Pros: Excellent simple form factor and nicely designed. Full HD screen has great resolution, but you must adjust screen zoom to either 100% or 125% for best results. Dell ships laptop with a screen zoom of 150%, which makes texts look grainy and not sharp (not sure why they did this). Laptop is well equipped for price point and has latest Intel core processors. WiFi (Uses Intel AC 3165) is excellent and haven't had an issue connecting or maintaining a connection. Build quality seems solid and internals of laptop are easily accessible to user if you decide to replace the battery or hard drive later down the line. Touch screen is one of the better ones out there and is very responsive. Dell includes a passive stylus, but I haven't found the need to use it yet. Back-lit keyboard is nicely lit in comparison to many laptops out there and can be adjusted. Keys stokes are fine and feel similar to those on Dell XPS models.

Cons: Slow 500GB hard drive at 5400RPM. Dell screen resolution needs to be adjusted from the shipped default as text looks grainy at first. Wish the material of the laptop wasn't made of plastic. I also turned off the auto adjustment for screen brightness and screen seemed really dim at times. Turning this feature off fixed the brightness issue.

8GB RAM is sufficient, but there are no current memory upgrades available for those who want more than 8GB of memory. Only one memory slot on mainboard. Checked Crucial's website and states no upgrades available at this time.

Other Thoughts: A little awkward at first when using as a tablet since the keyboard is exposed on the bottom; but you quickly get used to it. Highly recommend to upgrade hard drive to SSD for best performance.

I was deciding between this or the new Dell XPS 13. Went this route because of the price and feature set. The Dell XPS 13 base model comes only with 4GB of RAM cannot be upgraded and about $200 more with no touch screen.

Dell does offer a Special Edition of the Inspiron 13 7000 series, which is made of higher grade materials and has a black rubber felt lid. Didn't find this model on NewEgg, but on Dell's website. Something to also maybe consider if you're looking specifically at the Inspiron line with more premium materials and the price is slightly higher, but reasonable.
