2 out of 5 eggsGreat product.......What it's not in RMA

Pros: nVidia Tegra is great for pretty much anything you wanna do. Anything from gaming to video/photo editing. Good Storage space, able to use 128GB on SD expansion slot (really helps with my large files and to keep the tablet clear). A big plus for me is the wi-fi chip which is from Ubiquity. I love ubiquity products, excellent choice.

Cons: Constantly in RMA for my tablet because of a bad digitizer screen and my wife's tablet was working fine. 3 times to ASUS (3rd time they finally paid for shipping) to fix the digitizer, could swear they just cleaned it and sent it back. They're tech support and communication is horrible. My tablet is working fine now.....ish. I have a few digitizer issues with it, but its pretty rare now and if it does happen it's cause it's low on battery power.....normal. My wife's tablet had NO ISSUES until 2 weeks ago when we were leaving for new york for vacation and the literally the day before we leave town her tablet freeze on the splash screen.....bad or corrupted bootloader. Memory is bad cause the hard factory reset errors out with a bad bootloader. So I'm literally looking at the "Pay Now" button, debating whether to pay, or not to pay and get a different tablet. On their site they say "High Quality Sound". How when you have one speaker....in the back....on the right.....where you would hold it or where a case would cover it. Horrible place for a speaker, if you really want to put one speaker in it, put it on the front so you can at least hear it. <----that's be just being picky, half the time use headphones haha.

Android updates just stopped....no 5.0 or higher.....booooo on ASUS. Keep the new products updated with the new software.

Other Thoughts: I have always used ASUS products, but after this I may not go back. Simply because they charge you for EVERYTHING if the warranty is expired. A product that is loaded to the teeth should have more than a 1 year warranty, and honestly I think thats why they put a 1 year limit on it, because they know they built something that would eventually fail. Thats all speculation of course..

-I would say the product is excellent......when its not being repaired.
-I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a fun tablet, grab a samsung android or something with a big name behind it with a good reputation....ASUS has that, but not these tablets and not with their service.
-Last but not least....be careful what you buy from ASUS, if NEWEGG has an extended warranty available with ASUS products, BUY IT!!!!! Because ASUS will throw you under the bus if the warranty is expired.

Giving 2 stars for the features and thats it. If they come through and cover some of the cost for the current RMA I have now, I will put another 2 stars for customer service.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the price

Pros: It works well when it works.

Cons: I bought this tablet in December 2013, and I already have two repairs that were made. One on warranty at 6 months and one at 14 months at my exoense. So I don't recommend it.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not live up to my previous Asus products

Pros: Overall performance speed is good, app launch is quick. Runs most games with ease.

Cons: Lag in odd areas. Pressing power button to wake ranges from 2-10 seconds before the screen turns on. This changes each time I wake the device.

Speaker only on one side?! Makes for an uneven listening experience.

Battery. Not even close to what my Tf 101 still does after 3 years of use.

Weak wifi antenna.

Other Thoughts: So after many excellent years of use with a TF 101, at upgrade time, another TF was a no brainer to me. By far my biggest issue is battery life. It's taken off charge when I leave work, and only on standby, this thing is dead by around 2 in the morning. Now, 11 hours of standby might be asking a lot, but my almost 4 year old 101 achieved this on the day I got it, and still does today. In fact, it achieved close to 20 hours of standby. 7 hours or so with heavy use.

This 701 gives me 3 hours tops of heavy use. 10 maybe 11 hours if on standby the whole time with wifi off. This is simply completely sub par to so many other tablets out there. Sadly, I can no longer brag about an Asus tablets awesomeness.

Wifi range seems to have been reduced by around a 3rd of what the 101 could achieve.

Startup lag is annoying, but I could live with it if these other issues weren't such a prominent flaw.

Overall, really disappointing Asus. Get back in the game.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, easy to use, HDMI out and all of the features I was looking for.

Cons: Would like for the main camera to be higher MP for the price. Touch sensitivity could be better. Have to do firm taps to make it regiter a touch.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Light weight, good response time. So far no problems. Does what a tablet should do :)

Cons: The proprietary USB port is a bit sketchy so if you connect it to your computer to retrieve files, best to not touch the tablet during the process or the cable might come loose. Seems to have very slow USB transfer rate too.

Tablet cannot be reasonably charged off a computer USB port. While it will charge it slowly, it is a VERY slow process and it'll take days to get a full charge.

Other Thoughts: Heavy use in the last 9 months that I've had it, so far the unit is still in perfect condition. Sometimes encounter a graphics rendering glitch when playing PvZ2 but a simple reboot solves it (usually happens if the tablet hasn't been rebooted in over a week).

3 out of 5 eggsGood but Fragile

Pros: 2560 x 1600 screen, good audio, light.

Cons: The display is fragile. I dropped mine less than 2 feet and started a crack moving across the screen. It functioned fine until the crack reached the far side. when that happened it became impossible to control.

Other Thoughts: Buy a good impact resistant case that you can use with the tablet and you should be fine. I'm glad I bought the extended warranty.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am sorry to hear about the display on your TF701T cracking and becoming unresponsive. If you need further assistance regarding the factory warranty service, please email me at CL-Scott1@asus.com and write down service # N140732012 in the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this one

Pros: I have owned a couple of the ASUS tablets in the past and got this to replace my TF101. It has excellent resolution and speed, storage is adequate for most things and with a 64 gig sd card meets all my needs. It feels a tad heavier than the TF101 but that may just be me. However, build quality on this seems worse than previous models however and support from ASUS is non-existent. The screen does not feel evenly attached all the way around and has random lockup issues.

Cons: Service, service, service Have tried to contact ASUS about an issue where a large black spot develops on the screen occasionally and it locks up hard but never get a reply, and forget trying to call them, just a giant phone run-a-round.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for the lack of support from ASUS my rating might of been higher as it may be just my unit that wasn't quite right but being able to get support from ASUS will never know.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear John,

5 out of 5 eggsgreate tabklet

Pros: high resolution
responsive
got this on a sale so the price was also great
I have not had any of the issues the other reviewers complained of
overall I am very pleased with this tablet

Cons: the camera does not seem all that great, but this is not a deal breaker for me

3 out of 5 eggsfast tablet but with problems

Pros: fast tablet, nice display. faster processor and memory

Cons: Tablet has poor camera, it's only 5 mp with no flash. The tf700t has a 8mp camera with flash. front camera is 1.2, tf700t has a 2 mp. The screen is a lot dimmer than the tf700t model. hope future firmware updates fix the dim screen problem.

Other Thoughts: Asus really needs to work on build quality. The dock is junk and has a lot of problems.
