1 out of 5 eggsWas not worth it

Pros: The laptop was put together

Cons: Got extremely hot in ten minutes of powering it on.
The refurb department evidentally did not care about quality when selling their product, only to make money
Was not able to get this returned
Poor quality

Other Thoughts: do not buy refurbished, I was told i have to send it back to have this fixed and wait for a month... possibly their refurb department looking for cheap parts that last a week and send it back...

1 out of 5 eggsZERO eggs :(

Pros: superseded by cons...

Cons: First off, it was shipped from a refurbishing center (not NewEgg) loose in box! By some stroke of good luck it survived normal shipping trauma. There was NO recovery partition and NO Windows recovery or install disc(s). The battery was for the most part useless as fully charged it powered the laptop with mild usage less than an hour. The last nail in the coffin was after very light usage and never taking it out of the house the hard disk died, unfortunately too late to return it. Overall I would recommend staying away from the refurbished junk this center is peddling.

Other Thoughts: Stick with something with a warranty or be ready to toss it in the trash when it dies.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Top of the line model was sent T61P with Extra high resolution
-Newegg's fair and ethical RMA process. This is why I love Newegg!

Cons: -First of all, wrong item was sent to me from the 3rd party company. This item lists as 14.1 inch laptop but they sent me 15.3 inch laptop.
-Screen had bruises (Shows that the laptops aren't throughly checked)
-Multiple scratches on outer panels, loose hinges
-3rd party seller (who sends you the laptop) is just unreachable via phone number OR e-mail regarding to the product

Other Thoughts: It's like a gamble.
You do not know which model you are gonna get..
Expect to be surprised (Good or bad)!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low Cost. Excellent RMA support from Newegg.

Cons: Display went dead within 1 week of use. Horrendous packaging, with no cushioning material.

Other Thoughts: Disappointed that this was a 3rd party, not a factory refurb. Newegg does not indicate that in the description. The unit I received was really beat up. It appears to have a new keyboard. The case received a spray paint refurbishment to hide the bad condition.

5 out of 5 eggsBagain For a Decent Laptop

Pros: It Came with a 120GB Drive; however, its a pretty slow Hitachi so its not much to jump up and down about. The biggest Pro is that it is actually a "T61p" which means it comes with the nVidea Qaudro FX 570m which is a nice display adapter for a an older laptop. Also, newegg sells the dock (used) for the T61 for $16.99. So I got one of those too.

Cons: The battery is only last around two hours so an upgrade will be made to a generic 9 cell for 30-40 dollars.

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and put windows 7 64bit on this if you get it, because otherwise you are not using the computer to its full potential.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Nice laptop. Nice price. NewEgg was prompt with an RMA.

Cons: Add me to the list ... Laptop had a grey line through the center of the screen that appeared at power up! Several pixel high! That's not a good refurb!

The packing was the worst. Inner box fit snugly around the laptop. Unfortunately, that box was placed in a larger box with almost no packing. The inner box was able to freely bounce around the outter box!

NewEgg was prompt to offer a return. Let's see if the next one comes better packed.

Other Thoughts: Very sad as this was to be a present that will now not be delivered on time due to the need to RMA. This is the first time NewEgg has let me down and the worst time they could have.

Pros: I don't get how so many people rate themself's as [high-] tech-savy (-wise), yet mention O.S./DRVER problems relative to this machine. What tech-head buys a pc and keeps all the bloat wear on it? Most reinstall O.S./DRIVERS ASAP. What tech.-head doesn't know how to download/install/drivers and install/activate/(own or have access to) an OEM copy of Microsoft's last half doz. O.S.'s? Finally, what tech-head (especially who's reselling) doesn't know where/how to buy Premium Internet Security Software for multiple systems for PENNY's to sweeten a re-sell? Geeeess, come-on, this ain't a bad deal!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value, unfortunately the packaging was horrible!

Pros: Great price. Laptop is very snappy, even more so than some Dell Vostros with the same specs.

Cons: The company that actually sent them, did a horrible job of packaging these. The other box was ok, but the internal packing was basically a plastic bag and a carboard contraption that was meant to secure it, but didn't. Both came loose inside the box and got banged around. Luckily they don't seem to have any problems functionally.

Other Thoughts: DiscountLaptopShop, next time opt for a better method for internal packaging.

4 out of 5 eggsEverything works

Pros: After reading the 30 reviews I took a chance and ordered one. OS is preloaded, no problems. Key board looks to be new, screen looks its age. Hard drive 110.

Cons: Shipped with no CD. Newegg product image page shows Win xp pro refurbished disc. Also battery, after charging for 24 hr shows 100% charged for 2 hours 15 min.

Other Thoughts: Neweggs shipping is the fastest. Ordered on Friday and recieved on Tuesday.
