2 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Games run surprisingly well for a budget laptop. You won't get stellar performance, but it's serviceable. Fast boot times.

Cons: The viewing angle is really bad. However, the biggest con is the networking. I have constant issues with the wifi and the ethernet stopped working on first use! These issues alone are enough for me to not recommend purchasing this laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsWouldn't buy again

Pros: Cost wasn't toobad

Cons: Had to buy another network card because the internal one would drop internet connection constantly, keyboard keys would stop working, windows 8 is godawful, not as fast I thought it would be and would lag in most programs

Other Thoughts: It's terrible and I pretty much regret buying this

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Office use

Pros: Decent speed, sturdy case, good hardware combo for the money. It does what I need it to do.

Cons: No caps lock indicator, Windows 8, lol.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cheap laptop

Pros: Sturdy, i5 CPU, very nice keyboard, BIOS button, USB 3.0 and an extra 2.0 port on the right side for your mouse

Cons: Screen is rather poor; even the slightest angle off will create that glare you get from looking at a screen from an angle. The touchpad has a springy sound to it, but nothing that kills me. Oddly, the function keys won't work unless you use the Fn key..never seen a laptop like that. Works good for the media keys though which don't require the Fn key to be held. I've come to like the idea more since I use the media keys more than the function keys. Though it's annoying to swap bash shells with if you're into Linux.

COMES WITH WINDOWS 8!

Other Thoughts: For the price, it's a nice laptop indeed. I wish they put on a better monitor though..not impressed with this one but I can see things and watch my videos so I can't complain much. It has all the featuers I need and gets the job done, which is primarily light-duty work such as notes, videos, and such. I use my desktop for the heavier stuff like VMs and games and such. This is definitely a sturdy laptop. My 100lb dog stood on it 2x and there are no claw marks or anything on it nor is there any damage to the monitor!

I got rid of Windows 8. Didn't want it. I installed Linux Mint 16 XFCE instead and it's MUCH better with Linux. There was no multi-touch abilities with Windows 8, but it worked right away with Linux.

5 out of 5 eggstook a 16GB Ram upgrade... follow the specs: CL etc.. they work!

Pros: I spent the money and ordered a Crucial Ram set 2x 8GB chips at 144.00 on other site... here it is 156ish. Runs even faster now.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggs8.1 wireless problems?

Pros: great price, very fast!

Cons: wireless issues with win 8.1

Other Thoughts: My laptop would connect via wireless, but only get "limited access".

Ended up installing the win8 drivers from the Lenovo website to fix it! (not the win8.1)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works well, easy getting started (except for win8) I don't like it now but I'm getting used to it after I updated to 8.1 but the notebook has been working great. setting up the router and other things went good.

Cons: no complaints

2 out of 5 eggsBeware the Insyde BIOS !

Pros: The Pros are already listed.

Cons: You people need to wise up like Europe did. It's time to boycott Newegg until they are willing to tell you what motherboard and more importantly what BIOS is included with the computer. Microsoft is paying these manufacturers millions of dollars to include their new Insyde UEFI instead of Phoenix or American Megatrends. Why ? They lock you out of features included with the Intel CPU. Why ? Find out for yourself !

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Choice

Pros: Price, Quality, Battery Life, Features. Lenovo is a very well built product.

Cons: The only thing that annoys me about it and the rest of the laptop/notebooks on the market, is that the touch pad is off to the left and it makes you use both hands, if you are right handed. A little bit awkward.

Other Thoughts: After having Toshiba laptops for years, I couldn't find one configured the way I wanted and at a price point I was comfortable with. I saw this in the Newegg Columbus Day Sale emailer and picked it up for less than laptops with a lot less processing power and quality. The Intel i5 has a ton of processing power and runs everything I have, effortlessly. The 4 cores and 3.2GB Turbo make multi-tasking a breeze. I swapped in a spare OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (loaded with Win 7 Pro) and 8GB of G. Skill matched RAM. Wow!! It's a Rocket Ship! Boot to Desktop in less then 10 seconds. Another thing is that it came with the 6 cell Li-Cylin battery. Many of the other brands are coming with the non-replaceable batteries and AMD is integrating the A series processors for laptops, into the MB. Didn't want any of that. I can't believe how long the charge lasts. After 3 hours on high-perf, it still had 68%. I'm "Really" Impressed with this laptop. Only problem is that I won't have the patience to use the pc's at work ..
