5 out of 5 eggsvery pleased with my purchase

Pros: very fast, great for playing games, arrived in perfect condition, looks brand new

Cons: windows 8 sucks ( but windows 7 laptops with good graphics cards are hard to find ) wish the graphics card was a little higher spec, but for the price, really can't complain. will easily play any 3d game decently for years to come.

Other Thoughts: was looking for a desktop replacement for an old sony laptop ( got 12 years out of the thing so I really can't complain!!) purchased this laptop for around $1000. ( now they are 899 but that's the price you pay with any technology), really can't complain about performance or the price.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty and works!

Pros: Fast
Cool design (Stays cool too!)
Big Screen

Cons: It has Windows 8

Other Thoughts: This lap top has been doing exactly what I want. I wanted to be able to play most games when away from my home desktop, it does just that. Has been used with Diablo 3 max graphics, and I'm certain it can be used for other things.

For some reason I wish the power chord was on the left or the back end though, I tend to have my mouse close to the right side and the chord doesn't get along from time to time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Desktop Replacement!

Pros: - Gaming and Photo Editing Power
- Screen (direct facing)
- Keyboard
- Cooling
- Look & Feel

The RoG series of laptops have been a favorite of mine for some time. This is the second one I have purchased and really love the machine. While my wife is the primary user of this laptop I have played some Diablo 3 & Heroes of the Storm on the machine and both run flawlessly. My older G7x machine had no issues sizing up to a 24" screen and I assume this one would not either.

While she is still adjusting to the size of the keyboard (coming from a 13" Mac) I will say the keys are very responsive and one of the better non-mechanical keyboards I have used. The backlighting is nice as well.

Overall, the computer just looks and feels tech. While some prefer the style of Alienware I have ALWAYS preferred the look of the Republic of Gamers machines since the debuted.

Cons: Size
Battery Life (3 hours, which is fine for what it is)
Side angle on screen
Sound

The battery life is what one would expect but I'll still state it as a negative as it is something to keep in mind. Looking at the screen from the side causes washout on the opposing screen side worse than either her Mac or my work laptop (Lenovo). With that said the only real negative are the speakers which I feel leave a lot to be desired. Not a major deal for most individuals I would guess who will be using headphones.

Other Thoughts: Windows 8 isn't the horror story I have heard from others. While I do prefer Vista (had a computer that could easily run it) and 7. Eight isn't horrible.

This laptop can have a SSD added later for your games. Big positive and I will be doing this when I buy mine (come on desktop die!)

Last thing: If you plan to travel at all with the laptop buy a bag from NewEgg that is confirmed to work with this machine. I did not do this for the 1st one I bought and it took awhile to find one at a retail outlet that could hold this monster.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst Buy

1 out of 5 eggsNever Buying From Asus Again...

Pros: Nice looking laptop
Quick...when it worked.

Cons: Started having problems right out of the box, laptop would slow down, graphics card was crashing every few seconds, made the entire machine unusable. Sent it back to Asus on 4/22 and they still have my machine as "waiting for parts", with customer support REFUSING to tell me what it wrong with my machine or what they're actually fixing. Never trusting Asus at Refurbishing or Quality Control along with Customer Support. Just a terrible experience.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for the positive comment you have provided to the laptop. I certainly understand your concern regarding the inconvenience the delay may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspection. We do value our customers and take negative customer service experience very seriously. 5 out of 5 eggsJust what I wanted, mostly.

Pros: Okay, to start mine looked brand new out of the box. No blemish or any signs of use which is a huge plus.

Not as much bloatware as I was expecting.

Price: if your lucky enough to get one properly refurbished.

An ASUS G750? Its just plain cool. Not to mention a little powerhouse.

Cons: Heard a something rattling in the unit. I'm assuming it is a tab from the back-plate that fell off during the refurbishing process. I don't really want to take the back-plate off either, because many people say that the tabs are easy to accidentally break off (design flaw). Only going to open it if I absolutely have to.

Biggest problem I am having is packet loss with the Broadcom wireless adapter. I can use the internet just fine but in games i start to jump around. I ran a test and i'm getting around 3% packet loss with this laptop which is unacceptable. Yes, I've installed latest drivers, adjusted power settings, ran a test on a separate computer.. If anything ill just replace the WiFi adapter for around 20$

Lastly, finding a case for this bad-boy will prove troublesome for most. Its very large.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm happy with the purchase and with the price (950$ with mail-in-rebate) its a steal; but, a gamble nonetheless.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus rocks

Pros: : It came out of the box screaming fast. I gave this computer to my son for college and fun. Every few days he tells me something new that he likes about this G75 series. I don't think you can go wrong with Asus refurbished products. I bought an Asus G75 refurbished last year for myself, both from Newegg. So far it's Two for Two.

Cons: none yet!

Other Thoughts: We have 10 Asus computers or tablets. Only one has gone back to the factory. Most have been purchased at Newegg!

1 out of 5 eggsDisapointed, Broken HDD Panel/Case

Pros: Looks nice, great feel to the material, similar to my old IBM Thinkpad T-30.

Because of the reasons stated under "Cons", I have not used the equipment further.

Cons: Whenever I buy new computer equipment, especially refurbished equipment, I perform a visual check of the hardware, open all panels, covers, bays, etc. Immediately upon pulling the laptop out of the protective sheath I noticed the HDD Panel/Case/Cover was popped out from where it should be firmly seated. I inspected it closer to discover to my absolute horror that the panel was being held closed by double sided foam tape! Concerned that there must be physical damage to the case and possible physical damage to the inside, I used a small plastic tool to gently loosen the tape around all the edges and remove the panel. ALL the clips that would have held the panel in place on the front (closest to the touch pad on the under side) had been broken off, and a few had been broken off in other areas. This is completely unacceptable! I need to have access to the bay, to both swap drives, add new or extra drives, and upgrade memory. This is a material defect, not cosmetic. Any refurbished device should not be sold unless it is clearly explained that the item is broken in a substantial way.

Other Thoughts: I have been an ambassador for Asus in the past, both purchasing them for the two previous companies I have worked for and family members. Unless this issue is resolved I am afraid Asus and Newegg will no longer be recommendations that I will make to my customers and to my family and friends.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Mr. King,

I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, these are isolated cases. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3676368 on the subject line.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's good hardware, price is a little steep for what it is but nothing outrageous. It's good for a gamer who isn't insane about being able to play the most current games at the best quality. A small example, it handles Skyrim, Mass Effect Series, Dragon Age and Civ5 quite easily. Civ5 will fry your gfx card though, any computer.

Cons: My only serious issue (which is the reason I'm planning to return this laptop) is that the screen flickers. And you should all know that that's a no no for the eyes and the brains and the what not. I went through and updated Windows, monitor drivers, video card drivers. I double checked and updated every conceivable visual software that I consider related yet the screen flickers ever so slightly.

Other Thoughts: Everything else is in good shape or acceptable for it being refurbished. I just wish I didn't have to send it back for what I think is a hardware issue.

I am an owner, just not the purchaser.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for the positive comment. I certainly understand your concern regarding the screen flickering. Please verify that no electronic device generating excessive electrical or RF noise is close to the system, this may cause flickering if the electrical noise is excessive. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3653240 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.
