1 out of 5 eggsHorrible design

Pros: NONE

Cons: I'm a computer technician with over 20 years experience. I've seen it all. This thing is so poorly designed that I had to write a review. In Terms of the lid and hinges this thing is completely under engineered (even by HPs pathetic standards) garbage. I have had no less than 6 of these in my small computer shop. ALL with hinges that have come away from the monitor lid. that's because HP evidently has 0 concept of leverage. The two screws per side mount into flimsy plastic. Even worse is how they cram the Wifi and camera cables inside such that even someone with decades of experience wants to throw the thing through the wall while "repairing" it. I have one piece of advise for anyone shopping for a consumer grade laptop. AVOID HP AT ALL COSTS.

4 out of 5 eggsComputer is ok

Pros: It's a great computer light weight. It supposedly has some processing power, that I have yet to use. It's a good solid computer, reasonably portable computer. The "big brother tech" function is really handy in getting your computer up and running and through the bugs.

Cons: The software is extremely glitchy out of box, until someone fixes the BIOS issues. (apparently the HP update is not enough.). Windows 8 is what it is. I don't know for the life of me what is practical about the leap motion, other than it makes your hands look cool. I'm not sure I like that I got used to the fingerpad. I mean, it's got the inverted control like topgun on the nintendo ... whatever. Maybe I'm not tech savvy, but I liked using mircosoft security essentials. The new MacAffee that is autoinstalled now works underneath the system and doesn't behave like spyware. I don't know how to uninstall it, or if I should, or if security essentials with windows 8 is enough. The computer, at least for now, is enough to keep going, and life goes on.
