5 out of 5 eggsBlown away

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Speed, battery life and size.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I upgraded it to windows 10 and it flies. I added a 256GB SSD from newegg to the keyboard base and this thing flies. Who needs the surface?

4 out of 5 eggsGood mid-range unit

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Pretty fast for web surfing and light gaming. Free update to Windows 10 with no issues. Battery life seems to be as advertised. Touchscreen and keyboard work well and are responsive.

Cons: Limited case options - had a tough time finding an acceptable case that would work well in both tablet and laptop modes.

Other Thoughts: You can get more by spending more, but the "bang for your buck" ratio is in the consumer's favor with this device.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome gear from Asus

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Affordable
Lightweight
Great Battery life
Nice screen size
ETHERNET PORT \o/!!!
2 Usb ports (1 3.0)
and that handy slim 2.5 hdd drive bay!

Cons: Screen doesn't open far enough back
A bit dim in the direct sunlight
had a slight issue with the wifi driver

Other Thoughts: Where to begin...

The T200ta is a great ultra book/transformer book due to its battery and storage capacity capabilities. You're going to want to get an SSD for this as well as it will give you added storage and reduce battery usage compared to a slim 2.5 drive. I installed a mushkin eco drive in mine and have not been disappointed.

Compared to the Asus t100 I used to have, this has much better specs and gets better over all FPS on the games I tested with the t100

on mid low settings:
Second Life: 10 - 20
Killing Floor: 30 - 35
League Of Legends: 20+

I know that's not its intended use, but I feel it reflects how decent the chipset is.
It does NOT come with office like the t100

It IS compatible with windows 10 and I've suffered no problems as of yet... Though there are some user ended controls that you may enjoy in win 8 that are harder to get at in win 10 that you may use on this book, one of those things is being able to turn the screen brightness all the way down, in Win 10, you have to go into some settings to get the same light level (for nighttime usage)

Ethernet port is pretty rugged as I go out on site with it and plug into routers and modems for testing. Probably have used it at least 100 times by now, shows no breakage or weakness.

I use it quite a bit throughout my work day and find that I do not need to take my charger with me to work, even watching a few full length feature films don't normally drain the battery fully.

Lastly, I heard on a review that it's stereo but both speakers are on one edge of the tablet.... this is not the case as I've found covering one, then the other perforations on the back muffle the sounds. I wouldn't expect to be able to hear it too well in public without a headset. But in my house, I hear it just fine even with a fan in the background.

I do not regret my purchase and Asus continues to deliver great products without raiding my wallet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat computer/tablet hybrid!

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Great size, no bloatware, quick startup from off, expandable storage, nice keyboard, 4GB RAM, good screen and resolution for the size, plays streaming video flawlessly, very good battery life, feels well made.

Cons: No manual/quickstart guide with the computer, slight keyboard flex when typing, no battery in keyboard so keyboard will cause slight drain (e.g., better battery life without keyboard attached...it's still really good, though, even with the keyboard attached), 11.6" is a little awkward to hold vertically but it's ideal horizontally, especially for movies.

Other Thoughts: A very nice do everything little device. Feels very well made and looks great. It's light compared to even a small laptop, and the click into place tablet to keyboard feature feels sturdy and is easy to use. Being able to add a HDD or SSD into the keyboard base means you'll have all the storage you need (or are willing to pay for!), and adding the drive is a snap...just don't forget to format it once it's in place or it won't be read as a usable drive. The new Atom processor is great - much better than the Atoms on netbooks I owned in the past. My last laptop had an AMD A8 quad core, and I really don't notice any performance difference between the two, but then again I'm not a power user and only play old games. Overall, this is a real bargain, the touchscreen is great and colors are superb and crisp. I couldn't be happier than I am with the T200...it's perfect for me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Web Surfing

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Excellent quality, light weight but solid feeling, long battery runtime, good screen resolution, decent keyboard.

Cons: Nothing major, these are my pet peeves:
- I don't care for Windows 8.1. it's needed for the touch screen but I use the keyboard mostly.
- No page-up, page-down keys on keyboard make small screen navigation more difficult than it has to be, only up/down/left/right arrows are available.
- Nav pad is very sensitive, cursor will jump to a new location even when a finger is only in close proximity but not touching. Just have to get used to it.

Other Thoughts: Someone asked about the power supply cord length. Mine is about 5 feet long. Plenty long enough to reach from a wall socket to my lap.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected!

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: -Long battery life
-Keyboard feels nice and is very responsive
-Tablet is the perfect size and is very easy to use without keyboard dock
-Windows OS so I can use OneDrive to save files to my home desktop remotely
-2.25 GHz Quad-Core Atom proccesor and 4GB of RAM is more than enough for mutli-tasking and web browsing.
-Double speakers in the back of the tablet sound great.
-Buttons for volume and start menu placed perfectly so I can reach them when holding the tablet.

Cons: -Comes with only 60 GB of space (although there is space in the dock for a small hard drive, which I put a 120 GB SSD into)

-Gets a little warm when using for long periods, but not really a problem, and certainly not unexpected

Other Thoughts: Got this to take to class and use at work so I could work on projects and assignments away from my desktop. I end up using the tablet a lot around the house to browse the web and stuff.

I absolutely recommend this or one of ASUS's other transformer tablets as a cheaper yet still-as-functional version of other Windows-based tablets such as Microsoft's over-priced surface.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Full Windows 8.1 (will be Windows 10 if you like)
Easy laptop to tablet conversion.
Hard drive bay in keyboard dock.
Decent touch screen.
LAN port, USB 3.0.
Decent boot time and rather responsive with everything else.
The resolution is great for the screen size.

Cons: Wifi can be hit or miss - not sure if this is my fault, but a restart fixes it.
Power jack kind of scares me - seems fragile.
Light bleed as others say, but it is not too bad.

Other Thoughts: I honestly think this is one of the better options for the whole tablet / laptop option. Look at the specs and price, then compare it to the competition. Asus is a solid brand that has been around for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 2 in1

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Converts easily from laptop to tablet. The keyboard base has a LAN and space for a hard drive. Speedy response and screen quality is very nice. Also works with MS wireless display adapter.

The power adapter has it own port which allows you to still have an open USB while it is plugged in. Battery life is good.

Cons: Wish there was a case that would allow you to keep the case on while attached to the key board. The case I have now has to be taken off when connecting to the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Saw someone said that Chrome browser runs slow. Chrome is horrible when used with touch. It just does not respond to the touch interface. When using Chrome use the mouse and keyboard. Otherwise Explorer is the best browser when using it as a tablet, its fluid and smooth.

4 out of 5 eggsTransformer

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: - Compact
- Lightweight
- Both laptop and tablet
- Full Windows 8.1
- Fast boot time (15 secs)

Cons: - 64Gb storage
- Small amount of white "clouding" during dark screens (ie watching movies)

Other Thoughts: This is a good laptop/tablet for daily use. I use it for coding in python and java with no problems whatsoever. The reason I gave it only for 4 egg is because I had to do a RMA because the first unit I received had a lot of clouding on the top of the screen and the current one that I am using still has some but far less.

5 out of 5 eggsI am in love

This review is from: ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL 2-in-1 Ultrabook Intel Atom Z3795 (1.60GHz) 4GB Memory 64GB SSD 11.6" Touchscreen Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Pros: Gorgeous display, 2.5" hard disk bay, may connectivity options (usb 2 & 3 on dock and micro hdmi + usb 3 on tablet).

WINDOWS 10 COMPATIBLE.

Cons: Cant think of any. Little heavy to use as tablet for long?
