2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: Thin, lightweight, fast computer for the cost

Cons: No problems for 5 months after normal usage. Around that time the screen started to get white lines going down the center which gradually expanded to a line about 1 inch thick down the center making use difficult, had to order new screen and replace. A month later the motherboard failed with no sign of shock, impact, or any liquid damage. Replacement would cost almost as much as the laptop.

Other Thoughts: Wouldnt risk the money on this product.

4 out of 5 eggsFast and light...with some minor quirks

Pros: Excellent battery life (5-7 hours), lightweight, fast processor, plenty of RAM included, windows 7. Upgraded from an old Core2 Solo laptop and this thing blows it out of the water.
Some people complained about the screen colors in other reviews but it looks great to me. Good resolution, saw no need for full HD on this size of laptop. Boots up FAST due to SSD cache. Speakers are really nice, a little high on the treble but very audible. Didn't list backlit keyboard in the specs but it was backlit (nice bonus!). Feels well built. Has some plastic chassis parts but feel sturdy.

Bought to handle some work programs (no gaming) and it works very well.

Cons: Unit I received had a malfunctioning down arrow. Would activate with the slightest touch, not even pushing it down. Thought I could live with it but it was so annoying that I RMA'd it. We'll see about the replacement.

My wife noted that the keyboard was weirdly aligned with the touchpad. Didn't bother me but your wrists will touch the trackpad a bit. Trackpad buttons feel a little stiff but not a huge deal. My wife complained about the texture of the trackpad (its a little bumpy) so if you have sensory issues, it could be a deal-breaker. Took an egg off for these potential issues.

Comes with a bunch of bloatware so expect to spend 30 minutes removing all the junk.

Other Thoughts: Great value for this laptop. Couldn't find a better deal and if my replacement has the arrow issue fixed I will use this laptop for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsexactly what i expected

Pros: sleek, fast, quiet, runs cool

Cons: lots of bloatware, though not worthy of taking off an egg

Other Thoughts: the red bottom is not as bright as it seems in the pictures, so don't be scared off it still looks professional enough to take to meetings

5 out of 5 eggsSecond Hard Drive is mSATA

Pros: Fast, light and looks great. Two hard drives - 500 GB mechanical and 32GB mSATA drive running as cache.
You can easily upgrade mSATA drive to a bigger one.

Cons: Internal battery, but that's what you get with an ultrabook. I'm not taking any stars away for that since it's a necessary sacrifice to keep the computer thin.

Other Thoughts: 32GB mSATA drive running as cache. It is not a "recovery drive", as gentleman below suggests. You could configure it as a boot drive, but 32GB is a bit small for that IMO. You can easily replace the mSATA with a bigger one, and than set it us as a boot drive.

4 out of 5 eggsLike it, but NO OPTICAL drive (CD/DVD)

Pros: Fast, lightweight, nice large keyboard, HDMI and WiDi, but I must say when I read the description I overlooked what WASN'T there, I.e., CD/DVD.

Cons: My previous Sony VAIO had two hard drives, which I eventually replaced with an boot SSD and large HDD. When I saw this one had a similar setup, I assumed the SSD was the boot drive. Not is the RECOVER drive, and unusable otherwise.
