3 out of 5 eggsGood Peformance, OEM underclocking present

Pros: Good, solid performance.
High resolution screen.
The graphics card works with the screen well (not too much screen for the card)
NVIDIA Optimus works well to perserve battery life.
Intel HD 4000 can run Men of War Assault Squad with full graphics without a single frame drop.
High RAM.

Cons: Although RAM is stated to be 1.6GHz, it only operates at 800MHz.
GPU is underclocked on all clocks by roughly 20%, GPU memory frequency forced to 800MHz, just like RAM.
Intel TurboBoost isn't enabled, and can't be enable with stock BIOS.
BIOS has many, many options locked.
Cannot disable Hyperthreading.

Other Thoughts: Although BIOS locking and OEM underclocking is present, this laptop is still a solid performer for the (cheaper) gamer on the go. OEM underclocking and BIOS lock is an extreme disappointment for those who want to get EVERYTHING out of their laptop.

3 out of 5 eggsWifi card failed

Pros: easy to upgrade harddrive (SSD), fast machine.

Cons: WiFi worked for a week then failed. updated drivers, still did not work. Sometime takes 10 minutes to connect to Wifi network, intermittent lost of connection at best. Now using a mini-usb external wifi card, connection is instantaneous on boot-up, however, I now have to dedicate a use port just to accommodate my mini-wifi care. Will be calling Lenovo for support after my 30 days and see if there is a fix...stay tune.

4 out of 5 eggsI love my laptop.

Pros: Great Video Card, Diablo 3, and WoW play on full graphic settings. Sound is great and loud.

Cons: No Mute button. No light up keyboard

I havn't gotten my wireless working since I bought this laptop. I'm wired at home so it wasn't a big deal for me and I didn't try to make it work very hard but...

Other Thoughts: All around good computer.

3 out of 5 eggsYou can do better

Pros: Decently priced for a somewhat higher end laptop. Dual GPU's, an i7 and plenty of memory as well as a robust HDD. Runs most games quite well.
Plenty of USB drives. That's always a plus.

Cons: -Bloatware out the hoohah upon first boot up. It took a while to get rid of all the shizznet they had installed on it.
-A large issue I had was with the trackpad placement. It doesn't disable the trackpad while you're typing. This causes the lower section of your thumb to rub it while typing causing the cursor to often select/highlight large portions of your text. Its not a make it or break it issue but it deletes a large portion of your text which is a pain while writing papers as it randomly will switch to other lines or accidentally delete small paragraphs. So many freaking undo's
-The right click button is also loose which is annoying as well.
-Very odd keyboard layout.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard decided to quit on me 6 months in. Contacted Lenovo and had to jump through some hoops to even get the darn thing sent in. No update on it yet.
I don't feel as if this is a con as its just a faulty product. It would have been decent product if it lasted.

4 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: good graphic card (so, cheap (<$1000.00) laptop for gaming demand), nice and large screen, good cooling system, Dobly audio, beautiful design

Cons: bloatware (every new laptop has these rubbish), loose right click button of touch pad, HDD should be 7200 rpm, instruction manual should tell how to use function keys (I tried each one of them to figure out what that key controls), also should let customer know how to switch graphic cards (there is a integrated Inter HD4000 card) although it's auto-selecting.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's cheap and nice. The next thing is to check how long this thing is going to perform well.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - looks. This thing is pretty. Nice lightly brushed black metal look - keyboard looks great, too.
- no crashes, ran right out of the box with hardly any setup. In a few minutes I was online. All hardware functional from the start.
- two-finger scrolling with the touchpad (up to three finger actions I think)
- It's a nice machine as far as speed goes - I can run DiRT 2 on it at full specs in the 50 FPS range, if I remember right.
- convenient port locations, especially for power (right side).

Cons: - keyboard layout. I've had this for a few weeks, and it is still hard to get used to where the keys are. The right shift is pretty small (maybe 2/3 size of normal keys).
- had to edit the registry so I could game with the touchpad. There wasn't an option to disable the function that stops touchpad input when you're typing.
- I'm still not sure what I have on here that is bloatware (hardware acceleration stuff maybe?)
- battery life. I'm not sure what standard is, but 4 hours or so seems kind of short.

4 out of 5 eggsQuick Performer

Pros: Quick responsive hardware. Excellent loading times from mechanical hard drive. Plenty of memory and processing power. Plays flash games and movies full screen with no problems. Seems well built and solid. Huge screen area with very high resolution gives plenty of space for internet browsing. Good sounding built-in speakers have plenty of volume without cracking.

Cons: Bloteware! I had to uninstall about 10 useless pieces of software including a copy of McAfee Antivirus that was asking me to upgrade every five min or so.
With as much space as there is around the keyboard it seems like they could have separated the number pad from the rest of the keyboard. The area below the keyboard is very thick causing my forearms to support my arms in an odd way. The edges of the computer seem sharp after typing for a few minutes causing my forearms to look red with scratches.

Other Thoughts: Overall not to shabby when it come to performance, but comfort is a different story. I applaud IBM for ther quality and price points.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: First of all this laptop just looks great very nice black brushed look to it. Very competent running just about anything. I don't do a whole lot of major PC gaming but Civilization V runs perfect and full settings.

The white lights are nice and the insides are easy to get to. The number pad is nifty and it tends to stay pretty cool which is a bonus.

The screen is large and looks fantastic, it's surprisingly very light, and you get pretty good battery life...if you're not gaming, of course.

It's got enough USB ports for your needs, including USB 3.0 ports the built in webcam looks good and the built in mic will get you by.

Cons: The hard drive included left a little to be desired. The 1TB of storage was great but the speed was not. I ended up sacrificing 250gb of storage and upgraded to a Western Digital WD7500BPKT. That was the final piece to complete this machine.

As said before the right click button is a little loose, nothing super big, the track pad does seem to get in the way when typing sometimes so it's just something to get used to.

Other Thoughts: Great laptop, huge upgrade over my previous one. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great computer and a nice price.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for The Price

Pros: I have had this computer for about 3 weeks. The screen is awesome. The processor is fast, the computer stays cool after long periods of usage, and comes with very little extraneous programs.

Cons: There is no keyboard light and the right click button for the touch pad is a little loose.

4 out of 5 eggs******BUYER BEWARE****

Pros: GREAT SCREEN, NUM PAD VERY WELL PLACED, ITS BEEN A PLEASURE AND IT WAS A QUICK DELIVERY

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: MY RECENT PURCHASE HAS LEFT ME PUZZLED??? ALTHOUGH HAPPY WITH THE LENOVO I WAS CONFUSSED, PUZZLED AND FEEL MISSLED BY NEWEGG’S POINT OF PURCHASE ADD ON COMBO PACKAGES. MY RECENT LENOVO LAP TOP IS A 17.3”; ONE WOULD THINK THAT THE COMBO POINT OF PURCHASE ADVERTISING FOR A BACKPACK CASE WOULD BE ONE THAT WOULD ACTUALLY FIT THE LAPTOP. “NOT!!” SURPRISE IT’S A 15.4” BACKPACK. WHY ON EARTH WOULD NEWEGG DECIEVE CUSTOMERS WITH SUCH A COMBO PACKAGE.
