4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for the price

Pros: *Expandability: there's plenty of room to accessorize, with three usb ports, though I don't know who would ever use that many on a laptop.
*Optional video outs: has both D-sub and HDMI outputs to connect to almost any modern display.
*Room for additional RAM: but I find the shipped 6GB is sufficient
*Spacious HDD: 750GB, while small to the intense hoarding type, is quite a bit for the average user
*Built in SDHC reader
*1.9GHz A8 quad core: is snappy for common use and much better at multi-threaded tasks than the comparable 2.7GHz A6. While not comparable to an i5 or i7, it is still relatively good. The graphics capabilities are also decent for gaming

Cons: *WINDOWS 8
*touchy trackpad
*flimsy optical drive
*no bluetooth

Other Thoughts: The Pavillion G6 suits my purposes for school and also adds a bit of availability to gaming and other entertainment. I was somewhat disappointed that there is no bluetooth connectivity. The trackpad is also chintsy, especially when using two-finger gestures; it zooms alright but scrolling doesn't work right half the time. On the plus side, it DOES have a webcam that works surprisingly well in low light; it isn't HD, but it will do.
What kept me from a five star rating is that it comes with Windows 8 installed. I don't mind the OS, but it is impractical and too roundabout in getting to what you want. If I had wanted the Xbox360 interface I would have gotten an Xbox360. But, at $339, it was a pretty good buy.
