2 out of 5 eggsDOES NOT come with the SSD

Pros: Fast even though it didn't come with the SSD it said it would. Read below I have nothing else to comment well on this.

Cons: DID NOT come with a 128GB SSD. instead came with a 250GB HDD. It is still fast, but it is NOT a SSD. I bought this for a client to now i need to return it.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Laptop for Basic Tasks

Pros: -Very quick
-Relatively portable
-Comes with SSD

Cons: -Webcam does not work (common problem with these units, even new)
-Video performance is meh, but plenty for online videos and streaming. Just don't expect high end gaming graphics.
-Small SSD, however if you don't store a lot of media or large games, 128 GB is probably enough. The trade off for the speed in my application was well worth it.

Other Thoughts: Picked this up for my fiance for a basic work/web surfing machine. She was tired of the ancient Dell laptop she had. Was really looking for speed in tasks like basic web browsing, light streaming, and google docs. I had been looking for a few weeks and this unit piqued my interest because of the SSD. Most refurb laptops in this price range I saw only came with regular 500 GB HDDs. If you don't store a lot of media, 128 GB should be enough for basic stuff, you can always hook in an external if you need more storage.

The SSD and core i5 make this laptop very snappy. Quick boot time, browser opens and runs quickly and smoothly. Nice keyboard with several quick launch buttons.

I knocked an egg off for the broken webcam. If you google the model number and webcam you'll see this is a huge problem with this particular laptop. I tried updating and reloading drivers but I'm fairly certain this is a hardware issue. Most online forums have come to the same consensus and the only sure fix is to remove and replace the webcam itself. I wish whoever did the refurb would have picked up on the issue. However this isn't a deal breaker, since you can skype on almost any smartphone these days, and my fiance rarely uses the webcam anyway. If you really need a webcam you can pick up a usb one for a few bucks. Yes it's a pain, but for everything this laptop has, I honestly still would have bought it even if I knew the webcam was broken. Plus you may get one where the webcam is working too, seems to be a 50/50 chance with these models based on what I've read.

My fiance has had this for about a month now. She takes it back and forth to her office everyday. Uses it for case notes and appointment tracking on their web based scheduling client. At home she uses it for web surfing, facebook, steaming youtube/netflix, and a light game or two every now and then. She is very happy with it and it seems to be a very good fit for her applications.

Bottom line: If you want a very fast machine for basic web surfing, document creation/editing, and web streaming, this is a great deal. If you want something that will run graphics intensive games and has a lot of storage space, look elsewhere.
