2 out of 5 eggsN56RJ-eh71

Pros: It is a fast processing PC. That's about it. Best practical use is web browsing and email. This is the only requirement that met my expectations.
The 1G wired networking is not the best but works as well as other PC brands.

Cons: Not a PC for anything more than email and web browsing.
Expectations set by ASUS and sales were all not supported, such as wifi 5G. WLAN is not a valid specification but a sales deceptive coined word.
HD was too slow, upgraded to SSD. No supported by ASUS and voids warranty.
WiFi is only 2.5Ghz capable. Upgrades are not supported by ASUS, and if trying to upgrade, the wifi antenna does not support 5Ghz nor AC configurations.
Only expectation this PC met is email and web browsing. All other applications that require high processing have mixed success. Difficult to priortize services to allow more "real time" processing of high speed (greater than 80Mbs) streaming data.
Think long and hard before making a decision on this PC and any ASUS PC. They are not what they say they are.
Newegg doesn't support ASUS but defers to ASUS support, if you can contact Newegg after the sale.

Other Thoughts: Buy a Dell is the best recommendation and get more for the same price point. HP is also better choice, but they have problem with support and compatibility with standards, similar to ASUS.

4 out of 5 eggsRe: Graphics Card Problems

Pros: Good sounds quality, plays games at decent quality settings.

Cons: - I had the same issue Kyle W. reported. However, I was able to solve it by draining the laptop of all charge (battery removed, unplugged, power button held for a couple secs) and then reinstalling the drivers. Silly, but it worked and has been working fine since. This was an issue with a recent Nvidia driver, not the laptop itself.

- slow on boot. I'm definitely going to be upgrading this guy to an SSD. It also came partitioned weird (split right down the middle).

- Little bit heavy

Other Thoughts: Prepare to upgrade to an SSD at some point, but otherwise a solid laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY ASUS LAPTOP

Pros: *Lots of bells and whistles

Cons: GPU DOES NOT WORK - I have owned and utilized the laptop for almost 2 years now. Within the first 8-10 months I started seeing issues with my GPU. Games I would be able to run at max I now can only run at medium or low and bad lag. I then needed to do a system factory restore. When completed... my nvidia GPU would keep getting a Code (43) error and just not work. After trying almost every single method to get this working I am stuck with the realization that I just wasted over $1,000. Shame on ASUS for allowing something as big as this to occur and not post anything on their support site or anywhere about a fix, or how to make this right for the customers. I have always been a big fan of ASUS and this one incident is all it will take to get me to never by an ASUS product again.

2 out of 5 eggsvery disappointed

Pros: decent price
great looks
when it works its great

Cons: i had the laptop for 8 months then the laptops graphics card stopped working i have sent it in twice and both times all they did was wipe the computer and reinstall windows the first time it came back the graphics card still didnt work and the bluetooth also didnt work which worked when it left sent it back in and it came back literally the same so basically all this laptop is a 1000 dollar non gaming laptop that i bought specifically for games i would not recommend getting this laptop and probably will not return to asus who ive been a loyal customer to

1 out of 5 eggsThe worst laptop ever

Pros: Good design. And probably the only thing that is good about it

Cons: This is my not first Asus laptop. Unfortunately, this will be my last Asus laptop. This laptop has A LOT of PROBLEMS! Its exactly a year. I have been sending this laptop for repair at least 3 times. The problems never solved. First, making too much noises and sent for repair. Then laptop came back with dead spots. So I had to send it back again. Half a year later, the screen stopped working and got it replaced. Then other half a year, there are random dead spots that appeared. I AM SO SICK OF THE PROBLEMS! The reason I chose Asus because of the good reputations. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED at this laptop. It caused me SO MUCH TROUBLE AND STRESS ME OUT! It does not sound too much but every time when I send back my laptop, I have to wait for a week to get my laptop back. I will never buy Asus again because lack of customer support. Trust me, if you are looking for a new laptop, this is not a choice. Please find a manufacture that actually has stores near you. Too much burden!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsNot Too Bad

Pros: Works very well for browsing the interwebs, and playing online games! Sounds better than any laptop I've ever owned.

