1 out of 5 eggsTouchpad - Embarrasing

Pros: Beautiful design, low weight, great performance.

Cons: Touch pad does not fit in design. Not working at any time.

Other Thoughts: I tried to keep it, but it was impossible. The problems are more than the benefits. Tired of tried I sent it back and get another. Shame of you, IBM!!!

1 out of 5 eggsOS not installed on SSD

Pros: Price and looks nice.

Cons: I returned my first one because the OS (unsable Windows 8) wasn't installed on the SSD. Lenovo was no help with that. Said since I know how I should just do it myself. I returned it for a replacement and second one has same issue. Like the other reviews, the touchpad is horrendous. I usually use a mouse with my laptops, but it is still nice to have a working touchpad. Guess they skimped on the hardware to get the specs up so high for the price.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted to love this pc. With a 750GB HDD + SSD and 8 GB RAM and dedicated memory it seemed too good to be true, apparently it was.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this model...

Pros: Great specs

Cons: The track pad is useless making this Ultraportable Ultrabook neither...

If you want to use this computer, prepare to bring a mouse with you wherever you go. The track pad will randomly jump around even if you are nowhere near the computer and is unresponsive when you try to use it.

Don't believe me? Go check out the 20+ page post in Lenovo forums about this model. I didn't bother sending this in for repair as the people that sent their computers in had the exact same problem when they got it back from Lenovo.

Other Thoughts: I was asked by my sister to help find her a replacement computer as her old Dell Studio finally kicked the bucket. She is currently going through college so she wanted something light and powerful; What else better to try then a Ultrabook?

I work IT for a large company. We purchase only Lenovo Thinkpads (rather then the Ideapad) which is the IBM business computer side that Lenovo bought a few years back. We have had nothing but success with the W5** series... If you are going to purchase a Lenovo laptop, stick to the Think group and stay away from the Idea group...

2 out of 5 eggsFlaky Touchpad

Pros: Very light, sleek, modern design, surprisingly sturdy construction, and powerful. Everything ran fast and smooth, could wirelessly stream 1080p video without issue (not that it can display 1080, but still).

Cons: Terrible touchpad (more below), speakers are quite weak making watching video or listening to music a disappointment. Keyboard felt imprecise and my typing errors increased noticeably while using it, but that might have just been lack of familiarity with it. 1366x768 is pretty much the same resolution I have on my 6+ year old laptop and is just barely enough for the 15.6" screen. This resolution is pretty ubiquitous among similar laptops currently on the market, but for a laptop this size, it's worth investing more money in a laptop with a higher resolution. Oh, and just in case you weren't aware, Windows 8 is ridiculous, but that's not Lenovo's fault at all, they just have to suffer for it.

Other Thoughts: I was on the fence when I got this laptop. It's style and performance were a huge attraction, and the price is insanely good, so I almost kept it. But after a week of use, I had to return it because I couldn't stand the touchpad. Sometimes it worked perfectly (usually on battery; noisy reference voltage or bad ground isolation on AC maybe?), but then sometimes it would take on a mind of its own. If I held my finger still, it would wobble around on the screen, making it nearly impossible to click on small check boxes (and often tapping the pad to click would move the cursor). At times, the cursor would move when I wasn't even touching the pad. Occasionally, the left click would stop responding, or it would start dragging windows around instead of just moving the cursor. If you left your thumb too close to the left/right click areas, it would think you were trying a multi-touch gesture and freak out. Every now and then when trying to scroll the curser to the right, you would accidentally trigger the swipe right gesture and it would switch programs on you (for me, it kept switching to the People program, which would take me into the Metro UI and I would have to go back to the start screen and then to the desktop to get back to what I was working on). Lenovo includes a driver utility that allows you to adjust the sensitivity and turn off certain gesture responses, but I was never able to get it to a point where I could use the computer without wanting to pull my hear out at some point. I've since returned it for a refund; I thought perhaps I just had a bad touchpad and a replacement might work better, but at this price, I'm willing to bet shoddy engineering is to blame.
