4 out of 5 eggsGOOD VALUE FOR THE PRICE

Pros: You get solid hardware for the price.

Cons: Received a bad battery right out of the box. Very short warranty if you don't buy an upgrade.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. I bought this unit as a replacement for my Grandmother’s ailing, 10 year old Gateway laptop. She loves doing basic Internet surfing and sending e-mail to family & friends. She needed a replacement but is on a fixed income so she didn’t have a ton of cash to spend on new hardware. This unit fit the bill perfectly.
I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get the “surprise” bonus others have mentioned (some have gotten 4GB of RAM instead of 2) but no big deal. As others have mentioned, this is a refurb unit, no doubt about it. The unit came with minor scuffs and scratches on casing. Also it had a bit more dirt inside than I would’ve thought. You’d think they’d take an air compressor to it and at least blow it off a little before sending it out. I also ended up getting a battery that was DOA. I will be calling next week to see about having it replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal. Happy Camper

Pros: Refurbished unit very clean. My unit looks new. No complaints. Also it came with 4 GB RAM. Lucky ducky!
All hardware tested out fine has been in service for a week with no problems. Unit came loaded with Windows 7 pro 32 bit and 64 bit. It has two Microsoft Windows 7 product key one in back of the Laptop and other inside battery case. The product key one in back of the Laptop is for 32 bit OS. Highly recommended. I am going to buy another unit for my kid.

Cons: Battery doesn't hold a charge for a long time .
Contacted the company that refurbished the unit and they shipped out a good battery with no issues.
If you have hardware issues with these units contact the company that refurbishes them. They were very prompt in responding my emails.

Other Thoughts: If you like to add a 2nd SATA Hard Drive SSD HDD LED Caddy for Dell Latitude E5410, Simply remove your CD-ROM drive and put the Caddy (with the added hard drive) in its place. I found one caddy at auction website for $14.99

1 out of 5 eggsThis is not a good deal

Pros: None, Absolutely None

Cons: So many and so little space. I will be on my third unit. First one lasted 2 weeks, second one lasted 2 days. The second one came with a bonus - dried on vomit from the previous owner(s). No refunds, only another cr@ppy, doesn't work doorstop.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself some time and money and don't purchase this.

3 out of 5 eggscould be worse.

Pros: Screen looks to be in great condition. Booted up with no problem, an haven't had any problems so far. Plus shipped really quick!

Cons: Case was a little scratched, nothing serious though. bottom right corner is a little lose. Plus the mouse pad is some what small for my liking.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop

Pros: Fast processor, Win Pro 7 already installed, and disks came with it. Advertised as having 2GB ram, but it came with 4 as others have mentioned. Keyboard is fine for refurb unit, screen is unscratched, but case was not cleaned up at all. It did NOT have extra software/ads/teaser bloatware. Nice design overall.

Cons: Cannot/will not write to a blank CD. Has the software, but the TEAC drive is read-only. Surprised me. Also no instruction manual, or a hint of how to find one online. I would like to know details on the keyboard and USB ports. But not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I have been looking for something to replace an XP desktop before April 8, this will do fine. I can (and have) plug in a keyboard, screen and speakers and use like a desktop, or take it with me as a laptop. I really like this computer.

1 out of 5 eggsupset by looking the laptop, looks USED laptop, not refurbished, lot of dirt on keyboard, broken plastic on battery, scratches on back side

Pros: none

Cons: better to disclose item as USED, instead of refurbished and confusing the customer. If used why we need to buy from here, better to buy from ebaysite with cheaper price.

Not satisfied the purchase. Be-aware when u buy refurbished item from this store, make sure it is NOT USED and dirty item, used by some one.

4 out of 5 eggsOK refurb, battery defective

Pros: Refurb unit with cosmetic damage, to be expected. All hardware tested out fine has been in service for a good two weeks with no problems from the user. Unit came loaded with Windows 7 pro but reloaded as wasn't UEFI loaded which all my systems are loaded that way if they have the option.

Cons: Battery doesn't hold a charge, drains 20% every two seconds. Contacted Newegg first, they wanted the whole unit back even though the battery is the only problem. Contacted the company that refurbished the unit and they shipped out a new battery with no issues. If you have hardware issues with these units contact the company that refurbishes them, NOT Newegg as they'll want the whole unit back. (Saves time if you have them in production)

Other Thoughts: Can't stress enough, contact the refurbishing company and not Newegg if you have hardware issues with a unit. Newegg was going to send a replacement once they received the unit, but that's a long downtime as they won't send one for 3-5 business days from when they receive. You also are taking the chance of getting a bad unit when all you need is a new battery. Seems this is a major issue with refurbished laptops, the battery being DOA.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: -Price was definitely cheap considering how much this laptop was brand new when it first came out

-Runs very quiet and not too hot

-Overall condition was spectacular

-Came with 4GB of RAM instead of 2

Cons: -very dirty upon arrival, could have used an air compressor before packaging, but not a very serious con just kind of annoying

-left mouse button feels as though its been used roughly, does not have a smooth click

-there is a scuff on the lcd that took me a while to notice at first, its a more expensive part on the laptop to replace, so thats why im giving this review 3 stars instead of 4 because I was lead to believe that I was buying a product in decent shape

-Battery was not tested as well. Only works for about 2 hours on a full charge, was going to invest in a better battery anyway so its not too much of a con for me, but future buyers beware.

Other Thoughts: All in all, it was definitely a good buy, I noticed about a 70 dollar increase in price since I bought mine ($279) and given the state of the laptop I wouldnt have paid a dime over what I did actually pay because I did invest in a new palm rest/ keyboard and a top cover for this laptop which have costed me about 70 dollars as well. But thats only because Im being picky and as this is a gift I want it to appear newer even if it isnt.

I noticed some people had a problem with the 64bit windows being installed on their laptops, mine was pre-installed with windows professional 64bit, and in the box the 64bit/32bit windows professional was also included.

Dont be deterred from the cons if you dont care about a few cosmetic scuffs here and there, I highly recommend purchasing this computer... Although a word of the wise, is to not expect a brand new product. These units are only refurbished in the sense that they've been wiped and probably had at most a hardware upgrade of RAM and/or Hard drive.
But brand new these were running upwards of 1000+ dollars and replacing a few parts here and there and still staying under half of the cost of what this laptop was, is a huge bargain and success in my honest opinion.
