5 out of 5 eggsCool laptop

Pros: Light, fun and easy to use. Nice touches all around. Can compile, surf and play wow and rift

Cons: Bit pricey, track pad gets in the way of typing sometimes

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: I like the build quality. Win8 is OK on touch screens and am getting used to it. I got the i7, 8GB, 256GB so am happy with speed, memory and storage.

Cons: Too bad this doesn't have digitizer...would have gotten 5 stars easy. Not crazy about the keyboard being exposed when in full flip tablet mode.

Other Thoughts: Have been installing big apps MS Office Pro, Project Pro, VISIO Pro etc and it is working well. Still takes some getting used to with Win8 but getting there. Not sure why newegg isn't showing the i7 version anymore...maybe price...

5 out of 5 eggsafter 2 months - call it a 4.5

Pros: Beautiful display, thin, useful and used in all modes. Keyboard is beyond expectation for such a thin profile - excellent tactile response. When spouse took the the Yoga to a company sponsored Powerpoint class the Lenovo outpaced every other computer in the room - laptop or desktop. fast fast fast - great performer. Video is way beyond adequate for anything other than water cooled power gaming.
Best Windows tablet/laptop status symbol of the year.

Cons: Biggest gripe is the 2.5 minute shutdown required for Wndows 8. My Acer Atom Netbook with Win 7 on Samsung SSD boots in 15 seconds and shuts down in 5 seconds with exactly same software installed. No help from Lenovo, Microsoft, or bulletin boards. Every suggestion accomplishes zero. Have some faith that the major update to Win 8 due this summer will fix the problems.

Cannot read Sandisk Ultra micro SD card 32GB (in adapter) - afraid to spend money on a 64 or 128 GB SDXC card until I understand limitations or special requirements. 3.3 lb is a bit heavy for an "ultrabook" but perhaps necessary for rigidity of the thin keyboard and screen. Still much lighter than any of the previous HP or Lenovo business laptops.

Single memory slot is simply not acceptable. 2 mSata but only one DDR3? what sense?

Other Thoughts: What I thought was a wifi switch is actually screen image rotation lock (as described in previous review).
Lack of optical drive has not been a problem.
The 128 GB SSD is OK for now but will become a limitation in a year or so. Will probably go to 256 and not use the 2nd mSATA slot.
Could not use Microsoft Windows 7 VM in the Windows 8 environment. Not really expected but a slight disappointment.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent In-betwen Laptop!

Pros: I've had the laptop for 3+ months now. It is my only PC and I am glad that I made the choice. I was on the fence about the design. I thought it might be gimmicky but that is NOT the case. Excellent, sturdy design makes this an outstanding machine. Packed with an i5 processor, the machine is not sluggish in any way.

I have not found anything that I cannot do with it yet. I write programs, game and use it as a tablet. Windows 8 is awesome. The laptop cold boots to login screen in ~5 seconds. Wow.

If you don't need an absolute powerhouse machine, this is the perfect machine. Cheaper than most laptops with these capabilities. All of the benefits of a laptop with a tablet thrown in. You won't regret this purchase.

Everyone who has seen it wants it. Great job, Lenovo.

Cons: Small HD (128GB). Go for the bigger option or get yourself a USB 3 flash drive to use to add more storage.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: This laptop is absolutely awesome. Very good design and quality. Love the flip screen. I bought this for my wife's work, and she loves it. She has never used windows 8 before, and she was little bit scared. She loves the laptop now. Also, whenever people see, they never fail to notice it and ask about it. Also, it is great as a tablet, especially in the 270* tilt, it is really good.
Everyday I just use this in tablet mode, and it is a winner. Touch screen is good, and tablet mode is simply very good.

Cons: Opening the screen is little difficult, not a big deal, but could have provided a hinge so it is easy to open the screen.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for mobile laptop + tablet, there is nothing that beats this yoga.

4 out of 5 eggsNear Perfection

Pros: Build Quality, Screen Quality, Touchscreen, Keyboard tactile; Latest Intel Processors, Ability to add a 2nd SSD

Cons: Lacks WiDI, Lacks Backlit Keyboard, Battery Life is Very Good, but not Great; Difficulty to change Memory or add 2nd SSD

Other Thoughts: I've been searching for a new laptop for more than 12 months... initially I passed over this laptop thinking its flexibility was gimmicky. But after trying it out at a local store, I realized this was a very good quality machine, and it had most of the features I wanted/needed. It is light, and thin, and the Touchscreen is much more important with Win8.

My only reservations are that it lacks keyboard backlighting, and it lacks widi--the intel competitor to airplay. Lenovo, please make these features after market upgrades so I can add them--PLEASE.

Otherwise, I am extremely happy; BTW, my kids both have MacBook Pro's and both are envious.

1 out of 5 eggsBeautifully designed BUT...

Pros: Beautifully designed and executed. very slick. light, huge screen, fast charging.

Cons: the idea is great, but execution did not follow. tablet part is sluggish and not intuitive. things don't work the way you would expect touch screen to react.
my guess is this is software issue, not hardware, but the problem is, there is no alternative if you need Windows as I do. I am sure given a couple of years, this will be great, but for now, it's a dud.

5 out of 5 eggsRevised opinion - Wonderful!

Pros: With the Yoga for only 2 weeks and Win 8 has been a bit of a learning experience. After years of engineering, CAD, Excel, PPT, Word focus have found that I am now turning to the Yoga as an entertainment device. Wonderful. My wife loves it - may have to buy another.
My Android and Kindle are in the drawer. The Yoga is a big bright great Kindle reader.

Cons: For the price not much to complain about. It could use another USB port but no real problem. Minor software issues remain; ie mouse pointer selection does not stick when use mode changes.

Other Thoughts: At desk used with Samsung 24 HDMI. Great match. Touch display complements the large 2nd display nicely. My long dead and useless Microsoft mouse resurrected itself when used with the Lenovo. The drivers worked for a welcome change for the first time in 2 years.
Ouch - upon return to Malaysia found the Orange version i5 with slip on case at the Lenovo dealer for same price I paid in the US. The world is changing.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the new laptop standard.

Pros: Great high resolution screen, responsive touch screen, great overall fit and finish, textures, better mouse than most other ultrabooks I've used, sturdy hinge, battery life, Overall size.

Cons: Only 2 USB, 1HDMI, 1 Audio.

I wish there was a cover for the keyboard when it was in tablet form.

Other Thoughts: I have sold these to customers and will be buying one when my Macbook Pro dies.

Great performance for todays web based computing. This is the laptop that windows 8 was designed for. Full fledged tablet usage, great screen, with actual PC features like windows programs, USB, and office.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad but not great

Pros: Light weight, Really fast start up and shutdown. Nice screen with good specs. Touch screen works well. Windows 8 also works well. Good battery life. Upgrading memory is really easy.

Cons: Build quality is just OK. Keyboard is not very good. Too bouncy making the unit feels kinda cheap compared to my macbook air.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded to 8GB immediately and got rid of some installed programs. Tablet mode is interesting but it's too heavy for long periods of use. Overall not a bad price for all the features you get. I'll see how it holds up on the road.
