5 out of 5 eggsUnder the Radar Powerhouse

Pros: Slim!
Lightweight
Beautiful Screen
White Backlit Keys
Quick
Decent Battery Life

Cons: Loud fans at max
Hot when Gaming
Keyboard can be mushy, but is better than most

Other Thoughts: This is a great laptop for those who want a simple looking laptop but don't want to compromise on performance. This can serve as a desktop replacement in this SKU, SSD boots fast, hard drive is big enough too and expandability is also a plus. I bought this as a mobile CAD/ general school rig to supplement my desktop.

This is one of the best laptops I have found both in specs and looks but if fan noise is an issue, you may have a problem. That being said, just putting in earbuds will get rid of any annoying fan noise.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was looking for

Pros: Solid machine. Great form factor and the nicest specs for the price. Not flashy, but nicely built. A bit future-proofed if you consider the 6gig gtx960m.

Cons: The screen bezel leaves a bit to be desired.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you can't go wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product - just not for me

Pros: Powerful - had all the specs I wanted in a laptop, except one (see cons).

Cons: I can't get used to having a full keyboard on a laptop, and thus the main keyboard and trackpad are shifted left of center. Constantly would click the right button when I intended the left, and would always type one key to the left of where I should have been.
I realize this may not be an issue for some people, but if you think it will be I would suggest looking at one without a full keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I'm looking at returning and going with P34WV3-CF2 instead. Smaller screen is the only fault I can see with that choice.

4 out of 5 eggsBallin'

Pros: This is exactly what I needed it to be. A gaming laptop that isn't flashy looking or very big with a good battery life when on the go if you're not playing games. I am a student who works with video editing and

Future proof with 6GB's of VRAM

Can run everything on the market right now, most of it at the highest settings. (Some games like Evolve might need a little more muscle, but still run and look great in lower settings.)

Quiet and cool when not in gaming mode.

Sleek all black look.

Great viewing angles on the screen.

Add an extra SSD very easily with hot swap bay.

Renders video fairly well for a laptop. I used After Effects and Premiere with no trouble on some higher end projects.

Good battery life when not gaming. I got between 4 and 6 hours just browsing the internet and using a word processor.

Cons: Runs LOUD and WARM when gaming even semi-demanding games. Games like NBA 2k15 or Fifa 15, which aren't the most demanding graphics-wise makes the fans on this whir audibly. Not worried about overheating, but I wouldn't suggest using it on anything but a hard surface. (In comparison, games like League of Legends do not run loud or warm.)

Case is nice looking, but is a magnet for fingerprints.

Battery is not removable.

Other Thoughts: This is a great laptop that should be good for several years and will still be capable in gaming for a while.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Purchase

Pros: 1. Powerful
This machine is no joke and runs games beautifully with little effort. I have yet to play an extremely recently released game on it yet, but easily runs The Witcher 2 on max settings with blink of an eye load times.
2. Drives
I bought the model with 128GB SSD and 1 TB Hard Drive, and soon after mounted a second SSD very easily, though be careful taking the machine apart, there are some wires attached to the case. Some much space for all the games you could want. The swappable drive makes it possible for even more space, either through another hard drive or an SSD.
3. Light-Weight
Shockingly light, and ridiculously thin for what it has in terms of power. Way more portable than even some mac books.
4. Screen
The screen is absolutely gorgeous, the wide angle just makes gaming look that much better. The 970 probably plays a part in that as well, but seriously a beautiful machine.
5. Value/Appearance
This machine does not light up like alienware and doesn't have a 4k screen like MSI but neither of those functions are at all necessary for a laptop. The value is absolutely unbeatable, and the appearance is professional enough to bring anywhere.
5. Software
Gigabyte makes some great pre-installed software, do not delete this stuff as if it was bloat. The programs are straight forward and helpful, especially the smart manager.
6. Sort of Battery
Obviously the battery life is not spectacular, the laptop is way too powerful for a 6 hour battery life, but I did get over 2 hours of CIV 5 before i got the 20% battery life warning, so not as terrible as it could be.

Cons: Fans are a bit loud when on max but do an excellent job keeping the laptop somewhat cool. I recommend a separate cooling pad, just to keep this excellent machine in great shape.

