Pros: None at this point

Cons: Drops WiFi after first Windows 8 update and becomes a brick. Also, if you aren't looking dead on to the screen, the visuals stink, Hoping for an exchange.

3 out of 5 eggsGo home Lenovo, you're drunk..

Pros: It seems more than capable of handling everything I need it to with some minor adjustments. Windows 8 seems to be the biggest fault software wise with this laptop.

Cons: Where to start...

Wireless card is subpar at best. This has been commented on on several other reviews I've read for this laptop, so I won't dwell on it. I recommend if you're more than 30 or so feet from your router, just hardline it if you can. I work from home and have an office behind my garage where I use this primarily, and while I can get a connection and it works for browsing purposes, the software I use needs to have at least a 10/mbps connection and this just cannot pull those speeds wirelessly.

The battery life has also already been spoken to in other reviews, so I won't stay on this long. I haven't had a chance to really test the life of it, but it seems some people have a skewed view of what a stock laptop battery should be..If it doesn't last long, well, plug it in. Easy enough.

Now the REAL issues I've found with this machine.

-Mic location and quality: Again, I work from home. I provide technical support for a particular website that shall remain unnamed. My desktop machine, a Lenovo ThinkCentre, one day decided it was a rocket and initiate it's take of sequence, or at least that's what it sounded like. Being an older machine, we decided screw it, just not worth it to try to fix and so my boss got me this one. Being tech support, I talk on the phone, ALOT, and usually use a headset, but from time to time, I will use the mic on my webcam (like if I am training someone and they need to hear the conversations as well). The mic on this laptop is located on the lower left corner by the CTRL key on the keyboard. It picks up EVERY LITTLE SOUND the laptop makes, such as the hdd spinning up or the fan kicking on. IT does not however pick up ANY sound you actually want it to. Seriously, it sounds as though you are hanging your head out the window of a speeding car going through a tunnel, under water. Do not use it if you can avoid it.

-The other issue is the location of the speakers. I have had many laptops in the past, ranging from Toshiba's to HP's to Dell's, had a Compaq for a while even. All of my other laptops have had the speakers either on the top of the body of the laptop under the screen, or on the screen itself. I think I had one that had the speakers on the back under the screen even. The geniuses at Lenovo said "No! Normal is not good enough for the G780!" and in their infinite wisdom placed the speakers on the bottom under the front lip of the laptop. Now I want you to think about that for a minute. Where does a laptop typically sit if not on a desk/table? You're lap right? Now what part of the laptop is resting on your legs? Uh huh, that's right, the front lip. Way to go Lenovo, great job!

Other Thoughts: It is what it is. We got it on sale, and for the price I can't complain too much really. Since this is my work machine, I use it in my office, plugged in and hardlined, with a headset, so all in all it works for me. But if you're not intending to use it in the roughly the same manner, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Pros: Bang for the buck.

Cons: Windows 8. Fingerprint magnet.

Other Thoughts: So far very pleased. Came with a fully charged battery and setup was easy after I dug up network password for WiFi. After transferring settings from old laptop things were cool.
