Can I install a 64bit WIN7 on this computer?

Yes you can. You have to open the BIOS and change it from UEFI to Legacy before you can do it, though. I have it running on mine and it works great. The drivers are available on Lenovo's support website.

They were not Pre-Installed on the Notbook I purchased.

Is the ram 204 pin?  for adding in a second module?

Yes it is a 204 SO-DIMM.  I would recommend buying two instead of one. It's best to have the same RAM in both slots as RAM has many different timing and speeds and they should be identical.

Can I replace Windows 8 with Windows 7 without spending additional money to purchase an OEM or retail fresh install Win7 disc/license? I have software that I need to run that will not support Windows 8 for a while. I see some discussion of Downgrade Rights on the M$ site but I'm still not sure if that means anybody can downgrade any Win8 machine to Win7 using any Win7 media they have on hand using (the key from the Win8 machine they just bought??) Thanks in advance.

I purchased this for my father on this past Christmas.  And yes, like any other pre-built laptops from bigger manufacturers, this does come with a lot of software installed.

I didn't really find it to difficult to uninstall them though.  Also, found a few out of the dozen that actually seemed useful to keep.

how does this compare to a inspiron 15 non-touch which has a 3 gen intel core i3?

Hard to compare performance with anything, as the OEM hard drive is a slow 5400 RPM boat anchor.   If you upgrade to an SSD on your own, performance would be at the top of the charts.   Likewise, if your favorite apps don't perform a lot of disk read/writes, then performance is great.
