4 out of 5 eggsGreat quality laptop for the price you pay.

Pros: Great laptop all around besides the few cons mentioned below. Overall for the price this laptop is really going to be perfect for most average users. In this price range i found for me this was the best choice.

Cons: The reason i couldn't give this 5 starts was for a few reasons, was going to give it 3 stars but i really love this laptop after the somewhat simple fixes. The 2gb of ram is a joke. I upgraded to 6gb and it truly makes the laptop perfect for me and will for most users.

Also, the bloatware that Lenevo includes is really annoying and almost all of it is unnecessary. I reinstalled windows 7 and solved that problem too.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent laptop, once you get past the initial setup.

Pros: Price, matte finish on screen, excellent keyboard, Win7 for those that hate 8, optical drive included.

Cons: The laptop is more or less unusable out of the box. The Windows install failed for me, too, and 2GB of RAM isn't enough with all of the bloatware included. A fresh install of Windows fixed all of those issues, but a recovery CD is not included, so I had to download an iso of Win7 pro from Microsoft. Hopefully you have another PC to do this on... lol. Acquiring the proper drivers was a bit of a hassle, too. Lenovo's support site isn't very well designed.

Once I got it running, it works well enough, but frankly 2GB of RAM isn't enough. I upgraded days after my purchase.

Once I got it up

Other Thoughts: I use it for school exclusively. Once I upgraded the RAM and installed a fresh copy of Windows, it was perfect for my needs.

1 out of 5 eggsdont buy newegg laptops

Pros: Pros: Its a thinkpad so it has less bad features than the rest of the awful laptops out there

The keyboard feels pretty nice, along with the thinkpad pointer.

Cons: The laptop comes with bloatware and an unusable Windows installation. It comes with 2G ram in an era when 4 is standard. The touchpad is horrible and is only usable if you change about 20 settings in the thinkpad driver. Of course, the drivers can only be found in Google;I did not find them easily on lenovo/thinkpad website.

The cd drive feels cheaper than the hard plastic used to package my device. It will break after 50 uses.

Other Thoughts: I learned that one does not simply return a laptop to newegg. Their hard line policy would be easier to stomach if products like the E430c were not so poorly made;made for the dump.

I installed windows on this thing and am currently fuming because the fan is revving up and down despite being cool to the touch. Of course, there is no fan control.

What else...

Apparently, you cant open a laptop from newegg to check it out. Apparently, you cant put a new copy of windows on it to actually try and use it either(the
original install is unusable).
