5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: It runs like a dream. great for my source engine games! does my indie ones too :D great hardware and soon i', replacing the e-450 for the e2-2000 (200mh graphics fifference and a 100 mhz difference too!) but all in all perfect budget laptop. but I suggest a a-series amd laptop for games though.

Cons: none really. wish it would play things like darksiders and natural selection 2, but it's a 300$ laptop, can't expect much!

3 out of 5 eggsI have this model

Pros: I bought mine for cheap, and I knew Lenovo laptops are good for modding up. APU as well

Cons: slow hd, whack ram and somehow does not know how to come back from being asleep??

Other Thoughts: This laptop was on special for $249, so I picked it up. 8gb of 1333mhz ram and a 60gb ssd both for $95 later it now boots and shuts down in 12 secs ea. and plays GW2 on low settings. Now the E-450 is the bottleneck which is un-upgradeable. MAKE SURE that u realize this has no HDMI port only VGA for output vid.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't bother.

Pros: All the systems are good. The comp runs fine, good enough for the average user.

Cons: The outer case is garbage. After six months, mine is already falling apart(has been, slowly, for about four).

Other Thoughts: It would be great, if the shell wasn't so cheaply made, and mine wasn't falling apart already. If you need something cheap to leave on a desk, mostly, you'll probably be fine with this. But if you move around from room to room, or travel you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsAtheros ruins laptops

Pros: Might be OK if I could at least get on the Internet.

Cons: Saw other pcs on the home network. Could not connect to the internet. Atheros network card ruins this laptop. As other posters have said. Boggles my mind that this product goes out the door with such a useless network adapter.

Other Thoughts: Avoid all computers that have Atheros cards. If we all do it, they will die and boy do they deserve it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for parents

Pros: I bought this for my Dad. He uses his laptop for two things at home: Organizing photos and creating playlists/burning them to CDs via iTunes. It's what he loves to do. After going to pcdecrapifier.com and removing the bloatware, this computer has all the capabilities for his needs and is the perfect price point. The processing speed is fantastic for the price point and his needs.

Cons: Not the greatest wireless built in, hard drive could be bigger, comes with McAfee.

Other Thoughts: Think about the individual who will eventually use the computer. If you're looking to buy a laptop for a gamer, this definitely isn't for you. If it's for someone who likes to browse the internet, burn CD/DVDs and download music, it doesn't get much better at this price point.

4 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: It seems built really well. sleek design, great screen. AMD E-450 is quite the performer at in its weight class. the equvilent intel is a Pentium B970, which is a 35watt cpu, while this one is only 13watt. GPU is stellar for the tdp. Plays tf2 on low, to lowest settings. the access panel is quite large, giving access to everything, including removal of the heatsink, WITHOUT taking it apart. one screw for cd\dvd, one for the keyboard.

Cons: The CPU performance is lacking regardless of power consumption, it is slow. The microphone is in the most akward position I've ever seen. It is seated right under the left hand ctrl. bloat, but thats expected. 1080p youtube is a no go. we can blame flash performance for this one. The included wifi is garbage. never had a good experience with atheros. I plan to swap it out with a linksys or intel in the future.

Other Thoughts: Mine came with a single 4GB DDR3 1333 Ramaxel downclocked to 1066 by the chipset, which leaves room for expansion. The wifi is an atheros AR9285, which is n lite. that mean effective speed maxes out at 65mbps.

5 out of 5 eggsmore than worth the price

Pros: Purchased this for a friend who did not need a performance laptop. Snagged this when it had a $50 rebate available, so total $150 off full price. What a deal -- as long as one is aware that this is a budget laptop and verifies that it is compatible with how they will use a computer.

Cons: fan noise. reviews I had read elsewhere online mentioned that the fan runs a LOT in the G series. it's also an issue discussed a lot in Lenovo forum. I find this to be true with this unit, even after customizing power features. the fan is also louder than the fan in my *many* Thinkpads (old to within a year old). this would drive me nuts but my friend says she doesn't notice it. Yea! I may try to get Lenovo to replace it anyway. They often do get replacement parts (FRUs) to resolve known issues. Then when unit gets warrantied, it gets replaced. Worth a shot.

description is most definitely WRONG -- in error. since the graphics card is integrated with the CPU, it would be impossible to have both an AMD processor and an Intel grahics adapter. I called customer service and notified them of the error. the technical people confirmed this, after which I expected to see a correction on the listing. nothing. hmmm ... Buyer beware, this product does not include a graphics adapter from Intel.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded the RAM to 16GB. Removed the original 4GB and put it in a ThinkPad X120e, to expand that to 8GB, so no RAM was wasted in the upgrade. :o)
Both the G575 and the X120e will allow twice as much RAM as Lenovo supports. Not sure if that voids the warranty. It's possible so be aware. Also, neither computer *needs* this much RAM. As non-performance machines, they will probably never access all that RAM. I just do it cuz I can. What can I say. It's a compulsion. :-/
