

I apologize of the inconvenience this may have caused you. ASUS doesn't warranty cracked screen. Regardless of the tablet's brand name, the screen is breakable if not handled with care. If I can be of further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3537293 on the subject line.

5 out of 5 eggsnice

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Fast tablet concerned about only having a duel core processor w/ a 10 inch screen and full hd but this has plenty of power. All the games ran good , camera is good at 5 mega pixel takes video at 720 even though it can display at 1200 but its great for the price I paid for it (250$) replaced my daughter's kindle fire w/ no complaints was looking at kindle hdx 8.9 chose this because it had rear camera , bigger screen, expendable memory and was about 100$ cheeper

Cons: I got a 32 gigabyte micro sd to expand memory but can't figure out how to transfer the apps I'm sure I can figure it out though

5 out of 5 eggsSolid mid-range tablet

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: Easily add 32GB micro SD for added data storage. Plug-in to an HDTV via micro HDMI. External flash drive suppport via micro USB - USB OTG (On The Go) worked great attaching 8 & 16 GB flash drives for added data sharing.
Unit feels light and easy to hold for long duration. Touch screen is very responsive and resolution is crystal clear.
GPS is nice, find the right app and is great for navigation. Battery life is great, easily lasts all day with moderate usage (gaming eats most of the battery life).

Cons: Some apps aren't compatible or don't work properly, but that is not the fault of the tablet itself.
Android updates not a frequent as Google Nexus products.

Other Thoughts: Screen is plenty bright for indoors, not recommended for outdoor use. Rear camera is decent, but not going to replace a good camera. No flash means you need decent light to get a good photo. Skype is pretty smooth, front facing camera is OK. Great for watching streaming or downloaded HD video. Sound is more than capable. Haven't tried Miracast or bluetooth to comment.
Find the right apps and you'll have ahard time putting this down.

5 out of 5 eggsI think it's an excellent tablet.

This review is from: ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 (ME302C-A1-WH) Intel Atom Z2560 2GB DDR2 Memory 16GB Flash 10.0" Touchscreen Tablet Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: OK... I admit that I have not had this very long, but I wanted to share my delight with it, and usually I judge products with little forgiveness. The tablet is very light and has a beautiful screen. I have found no problems with speed (some reviewers have criticized this). For example, I use a couple of free PDF readers that are plenty fast. The stock android browser on the unit is quite snappy, noticeably faster than Chrome but Chrome runs fine too. Regarding bloatware....Yes, there are a lot of apps preloaded by Asus but I would not call them burdensome. For a first time tablet owner, I think they are more of an asset than a liability. For an experienced user, no doubt you will want to remove and/or disable several of them. I've tested these features and they work well: Video streaming (netflix, awesome video quality), sound quality, headphones, wifi, and Bluetooth. Configured a gmail account and an exchange account with email and calendar, no problems. Have installed the Swype/nuance keyboard, and its speech recog works very well. Google play store works fine. Have encountered no system instability.

Cons: Basically none substantial.

Other Thoughts: For anybody who has used an Android device, this tablet will be immediate out of the box enjoyment (assuming that you don't get unlucky with a defective unit which can happen with any product). I feel differently from those who report that the tablet is too slow. Admittedly, you won't get the latest quadcore 2.4 ghz snapdragon performance, but I think that the tablet is plenty fast enough to delight.
