3 out of 5 eggsEh

Pros: Size, appearance, weight.

Cons: Laggy keyboard, very slow

Other Thoughts: My thoughts are complicated with regards to this laptop. I wanted to replace an old laptop I used for writing (and only writing) that was six years old because it was getting slow and the case was a bit cracked. The old laptop was a Dell I paid maybe $1,200 for and never had issues with, but like I said, it was old and I felt it was time to replace it.

I have medical issues with regards to how much weight I'm allowed to lift, and since my return to college I've found it difficult to take a laptop with me to take notes or even to fill the time during gaps in my schedule, but this laptop is small and lightweight enough that it fits in my (relatively small) messenger bag. Even the charger was small/light!

But here is where I have issues. This is the slowest laptop I've ever used, and this is my sixth laptop purchase since 2005. And by slow I mean...it's REALLY slow. The keyboard lags so hard that I can't even use it for what I bought it for, which was writing in Microsoft Word 2013. I have to practically smack each individual letter to get it to show up. As someone who types ~100wpm even with a medical problem with my hands/arms, I find this very disconcerting. I can't write a novel on a laptop where I'm constantly having to backspace to fix my mistakes. I only use it to write now when I hook it up to an external keyboard. I can't even take notes for class: for the first time in my life my slow handwriting is faster than typing something.

That said, it can barely stand to load Tumblr, and when making a new post on Tumblr, it lags to kingdom come--both the keyboard/typing/the site itself.

It's not a horrible computer by any stretch of the imagination. It boots up quickly, it looks nice, it's quiet, the battery lasts a nice amount of time, and the charger doesn't weigh much or take up a lot of space, which is convenient.

But it's so laggy and slow where it counts that I can't recommend it to anyone who wants to use it with any regularity. I'm honestly really disappointed with it. A shame, because the touch screen is nifty and the color is great, and it's the perfect weight to cart around. :/

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I apologize if you are experiencing slow performance and stability issue with the laptop. In order to improve system stability and performance, please install all recommended WINDOWS Updates and upgrade to WINDOWS 8.1 before using the system. We recommend using a LAN connection to speed up the update process. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N141140960 on the subject line.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat computer for the price!

Pros: Wide touchscreen, nice keyboard, holds charge well, light and portable, USB 3.0--a super upgrade from my old Asus 1001 netbook. I chose the white version because it's much easier to see the keyboard in dim light. Wish there were more notebooks in white!

Cons: Runs Windows 8.1 (fast) but not a nice UI so I change it to Classic Shell

Other Thoughts: This notebook fits my needs perfectly For $300- it's just what Ineed. I've got a powerful desktop, a Samsung Note 10.1 2014, a Samsung Note 8.0 2013, a Samsung Tab 7.0 4, but I find I am using this unit more than any other. t

5 out of 5 eggsAsus K200ma Notebook

Pros: I love the touchscreen... I almost didn't go with it but so very glad I did. It's easy to carry around... its the perfect size. And is suitable for all my needs! I blog a lot and am into social media. So that's typically all I do with this laptop. It's very convenient. And everything runs smooth and fast (I'm not a patient person)

Cons: As of now I really cant think of any cons. It really is the perfect laptop for me. But, I'm not a gamer nor do I need it for my profession.

3 out of 5 eggsHard drive issue and Bluetooth issues

Pros: Great touchscreen
Screen itself looks great
Big hard drive
Great looking computer

Cons: Mouse is a bit iffy
Like I said, hdd issues
Bluetooth issues as well
Very slow when multitasking

Other Thoughts: From the moment I got it out of the box I noticed a weird clicking sound coming from the hard drive. Soon after the computer just shut off. I don't plan on opening it up due to a void of the warranty. Once I got it back up and running I tried to pair a bluetooth mouse to it only to find that the bluetooth adapter isn't even showing up and may not be installed at all. It seems like it would be a fine laptop but I'm requesting a return asap.

Manufacturer Response:
