4 out of 5 eggsgreat tablet

Pros: Great battery life, has good keyboard, has 64 gig drive, works great! Has a USB 3.0 port in keyboard.

Cons: does not have a cam on back side, when card is inserted, it sticks out, and is easily bumped and pops out. facing cam is low resolution.

3 out of 5 eggsHandy Unit With Some Major Shortcomings

Pros: Great wi-fi reception, great touchscreen, good skype camera quality, good battery life, decent sound for such a small unit.

Cons: Microsoft Office not included although indicated in the ad
No forward facing camera
Has gone "blue screen" 3 times since purchased
Not near the available apps Apple offers

Other Thoughts: I had a work provided IPAD that I was really missing when I retired from that job. I just didn't want to pay the HUGE bucks for an IPAD, and did some research, finding the ASUS T-100 recommended for those used to a windows format. Taking the ad at face value (Microsoft Office installed - WRONG!) I bought the unit. Since I've had it, it's gone blue screen three times, and of course the Microsoft Office is NOT included, meaning not only do I have to purchase it, but it's only available now for internet download by annual subscription. This means users will have to pay for Microsoft Office EVERY YEAR. This kind of rip-off frustrates me to no end. I did buy the one year warranty, so at this point, I'm hoping I get through the year without it totally dying, or if it does, it happens during the warranty period. Probably should have spent the extra $$$ and bought it brand new. "Live and learn" I guess.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but not great

Pros: Excellent price for the tablet
Long battery
Easy to carry around

Cons: Poor refurbishing (volume button problems and audio jack failed)
Weak for a windows machine

Other Thoughts: Although this tablet has a great price tag, I rarely use it as it is too weak to handle most windows functions. I mostly used it for watching Netflix which was difficult given that the volume buttons don't work well and the 3.5mm audio jack crapped out on me

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Full Windows 8.1

Cons: Doesn't come with anything, like a quick start guide. or a Windows partition if anything doesn't work and the system has to be reinstalled as I've had to do several times with another 8.1 machine (not Asus).
There is absolutely no way to read the serial number. I have Macro-pictures to prove my point if anyone is interested...

Other Thoughts: I couldn't re-review this unit fast enough due to illness but after downloading the product manual, i discovered both I and the Asus tech support had me pushing on the wrong button for the power. Once that bit of information came across, it powered right up.
If it had just been me making the mistake, I'd be more embarrassed than I am, but like I said, the tech had me pushing the same button. Anyway, it works and it works well. The screen is stunning.
I'm sorry if I gave anyone at Asus heartburn...

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: It finally came...

Cons: DOA, it won't charge nor boot. I tried 2 known good chargers... The serial # is completely illegible; I couldn't give the info to the Asus Rep, but he helped me nun the less. He wants me to keep the charger on over night but without a glimmer of a charge light, I can't imagine it will do any good.

Other Thoughts: I want to like this unit, but without being able to turn it on I'm afraid I'm going to have to return it.
If I get one that works, I'll revise my review.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product. I apologize if the system will not power on upon arrival. Please verify if the AC adapter was properly connected from the laptop to a working surge protector or AC outlet and the power button is being pressed all the way down to trigger a power on signal. Also, please try to disconnect the AC adapter and let the unit drain for 24 hours to reset and clear the memory. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter then power on the unit. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N141227865 on the subject line.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bargain

Pros: Love it. Was buying this refurbished item as a beater computer to go out to my metal shop to run/debug some prototype projects. I was expecting something slow, but it's actually pretty pleasant. It has full Windows and works fine. I also run MS Visual Studio 2013 with some slight lag (to be expected), but it still compiles and runs projects just fine.

Cons: Didn't find any that I didn't expect. No evidence of any damage that I could find. The screen resolution is a bit short, but again, I wasn't looking for bigger resolution. This was a trade-off I intentionally made. If you do lots of reading/web surfing, you might want more than 768 lines.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for something comparable to (but actually better than) one of the expensive tablets, you will probably like this, especially if you like Windows.

4 out of 5 eggsAsus T100TA

Pros: Heavy, durable, runs full windows, very responsive, runs everything I ever wanted and has no issues with HD video running 6GB 720p. Came in almost new condition, I honestly couldn't find a single flaw, scratch, or nick on it.

Cons: Windows 8.1 Full is not like Win 7 or XP. And certainly nothing like Android or iOS. So kinda of a steep learning curve from tablet to actual tablet PC. For guy saying he should have gotten Office Key, I don't think so, If you goto Asus they even say this model doesn't have office. I think thats only bundled with Win 8.1 RT.

Other Thoughts: For price great machine!

4 out of 5 eggsWORKS GREAT!

Pros: Everything works great. Very fast and I can play games like LOL and dungen defenders on low settings.

Cons: The keyboard is physical damaged you can tell that it was dropped. Not so happy about that.... I hope that asus can send me a new one. If not I am going to go out and buy one I guess...

2 out of 5 eggsASUS tablet is great, but ...

Pros: ASUS makes great products. I had an older TF101 from them. I like the specs on this tablet. I like that it has full windows 8. Built-in dock is great and the HDMI port is awesome for movies and games on a big screen.

Cons: This isn't with ASUS or the tablet. The activation code for MS Office was not included. This was supposed to have Office included. I mention it because Newegg had the same tablet specifically mentioning it didn't have Office also on sale.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Peter,

Thank you for the positive comment you have provided. I certainly understand your concern regarding the missing activation code for MS Office. Recertified or refurbished units doesn't come with an activation code for MS Office. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# 3766198 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.
