Pros: I've always been a desktop guy(Still am) but this laptop is fast and reliable, I can play most modern games on it and it handles multitasking like a champ. I can't think of anything this laptop can't do. I mean just look at the features:
1. Core i7 CPU/Turbo 3.20GHz
2. 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM
3. Nvidia GTX 635M
4. 1TB Hard Drive
5. 17.3 Inch screen
6. I can take this beauty/beast anywhere with me
7. Windows 8 is awesome(took me 2 days to get used to it)
I thought I would regret this buy but I have not had any regrets yet.

Cons: 1. Gets HOT while gaming
2. 5200 RPM hard drive?? Really?? At Least a 7200RPM would have been better.
3. The price, $879.99 now, I bought it when it was $729.99
4. They load all kinds of unnecessary software that I don't use and uninstalled most of them.

Other Thoughts: This laptop is a great performer and there are endless possibilities with it, but for the price I bought it for, I can not complain, I still think its worth it at the current price.
IF U WANT A FAST LAPTOP CAPABLE OF BLAZING SPEEDS BUY IT!

Pros: Beautiful screen, keyboard, and touch pad. Haven't found something that wasn't wonderful about the construction of this laptop. Best part, a wonderful introduction to Windows 8. I was a huge fan of Windows 7, but Win8 is even better. All of your security stuff (firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware) is built right in, no need for third party security software.

Cons: You will have to get rid of the McAfee that comes preloaded and turn on the Windows Defender manually. A bit of bloatware, but remember, the bloatware keeps the price down! Just delete what you don't want.

Other Thoughts: Wish it was a touch screen, but it wasn't worth the extra cost this time a round.

Pros: Great computer for price. We even use it for some photo and video editing which it can handle quite well.

Cons: bloat ware. Just uninstall most programs that come with it and this is a mute issue

Other Thoughts: Great laptop for price that was paid. Got it for $750 on a newegg sale. Not quite the bargan at full price, but if you wait for a sale you will be happy.

Pros: Runs great. No problems or issues so far

Cons: HUGE con: NO MUTE BUTTON!? This is a feature I use a lot because I listen to music while working and have to mute the laptop when I get a phone call. Quite annoying

Pros: Really powerful computer for its price. Good gaming pc.
Also very light.
Delivered within the time frame promised.

Cons: As some have mentioned, microphone placement is rather strange (next to where your mouse would be). But this is not really an issue if you get a headset.

Other Thoughts: I want to say that Windows 8 is not even as bad as people are saying it is. It is not even that different from previous windows. I was expecting a lot of trouble with Windows 8 when I read the reviews, but when I got the pc, it took me less than an hour to figure the basics out (I am not even that good with computers). Also, this part about windows should NOT factor in how you rate the laptop itself.

Pros: Super fast start up, amazing graphics and a very good price. I love the large screen and how easy and light my laptop is. I use this for schooling as well as gaming at AIT for the Army. Would recommend to any one who wants a sweet laptop for a great price.

Cons: Windows 8

Pros: Excellent laptop for the price you pay or should I say I paid!
If you can use Windows 8 then I recommend keeping it installed.
Once I installed Windows 7, I could use the virtualization technology to test the peripherals extensively, performance was excellent or as expected.
Graphics are excellent but cannot do some of the latest/greatest games with their optimal settings.
Tested Linux configurations as well, no NVIDIA drivers for Linux.

Cons: Hard drive is a little too slow for my liking but that is subjective to personal use.
Windows 8 is limited on virtualization features which I need as an IT professional and student but others may not.
Finger prints and smudges show easily.
Finding good cooling pads can be tricky.
Mouse occasionally will move without touching actual pad.
Battery life is short if you do not adjust your display.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very satisfied with the machine. Out of the box configuration has great performance for the average user as stated by my family. IT Professionals may want to mitigate certain downfalls. I certainly would buy another one for the price I paid. Shipping was faster than expected, Newegg was quick to process my order. Any complaints about this machine or Newegg should be met with criticism by the readers, I kept my review fair and tried to be impartial.

USB port stopped functioning - already 3 times had to reinstall drivers
cannot install: Skype, Java , Bittorrent

Other Thoughts: Bought it because my friend recommended. My friend is using it for work only, does not install anything, does not play music, so he he happy with this machine

Pros: very easy to use the touch pad is responsive and windows 8 runs very smooth. the one touch back up software that is preloaded works amazing and took less than 30 minutes to back up a disc image to my external hard drive using usb 3.0, video card is very nice for 3d modeling programs and I'm sure once I have some games installed it will take those with no problems.

Cons: windows 8, the live tiles are nice for touch screens and tablets but not so much for standard laptops I bought start8 for $5 and that has made all the difference gave me my start menu back and can boot directly to the desktop, the other complaint is that the screen does seem a little washed out with the back light but can adjust all the settings, and the microphone placement is a poor choice but if you are using it for gaming then you should already have a headset and not use the built in mic.

Other Thoughts: this is a great laptop for the price the video card is awesome with 3d modeling software no lag what so ever. I would definitely buy another one and recommend this laptop to other people. only reason I didn't give a 5 star is windows 8 not giving you the option to boot to the desktop and having to buy a program to get the os to do something that it should do in the first place but that is on micro$oft not lenovo

Pros: 17.3". 8GB DDR3. 1TB HD. 2GB dedicated graphics. HDMI out. USB 3.0.
looks nice. everyone that sees it says "wow, cool".

Cons: 5400prm HD. should come with a Windows 8 install disc so you can format HD and install without all the crapware.

Other Thoughts: overall it is really nice compared to what else you find in this 17" price range. nothing too special but still top of the line. really wanted a stronger gpu but for the 1TB HD and 8GB RAM it made the deal worth it.

plays Tomb Raider with a mix of low and ultra settings. texture details all turned all the way up but AA, shadows, other effects down. benchmarked around 40-45fps.
other game i've installed so far is Divinity 2 re-release, runs 40-50fps with everything all the way up.