No other cons, and that one barely counts. Buy this laptop if you're looking for a beast gaming computer that is surprisingly portable and looks professional.

5 out of 5 eggsA positive Experience

Pros: I commend this laptop for what it does. It is an extremely powerful machine. It was slimmer than I thought it would be so that is very nice. I had been shopping for 5 months before deciding to purchase this laptop. The normal SSD of 128 is too small. I was able to put my extra 512 SSD I bought from Crucial and put it in the expansion bay. I booted up my windows as if my computer hadn't changed at all, and then installed the drivers from Gigabyte's website.
The sound quality is average (doesn't bother me at all).
One thing I've noticed is the X key started getting stuck a little bit, but that is probably just my specific computer. The finish easily smudges. The stickers are hard to remove. It's very difficult to detach cables without lifting up the computer. If you lift the computer with one hand on the sides you can hear a little creaking from the aluminum body. I also replaced the RAM with some upgraded RAM and it was just about the smoothest experience I could ask for.

The video card is beyond phenomenal for todays computing. The bootup time is within 10 seconds. The computer is very sturdy. The only place where the computer gets hot under high demand is the back center underneath. The power adapter does not come with a Velcro piece (to make the cords shorter). The power adapter is also very big, however the cord is quite long.

The screen bends back farther than ever needed. The computer is quite long so use a measuring tape in your carrying case to make sure it fits.

Cons: Sound is average quality
My X keep gets stuck (I think it's just my computer though)
Finish smudges
Weight, but weight v price is amazing

Other Thoughts: All in all I love this laptop. I am extremely happy with it as of the time of this writing.

5 out of 5 eggsBest GTX 970m laptop you can buy.

Pros: It's thin and light. It's not over stated or made to look like something that is just for gaming. I can bring this laptop to the office and pass it off as a productivity machine. It doesn't have any stupid badges or anything like that. It's elegant.

It plays games awesomely. This is my 2nd gaming laptop and unlike my first which used a AMD cpu and AMD gpu and couldn't actually play games at all, this machine not only plays them, but it does it with settings at max. No stutter or lag or anything. Smooth. This machine barely weighs 5lbs also, while my previous machine was a thick machine that weighed nearly 10lbs.

It doesn't come with a tremendous amount of bloat or anything like that. There are a few Gigabyte applications installed, but few and easily removed if you want to.

The keyboard is back lit and looks great, is adjustable in brightness.

It also had a DVD drive, which is nice to have if you need it. But that's not really what makes it great. The drive is removable and replaceable. So you can exchange it with a drive carriage and add additional storage. I plan to some day add a 1TB SSD and transfer my games to it instead of using the provided 1TB 7200rpm drive. So I can easily add more storage, improve performance and game loading times, all without having to open up the machine or voiding any warranties. And if I need DVD, I can temporarily swap them back.

Cons: So far I can't really find anything work complaining about.

The only thing I wish it could have is a 2560x1440 120Hz screen. But no one else has that either, so I can't blame them.

Other Thoughts: The first gaming 15.6" slim gaming laptops that were available were from MSI. But everyone of them was configured in a manner that didn't make sense.

Some had 3K and 4K screens. But at 15.6", that resolution is unnecessarily high and without reason. Why do I want to push all those extra pixels on such a smaller screen? You'd just get lower frame rates. Why would I want that resolution for the desktop? Everything would look impossibly tiny. You'd have to rely on Windows scaling, and if Windows is terrible at scaling, it looks terrible if you've never seen it.

Also, most of the MSI units that had these high res screens only had 3GB of DDR5. The 1080p screens had 6GB. It made no sense.

Some of the 4K screens were only capable of 48Hz also. 60Hz should be a minimum for something trying to be a gaming machine.

I looked at other slim models using the 970m also and for everything I found there was always some trade-off. This was the first machine that matched exactly what I was looking for. Intel Core i7, 16GB, SSD for OS, 1TB storage and games, GTX 970m 6GB DDR5, 1080p matte screen, slim profile, low weight and could pass as a normal laptop.

Plus it was cheaper than the competition. Gigabit has a winner with the P35.

Buy this laptop, you won't regret it.
