1 out of 5 eggsLaptop had password on it

Pros: Fast shipping

Cons: Ordered a brand new laptop with windows 7, not refurbished. When it arrived and I started it up it had a windows account set up and it was asking me for the password, which I don't know and it didn't say what it was. Have to request a refund, this product is unusable.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Waste Your Money

Pros: None

Cons: The Bluetooth issues noted in other reviews are accurate. I made multiple attempts to install the proper software to remedy, to no avail. Not only is the wireless pitifully slow, so is essentially every other function of this laptop. Without question my WORST electronic purchase EVER.

5 out of 5 eggsHP 350

Pros: This was a great price 399 for an I3 computer that is new and performs as it should. I still prefer windows 7 that is compatible with my work VPN.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Business Laptop, memory upgrade is a must

Pros: 1. Good Screen.
2. Nice Keyboard , and toachpad.
3. Ubunty 14.04 LTS x64 compartible out of the box, including WIFI and Bluetooth drivers.
4. HP UEFI bios handles dual boot of Windows 7 x64 and Ubuntu 14.04 x64.
5. Additinal SODIMM available. Works fine: Crutial 4 Gb 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V : CT5590715
6. Win8.1 upgrade DVD included.

Cons: 1. Windows 7 . HP - Broadcom drivers download required to make WIFI and bluetooth opertional. ( For comparison: Ubuntu 14.04 x64 works out of the box ) Workaround: use Ethernet jack for Broadcom drivers download from HP web site and initial Win7 patching.
2. HP update software works well to backup Win7 from hidden partition. And pretty much useless for anything else :-(
3. McAffe antifirus slows down laptop badly. Replaced by standard Win7 defender

Other Thoughts: 1. Excellent HP hardware for the price.
2. Subpar McAffe and HP software. ( McAffe is slow junk, MS embedded antivirus is much more agile :-) )
3. Laptop is really slow with 4G RAM installed. It looks like Integrated graphics takes about 1.5 G of RAM, Win 7 pro x64 about 1G . Applications have about 1.5G to run. Obviosly not enough for professional Business use.
4. Hardware virtualization support disabled by default to avoid overheating, and extend battery life. Can be enabled in UEFI bios though.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad But Will Be Better.

Pros: It's An HP And The Price.

Cons: Could Use 4GB More Of Memory And A 4th USB Port.

Other Thoughts: Bought It To Replace My Custom Built Desktop That Just Recently Went To That Big Computer In The Sky. Plus The Advantage Of It Being Mobile. Installed 8GB Of Memory So It Now Has 12GB And It Runs Nice & Smooth. Have An SSD On It's Way Plus An Additional 8GB Of Memory. Can't Wait To Install Both.

3 out of 5 eggsMust Download

Pros: CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Yes, I know their customer service reps are all located in India. But, it doesn't take back from the fact you can talk or chat with them 24/7 using the pre-installed "HP Support Assistant." Other than that, the laptop is what it is: a $400 laptop for decent specs.

Cons: NETWORK.
What the other reviewers say is true: you MUST download the network drivers for your wi-fi to work. Checking my download speed online, it was approximately 0.5mb/s straight out of the box. I was furious, and was on customer service with HP for hours. The solution that worked was downloading all their network drivers located on their website (I can't link it because rules). Just for good measure, I downloaded 4/6 network drivers. Finally, I was able to get it to work.

1. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver and Software (American, International)
2. Ralink 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Adapter Driver
3. Ralink Bluetooth Software Driver
4. Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7.

SOUND?
I haven't checked how "loud" the sound is, but I am sure it's reduced based off of the other Newegg reviews.

Other Thoughts: Just wish HP would pre-install these drivers from the factory. Then we could decently critique this laptop instead of focusing on this ONE thing, which buries other possible issues this laptop (might?) have.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for light business use including running a projector

Pros: Windows 7 Pro, optical drive, light weight for size, decent battery life, clear display, and DVI out for projector

Cons: Size (if you are looking for a small machine this is not for you), plastic construction, and unneeded software factory installed

Other Thoughts: Bought this to use at church for MS Publisher, Powerpoint, and to run a projector for Christian education. It does all of these things well but not a great machine for running multiple programs. Keep the open windows down and it does great.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Notebook for the $$$

Pros: HP business notebook at a bargain price.
Comes with a Broadcom dual band wireless card with Bluetooth.
One 4 GB memory module. Easy to upgrade memory to 8 GB by adding a second 4 GB module.
Anti-glare screen. Runs cool, decent battery life.

4 out of 5 eggsALMOST PERFECT

Pros: 7200 RPM Hard Drive. Two USB 3 ports. They are NOT blue in color, but the have the SS logo (superspeed) and I tested them. They ARE USB 3. (one USB 2) Looks great. Fast for everyday or business computing (not for high end gaming). Great for the price. Comes with Windows 7 Professional and a Windows 8.1 Disk.

Cons: Most computers come from the factory with the sound too low even at 100%. That is an easy fix by right clicking on the sound icon on your task bar, then go to Playback Volume, then press the Speakers you are using, then press properties, then press the ENHANCEMENTS tab and the Loudness Equalization and it at LEAST 50% louder. There was NO enhancements tab until I updated the audio driver at HP's web site. Now the sound it LOUD and great!

Other Thoughts: Just download the audio driver from HP's website and then right clicking on the sound icon on your task bar, then go to Playback Volume, then press the Speakers you are using, then press properties, then press the ENHANCEMENTS tab and the Loudness Equalization and it at LEAST 50% louder. There was NO enhancements tab until I updated the sound driver at HP's web site. Now the sound it LOUD and great!
