4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop, but hefty

Pros: i3 - most laptops around this range are usually Pentium

Windows 7 - harder to find Windows 7 laptops these days; picked this one up before the transition to 8.

Clean, simple design

Number pad

Cons: Hefty size

No HDMI

Other Thoughts: I've had mine for about 6 months now, and I haven't experienced any problems with the left hinge. However, I usually don't bend the display too far back, not sure if bending it "past" 120 degrees can induce strain onto the hinge.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent laptop

Pros: Good laptop for the price, Lenovo makes good quality laprops, it worked fine...

Cons: I3 and a 5400 rpm hard drive just doesnt cover it for me. All though its a good laptop, its slow. Why not throw in a 7200 rpm hard drive?

1 out of 5 eggsRun Away do not purchase

Pros: n/a

Cons: Case started separating after 2 months of ownership. The Left hinge broke in 10 weeks. This is a known problem and Lenovo is not taking ownership. Check the lenovo website forum and see all the complaints about the left hinge breaking. Lenovo support was helpful but the solution is to send the laptop to them and wait 7 business days for them to send it back with the same hinge. The repair does not resolve the faulty design and in 2 to 3 months you have the same issue.

Other Thoughts: I would stay away from Lenovo

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: LED backlight = great battery life. Really strong Core i3 processor. Screen is beautiful. Keyboard is great; includes dedicated Numpad. Four USB ports. Stays very cool, even when the processor is stressed. For what I paid this is an absolute steal.

Cons: No HDMI output. Really, Lenovo? Boo. No USB 3.0. I knew this when I bought it, so no reason to dock an egg. The touchpad buttons feel cheap. They may last 10 years, but I doubt it (so far so good). BIOS is fairly useless. You can pick boot device priority and whatnot, but nothing fancy.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line is that this processor for the price paid is truly awesome. Kind of ridiculous actually. I am a huge AMD fan for desktops, but their offerings for laptops at this price point are laughable... or sad, depending on how you look at it. I really wish this thing had an HDMI output. There is no reason in the world for it not to. Regardless, overall the value for my money is off the chart, thus the 5 egg rating.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good non-gaming laptop

Pros: Very good for everyday use - MS office, etc. work fine - very fast.. quad core. installed several games - work well. the win7 index for graphics is 4.8 - so I doubt it will run games that have very high video requirements. Very very light laptop. Battery lasts as advertised under normal use.

Cons: none so far

4 out of 5 eggsGreat price, great machine

Pros: Quick start-up, not much bloatware, came with google chrome, full keyboard with number pad (!!!), runs cool, great battery life + energy management, nice screen, lightweight, tons of usb ports. Found my wireless connection immediately. Comes with a free version (small ad in bottom right corner of screen) of Microsoft Office 2010 which works fine for simple word processing. Excellent student laptop.

Cons: Trackpad is a little wonky, but hey, it's an easy fix by dropping $5-10 on a wireless mouse. It's also located on the left which threw me off a bit-used to having it in the middle. Webcam not so great, but it's a webcam-who cares?

Other Thoughts: This is awesome. I really needed a laptop to do my school work as I am an online-only college student/work full time/mom. I choked spending the nearly-$400, but this is exactly what I needed!

Quick, full keyboard, light, cool, great battery, fits in my laptop compatible backpack like a glove, free version of Word does the job, etc.

Even my ultra computer savvy husband wants the same one just to play with. I'd recommend this fella to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsLenovo G570 43349LU RT

Pros: I bought a Lenovo G570 43349LU RT in early March and have had nothing but problems with it. Since the day I took it out of the box it has been blue screening. The first time I called Lenovo's tech support I was told to go to their site and update the BIOS drivers and that would remedy the "blue screen" issues. The next time it blue screened, I was told I needed to re-install windows. I did it to no avail. The next time I called they told me to send it into the shop. I had to buy a laptop shipping box for $18 and pay $25 in shipping. They sent it back without my expensive fancy box with a new hard drive. It blue screened again. I called tech support and he had me set the computer so that the next time it blue screened we could get a code. I got the code that it is the HUB port and they told be that even if it got fixed it would do the same thing again. I demanded another computer from Sarah Blake at Lenovo. She said no deal and that she would have her senoir tech support guy

Cons: call me and they would do an onsite fix. It's been a couple of days since I have heard anything. In the mean time I am loosing files along with my mind. Very dissatisfied with Lenovo. I want a replacement computer!

Other Thoughts: I will say that I love Newegg and have ordered from them for years and referred them to so many people. They have excellent coustomer service and are so quick to ship your item.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good!

Pros: Cheap price, doesn't feel overly cheap. The screen is a great size and resolution is fantastic.

Cons: Lags. Luckily, I purchased the addition 4 gigs of ram for $20, and it made a huge difference (still lags, but not terribly). Lack of a mute button has proved to be a bit frustrating. Biggest Con --> super flimsy disk drive. I installed autocad onto the laptop and the disk drive started buzzing very loudly. I pushed it in w/ my finger, it stopped. I let go, it buzzed loudly again. Will be contacting Lenovo for a replacement, as newegg said I'd have to replace the whole thing (can't be bothered with that).

Other Thoughts: It's a great laptop, but you get what you pay for.
