2 out of 5 eggsNot what I thought it was

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: its easy to use

Cons: Doesn't stay charged, has a really bad echo on skype, camera is only on the side you look at (the screen)

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Yes, it is indeed easy to use. I'm sorry if the unit doesn't stay charged and you have concern running Skype and the unit having only one camera. In regards to the charging issue, please make sure the tablet was pushed all the way down to the keyboard and locked in place. An indication is the lock switch will be all the way to the right side. Also, please verify if the unit is at least running with BIOS 227 or later version. To resolve the issue with Skype, please make sure the unit is running with the most current recommended Windows Update and you have the latest version of Skype installed. If you need further technical assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N150155770 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal, period!

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: Light. Fast. Easy to use. MS Office full. USB 3.0 Newegg price, service, delivery timing and packaging:):):):)

Cons: Slow charge on non asus micro usb charger cords. 2gb ram. plastic housing.

Other Thoughts: I bought white since it is easier to use at night time. My brother had black and black keys, letters are white on his keys but still hard to distinguish keys in dark or dim room. Mine is white with black keys so you can distinguish the keys easier since the space between them is white. YMMV

2 out of 5 eggsDon't bother

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: The concept of a tablet/laptop is great, but this product unfortunately doesn't deliver.

Cons: It's a piece of junk!

Regardless of how much charge is on the battery, the tablet shuts off randomly without warning during normal usage.

Occasionally the power button won't turn the unit on, or it will begin to turn on and then immediately shut off.

The keyboard loses connection if the screen is tilted at a comfortable viewing angle.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted to love this Asus Transformer, but it's really just a pain to deal with. Save yourself the headaches and get something else.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
I apologize if you are having a connection related issue with the tablet and the keyboard dock and the system shutting down randomly. Please make sure the tablet was pushed all the way down to the keyboard and locked in place. An indication is the lock switch will be all the way to the right side. Also, please verify if the unit is running with BIOS 227 or later version and WINDOWS is running with the most current recommended updates. 5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy, don't let the haters steer you away

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: It's fast enough for any of the basic task you'd want to do. I'm even using mine to design line array sound systems for clients. It's not going to run a Pro Tools session but I'd buy a full size computer for that.

Cons: it would be great if the keyboard had an extra battery in it. it does provide a USB 3 port but it seems like they could of done more with that space.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what i expected. nothing more

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: people complain about sticking the keyboard to the tablet but it works fine for me. mqybe theyre used to the surface pro and etc. this thing is perfect for students who dont plan on installing games on this. they say the screen is weak but ive eithet been very careful or mine just turned out durable.

Cons: lags sometimes. feels slow to my desktop but then again, i invested a lot in my desktop. battery tends run out fast and it takes a while to charge it. doesnt matter if im browsing the internet or watching movies. tne battery tends to die at a fast yet steady pace.

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: this is true Z3775 cpu. I am glad i got this from not a high price. The tablet with this cpu is excellent in processing win8.And the tablet has a keyboard, we don't need to buy one. The battery is long too.

Cons: The fingerprint can be seen easily. And t100 was made of plastic...

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: Size and weight are good. Device is nice aesthetically. Screen looks good too.

Cons: Performance is rotten. Web surfing on my 4 year old Android tablet is smoother than this. I reset IE, reinstalled Win8, and did just about everything under the sun to eliminate software as the issue. It just seemed to be under powered. Flash and HTML5 content brought the device to it's knees. I honestly don't see how anyone would be expected to use this on a daily basis; so much so, that I actually think I may have a defective device.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it looks like it should be a nice product. If I were to pick nits, the right hand shift button should be much larger. Other than severe performance issues on the one I got, I can see it might be a fairly nice device.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I apologize if you were dissappointed with the performance of the laptop. In order to improve system stability and performance, please install all recommended WINDOWS Updates before using the system. Since web surfing relies on internet bandwidth, please verify if the wireless router has the most current firmware version and internet service is working properly and stable. You may need to try updating the WLAN driver if the version was outdated. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and write down service# N140935310 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Little Tablet!

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD 10.1" Touchscreen 2in1 Tablet w/Dock, Windows 8.1- White (T100TA-C1-WH(S))

Pros: Fanless, lightweight, included dock/keyboard, extremely long battery life, attractive design, great display, full windows 8.1 with MS Office Home and Student 2013, great mobile processing power, best bang for buck

Cons: No extended hdd dock/keyboard option, slow charging, mouse buttons on trackpad have a small clicking area (I didnt have enough room in my other thoughts to address this below. The bottom clicks on the track pad have a small area. If you click too close to the corner it does not click at all! Also if you press the right click far enough to the right it'll register as a left click. However if you click too far right it wont click at all and you can see how this is a huge flaw! Granted it still works, you have the touchscreen and also the option to add a mouse via usb 3.0 or bluetooth), space bar needs more room at bottom of keyboard, secure docking requires a little more effort than expected (will explain in more detail in other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: This is the same exact Asus T100 with the Baytrail Z3775 processor as the red and black one on Newegg. There were a lot of complaints about the black one getting finger smudges on the back of the tablet. I've noticed when looking closely at the back how that would be a huge problem for the black T100. However this is not an issue for the white one. The overall look of the tablet is excellent. I love the design of the dock and the glossy white black actually works pretty well with the front black face. (this was an issue for me deciding between this model and the black/grey one)

My purchase was mainly for school use so the ease of use and the portability were the most important things for me. It is light weight! Without the dock its lighter than my moms 7" nexus and iPad 9.7". Even with the dock it is lighter than any laptop or netbook I've used. I have pretty fat fingers and I do not find typing long essays difficult on the small keyboard. The only issue I have is they did not leave enough space between the bottom of the space bar and where the dock raises back up from the keyboard. If you're not sitting at the proper angle your thumb will hit the dock rather than the space bar which can be annoying when you're trying to lie comfortably in bed. Also you have to make sure the tablet is snug into the dock and both sides click securely. I've noticed already that it takes a little effort that I had first expected to lock the tablet into the dock. It is not as flawless as I would have liked it to be, but just be careful. This tighter fit probably makes it more secure, however my biggest fear is having the tablet slide off the dock when I'm carrying it around.

As mentioned the charging time is not ideal, but having it a micro usb charging port makes it convenient to charge wherever and whenever. Though there is an upside to this long charge time and that is the battery life. It last as long as any popular phone, tablet, apple product, and if anything longer. Just right out of the box without charging it lasted me 10 hours of constant use, but like any new electronic device make sure to give it a proper full charge from empty to ensure the most battery life.

This T100 has the Z3775 as oppose to the other T100 on the site that have the Z3740. I dont have a comparison between the 2, but this processor is pretty darn quick. Doesnt have any huge noticeable lag time. Runs all the programs I need for school decently, word processing and even photoshop! Does normal computer use and browsing flawlessly. Video on 1080p, netflix, and youtube are no problem for this thing. It even plays Dota 2 without shadows and AA like a champ! You got a full working Windows 8.1 tablet with excellent battery life and processing power, what more can you ask for?!!

IMPORTANT: For those who say it does not come with Office Home and Student 2013, that you have to pay for it, or its not activated. There is a card with the activation code in the box!!

Great purchase, s