Cons: GPU crashes occasionally and the sub makes it a little less portable because there's really nowhere to set it when you're not at a desk.

Other Thoughts: I bought this without reading the reviews, so I didn't know about the graphics card issues before I got it. I didn't experience the issues though until after 8 months of using it for daily gaming. It's not terrible though, the performance outweighs the flaws in my opinion. I haven't found a game that couldn't be run at max settings yet... unless the GPU crashes and the IGP kicks in, then you'll be playing games with 10fps.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear G. Kelley,
I'm glad to know that the laptop works very well for web browsing and playing games online. I apologize if you are experiencing stability issue with the laptop anf the GPU crashing. In order to improve system stability and performance, please install all recommended WINDOWS Updates only before using the system. We recommend using a LAN connection to speed up the update process. If you are accessing web applications, please verify if the laptop is within range to an established wireless router and internet service is working properly. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N150126802 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

3 out of 5 eggsBroke within a year

Pros: Bought this for my girlfriend last year. Decent specs.

Cons: My girlfriend uses this mainly as a home PC for doing art with her Cintiq. She rarely brings it anywhere.

After a few months, we noticed some hiccups. At around 10 months, the monitor started to flicker intermittently.

At the end of month 11, the computer no longer boots properly. Sometimes it goes to the Windows loading screen, but it just mostly display a black screen.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I'm sorry to hear that the laptop failed to bootup within a year. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, and are build to last. A recent WINDOWS Update might have been installed unsuccessfully and corrupted the OS. Please try to restore the system to factory settings using a backup copy of the system image, that you have created, using an external USB device. If you need further technical assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N141249515 on the subject line.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY FOR GRAPHIC WORKS

Pros: Looks great on specs

Cons: This laptop is the worst purchase I have ever made. The GPU almost never works. Keeps crashing. When in Full Screen mode it keeps switching between IGP and Nvidia.
Drivers keep crashing since I first got it regardless of version.

Other Thoughts: For the last almost 20 I have used ASUS MOBOs and never had any problems. Also Asus laptops from user from the very beginning when they were just barebones. At the moment my 2 desktops are both ASUS MOBOs and GPU.
So apart from this HORRIBLE PRODUCT everything else is and was great.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

It's great to know that you have been an ASUS fan. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. If the system is unstable and keeps crashing, please run System Restore in order to revert the unit to the last known good configuration. After a successful System Restore, please install all recommended WINDOWS Update manually in the Control Panel, Windows Update. If the problem persists and you need further technical assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N141110871 on the subject line.

2 out of 5 eggsBroken in less than half a year

Pros: It worked semi-nicely before it broke, even though I had a bunch of issues with drivers and maya. That wasn't entirely the laptop's fault though

Cons: It broke in less than six months. Actually to be more precise, the hdd died completely. To be fair, it fell about 1.5 feet. The hdd died almost instantly. It was infuriating, to say the least. I've owned a few laptops and they've never broken this easily.

It could just be bad luck, but it's not the only problem I had with this thing. I couldn't turn off the optimus feature because that's impossible with how this laptop was built. The screen was awful, but considering how it's a laptop, I shouldn't have been that surprised. It's supposed to be a gaming laptop though, so you'd think they'd have made it a little bit better.

Other Thoughts: The best thing I can hope from this laptop at this point is a refund. It's been a considerate waste of time and money.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jun,

I apologize if you accidentally drop the laptop and broke the hardrive. ASUS doesn't provide warranty coverage for hardware that are customer induce damage but we do provide service for products that are out of of the warranty coverage at a cost. If you need further assistance sending it for service, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# xxxx on the subject line.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst purchase of my life!

Pros: Lots of great features - great price

Cons: Keys started falling off keyboard, keystrokes randomly fail to register with the computer

Other Thoughts: I send computer back to newegg for service but they failed to notice keys falling off laptop. I had to send back to Asus where they replaced the keyboard. Still having problem with keystrokes being recognised by laptop. Newegg refuses to look at computer again

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is an isolated case. If you are still having issues with the keyboard and need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N140946400 on the subject line.
