Cons: Pulled it out of the box. Plugged it in. Turned it on. Let me sign up and then said i was missing a drive. Screen went black. Now it wont turn back on.

Pros: Laptop is very well constructed and is pretty fast. Wireless network is very quick so if you have an AC router, this will sing like a songbird.

Cons: Windows 8.1. No official support for Windows 7 and in my opinion there is no excuse for dropping Windows 7 support as it is pretty common knowledge that Windows 8.1 is not a very favorable operating system. I was able to downgrade mine to Windows 7 but it was a major pain in the rump as I had to search the Google to find out which drivers worked.

I may try Windows 10 when I figure out if the applications I need will run on it.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a good laptop and if you don't mind Windows 8.1 or 10, then definitely recommended... If you know what you are doing tech-wise, you can get Windows 7 to run on it but be prepared for some research - most Windows 8.1 drivers on ASUS support for this will work with Windows 7 - except the Wired LAN, USB Controller, and the Intel Rapid Storage Driver.

Pros: The basics of a gaming computer were all ok.

Cons: A pixel was out the first few days of use--manufacture fixed and returned--took 2 weeks--then with in a day another pixel was out. Just returned the item and when with a different brand. Had purchased this to replace a Asus hat I liked--but not a winner this round!

Other Thoughts: Could have been a glitch--but was an expensive one that I didn't want to take any chances with

Pros: Would be a great piece of equipment if it was built to spec or if I could get Asus to provide support. The whole reason I bought it was for 32GB support with dual drives. It wouldn't support 32GB due to a defective mainboard

Cons: Asus support is awful!!! Contacted them on August 6th to inform them it should have 4 DIMM slots but it only has 2. The support person didn't even know what RAM was. They started asking me questions about USB ports. Really... I have the transcripts. They say they have escalated and I will be contacted in 24 - 48 hours... 3 weeks go by with no contact. I call back on a Sunday and am informed that it should be upgradeable to 32GB (no kidding, really, thats what I'm trying to tell you) but I need to call back Monday when the main office is open. Call back Monday and they say just return it to the retailer. Seriously!!!! Now I'll be without a machine for weeks waiting for ship back, check in, credit card refund and then start the purchase process all over again. Why not just tell me this 3 weeks ago.

This time my purchase will not be Asus. In fact it will never be Asus again. Their products are awesome when built correctly but unfortunately their support is just in the business of making your life difficult. Dell would have advance RMA'ed the unit and had me a replacement in 48 hours.

Asus should be embarrassed by their support policy. I will never buy another piece of Asus equipment again. I don't care how nice it looks or runs. I can't take the risk of having to deal with Asus support anymore.

Pros: cooling system. This laptop does not get warm much less hot

Cons: Slow, the display is very hard to calibrate and has a distinct yellow tint

Other Thoughts: The spec's mention a 1 terabit hard drive, when I got mine it actually came equipped with 2 - 500 gigabit hard drives so when I add my new SSD drive, I will lose 50% of the original hard drive space.
Another very annoying quirk about this machine. the number keypad is not turned on by default. you will have to use the "FN" + "num lock" keys to turn it on, There is nothing in the user guide to tell toy this either. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with ASUS tech support and spoke to 4 different tech before one of them found the program and said "did you turn it on".

the cooling fans on the laptop are amazing. This machine NEVER GET'S HOT !!!

All in all, not a bad machine but it does not live up to the spec's. If I had t5o do it all over again I would have bought an MSI laptop

Other Thoughts: I was super excited for this laptop to come in. I eagerly awaited as each email came in describing the order/shipping process. Set my phone up for a text alert when it would arrive. Painstakingly checked the tracking number. Finally came in today. I opened the shipping box. I was greeted by the black and red Asus ROG product packaging, it was beautiful! I opened it, saw my lovely brand new gaming laptop. It was so sleek. Nice crisp black and grey with red highlights. It felt great. I plugged in the A/C adapter and like a kid on christmas greedily pressed the power button. I was greeted by a green screen with vertical lines. I was weirded out. I had never seen a green startup screen before. Maybe it was an ASUS BIOS or POST thing I've never seen. Plus some of the lines were equally placed. It looked on purpose. Screen went black then turned green and stayed green. It didn't do anything else. I moved the mouse via trackpad. The green lines moved. I've been sold a 1400 brick. Somebody better be repairing/replacing this at their expense.

Pros: -Great specs for the cost point (16GB RAM, for instance, similar Alienware builds usually only give 8GB of RAM).
-Very, very good cooling system; laptop only gets warm, not burning hot, which is very impressive.
-Great looking, large IPS screen, no angle is a bad angle to have the screen.
-Back-lit keyboard is really nice, especially when you're gaming in the dark not trying to wake up your girlfriend.
-I'm able to play all the current large title games out there on High or Ultra; although this may not always be the case, it's going to play games very well for the foreseeable future.
-I really like the keyboard, the feel of it and how it's a large, full-size keyboard.
-Computer feels very solid, not just because of its weigh, but the build just seems very sturdy, from the screen, to the keyboard, and the hinges the screen turns on.

Cons: -It's hard to find true cons here, but if I'm being nitpicky, I would have liked the option of an m.2 ssd (like some of the other Asus G751 models), but that's not a big deal, a SATA ssd will be plenty good.
-I like how the keyboard has a number pad on the right side; however, it's a bit cramped, and a little too close to the arrow keys, again, far from a big deal.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this computer is unbeatable. Specs, performance (gaming as well as cooling), build quality, warranty (one year with accidental liquid spills/dropping).

Pros: Fast to boot About 7 second to log in screen- even without a SSD.
Screen is crisp with a nice viewing angle.
Runs cool and quiet. - nice to have rear vents

Cons: Windows 8.1 - I have since downloaded Windows 10 and it is better although there is a learning curve.
It is larger than my previous 17.3" laptop and barely squeezes into my old backpack made for a 17" PC.

Other Thoughts: This replaced an old Gateway FX laptop when its video card finally failed, I mostly play SWTOR and Star Trek Online. I can run ultra graphics settings and get about 60fps. Keyboard is good Sound is OK as well.

Pros: Very Powerful. Very fast.

I needed a computer that I could travel with that could still play the games I like (Skyrim, WoW). I found it on sale here at NewEgg and pounced.

So far I'm very impressed at both the quality and power of this laptop. I can run Skyrim at Max settings and WoW at details I've never seen before.

It is super quiet, never warm, and runs multiple things at once without a hitch.

Am I happy? I couldn't be happier!!

Cons: Some minor bloatware, WIndows 8 - standard complaints.
