1 out of 5 eggsNot good.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: such a massive headache.. no matter how many different things I tried I could not get this computer to stop crashing. even after using the last resort of tech support from Newegg and Lenovo it still crashes. Btw this is the SECOND LAPTOP, newegg replaced one for me already and same issues.

2 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: Excellent specs
Excellent screen (Full HD 1920x1080)
Back-lit keyboard
USB 3.0
Decent Linux Support

Cons: Terrible Optimus support. Games are constantly crashing, Sony Vegas constantly crashes, Adobe After Effects constantly crashes, etc. Not to mention annoying as hell BSOD.

Other Thoughts: I know it may be just this model but it really doesn't encourage me to buy another Lenovo product for a while.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible!

Pros: Screen looked nice. Speakers were surprisingly decent.

Cons: Terrible graphics card. Cheap keyboard. Drivers not compatible with Windows 8.1

Other Thoughts: I liked the specs of this laptop and wanted something I could do moderate to light gaming on with a 17.3 inch monitor.

After installing Windows 8.1, this thing went to garbage. Would not recognize my tv correctly via HDMI cord. The Nvidia card does not play well at all with Windows 8.1 and the Intel card. Civilization 5? BSOD. Star Wars? Crashed. Couldn't even install World of Warcraft. And eventually my video card locked up watching game trailers in Steam!

In fact, Windows Action Center reported my Nvidia card crashed 293 times! New drivers didn't work. Rolling back drivers didn't work either. If you game, don't waste your time on this one.

4 out of 5 eggsIf you get BSOD

Pros: Cheap
Stays cool
Runs well once bloatware is uninstalled

Cons: Tons of worthless software included. Causes system crashes.

Other Thoughts: If you get the blue screen of death while playing games or switching between full screen and windowed browsing, uninstall the on board McAfee software. It is what is causing the issue. Don't know why they decided to include incompatible software, but they did.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: Has an on board nvidia graphics card. Can play graphically demanding games such as Half Life 2 and Portal 2. Bought it to take to work between answering phones, it suits my purpose perfectly.

Cons: I didn't expect it to be so large. Not really a con, but it barely fits into my backpack. Though the size does come in handy for when I play games. The graphics card isn't actually attached to the monitor, according GeForce experience, which is a program to configure how the computer processes the graphics. From my interpretation of the program, the card only stands as the physx processor, while the integrated video processor does all of the actual graphics. Granted it does take the stress off of the CPU, but I think that the performance would be significantly better if the monitor was actually wired to the card.

Other Thoughts: I only had a problem with shipping. I paid for 2 day shipping, but it took 4 days for the package to get to me. Doesn't merit any loss of rating for the product, but I feel I should mention it.

2 out of 5 eggsIts alright...

Pros: It has a really good screen, and the look of the computer is very slick.

Cons: If you play WoW, you will get the BSOD a lot of the time. Since thats a lot of what I do, it doesn't work very well for what I want.

Other Thoughts: Also, since it has both the integrated HD 4600 and Nvidia GeForce GT 745M, I feel like I'm not getting the kind of performance that I should be getting. And With the Dual Graphics card and Windows 8, it doesn't work well together at all.

3 out of 5 eggsReasonably fast but bad screen with viewing angles.

Pros: Decent graphics card, I was able to play Tomb Raider, Hitman Absolution, and BF4 at console quality (Mid to High settings). The system is also reasonably quiet, only gets loud after about 40 minutes of gaming. The bootup is fast, the screen is large, it overalls feels snappy.

Cons: Well the screen is not that great, yes its 1080P, yes its bright, and yes the screen is big. With that said the colors are faded, the viewing angles left/right, up/down looks just about as bad as LCD monitors in 2003.

My other problem with this laptop is the missing Blu Ray drive. I know there's Netflix, Hulu, Prime, and Flixster I can watch in 1080P, but I would like to have the option to pop a blu ray in.

My last problem with this laptop is the average CPU. Dual core with hyperthreading, its good enough for games, but when I try to compress my blu ray movies down using Hand Brake, get ready to be waiting 3 hours or more. Having Winword 2013, and Power Point open the same time I notice my laptop became choppy. So its abit slow when multi tasking, still a good laptop, but comparing this to my late 2011 HP Envy Quad Core, I'm some what disappointed.

Other Thoughts: I like this laptop, besides my long list of complaints, if the viewing angles were better this would have gotten 4 eggs, add a blue drive, 5 eggs. If you dock this PC and buy a decent monitor, this laptop will satisfy most power users.

1 out of 5 eggsthis computer sucks!

Pros: starts up very fast, good for office use.

Cons: worst machine for gaming, crashes, gaming is not good for windows 8.

Other Thoughts: the first day i got this laptop it had a goof feeling, very good feeling. When i came back from work the next day i had all of my games installed (borderlands2, WoW etc...) when i tried first opening wow my laptop crashed about 20 times trying to figure out what was wrong with the laptop. For some reason the laptop wireless connection is blocking connections on some games so i cant play with friends. Im going to send it back soon. I figured out the error was to update my video card, i did, but it did not fix the problem i am currently having. Overall, as we speak i am not a happy customer and this laptop is horrible for gaming.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: + Great hardware for the price. Full HD screen, back-lit keyboard, dedicated NVidia GPU, 4th gen Intel CPU, and great size HDD.

+ Very easy access to components in the bottom, just 3 screws and everything is accessible.

+ Plays most games very well, Starcraft II, FFXIV and Skyrim all run good/great.

+ Screen is quite bright on the highest setting (see more below).

Cons: - Screen. I'm kind of torn on how good it is. It is full HD and bright, but the viewing angles are pretty poor. If you're looking at it from the proper angle then it's great, but even slightly wrong tilt or angle and it rapidly changes colors and clarity.

- Keyboard. Lots of flex in the keyboard, it just seems cheap. The back light is great and the larger amount of spacing between the keys takes getting used to, but once you do get used to it, it's nice.

- Trackpad. Just as much flex as the keyboard, if not more. It's plain cheap. I've even had it stop functioning entirely while doing things, restarting the PC fixed it.

- Windows 8. I don't like Windows 8 and installed Windows 7. It's pretty clear that this machine was designed to use Windows 8, and it takes some work to get it working. Lenovo recently added some Windows 7 drivers, but I still feel like this laptop doesn't like it. I'd recommend not going down this road unless you feel like really messing with it.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a decent laptop but I don't think I'd buy it again if given the chance. As another review said the video playback seems... blurry in some situations. I can't quite figure out why, sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not although games are always clear.

The 4-cell battery is pretty small considering the hardware inside the laptop, but if you have a laptop this size chances are you aren't going for mobility. Battery lasts 2-4 hours depending on use.
