ThinkPad T61 Notebook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz 14.1" 2GB Memory 60GB HDD DVD-CDRW

Pros: The laptop looks like new, the price is decent.

Cons: Batteries are scratched a lot, in contrast with the laptop. These are definitely not the original batteries. Noisy cooling fan. Small touch pad. No drivers CD/DVD. System must be restored first.

Other Thoughts: I purchased two laptops for my parents, two months apart. They both came with scratched batteries. The battery of the first laptop died in few days, and now the laptop works only plugged in. After the initial restore/install the laptop gave me the bsod a couple of times, so I reinstalled the OS again, then it worked fine. I thought that these were not such big deals, and because my dad liked it so much, I purchased a second identical laptop for my mom. The second laptop's cooling fan makes a terrible noise. I will have to spend some more on a replacement fan, but in the end is going to be OK.
Unfortunately, shortly after each purchase I sent the laptops abroad, where my parents live, and it would be really expensive to have them sent back, then sent to NE for warranty/replacement then sent again abroad.
Also, the second unit came in a damaged box, but that was due to UPS' s handling.

Pros: -Great condition (Few marks on top)
-Great battery life (5hr light work)
-upgradable to (4gb ram and a 2.6ghz cpu)
-working thumb print scanner (the scanners are for easy access not security)
-clean inside (disassembled to check)
-internal mic
-keyboard light (useful in the at night)

Cons: -wasn't free
-light heavy (good build quality though)
-no webcam
-has a vista sticker on it(yuck)
-intel x3100 graphics(other thoughts)
-battery stick out the back (just the way they designed it)

Other Thoughts: -I was disappointed to find it had the the intel x3100 graphics which is the lowest in the graphics you can go for this model, the other better choices were nivida cards. Youtube videos shuttered intil the graphics had the newest drivers were installed.
-I received the wrong manual for laptop, not needed though
- nivida drivers were installed, but it had the intel chip instead(May be a sign they have some of the nivida ones)

Pros: Decent refurbished laptop.
Newegg support is awesome.
Newegg is handling the situation for me.
Did not have to call anyone but Newegg.

Out of years of doing business with them, I have never had issues like these.
I will be continuing to make purchases from Newegg.
'nough said.

Cons: Incorrect laptop model received. (received T60, I ordered a T61 as advertised)
Incorrect battery received. (Looks like a repeating issue in all these kits.)
My company accidentally ordered 2 of these,
Both laptops we received were not T60's and came with batteries that will not fit them. Uh oh.
Even though the differences between the T60 and T61 are minute,
We did order T61's for a reason ;P

I have brought all this to Newegg's attention, Hopefully they will soon fix the advertising / fix the refurbished kits / or remove them from the store accordingly.

Other Thoughts: I am curious as to wether the other customer who purchased this received a T60 or a T61. Also they should probably contact customer support again and re-explain the situation. Demand results, Newegg is more then friendly.. at least to me lol.

Pros: Fast. Laptop arrived in good condition. HDD was 90GB instead of 60GB.

Cons: The laptop shipped with the wrong battery! It shipped with a battery for the Lenovo Z60, and it doesn't fit. Newegg refused to ship me the correct battery, so I'm stuck tethered to an outlet unless I pay $50 for something that should have come with the laptop!
