5 out of 5 eggsLenovo Y510P

Pros: it stomps any game i own right into the ground. can play the new metal gear phantom pain with all on high if not ultra and it looks beautiful! the gt cards are intermediate as far as the card series go but in SLI it wrecks on games like youd think. dual core i5 with hyperthreading is sufficient for med and above gaming so it works well in this system. backlight keyboard is always a plus, has the option of turning it off. speakers are brag worthy and overall i am more than pleased with this machine!

Cons: running dual gpu's will get this thing pretty toasty that its uncomfortable to sit on your lap with but you can always add a cooling pad for it and help with that. nonetheless heat output is expected from two gpus so i guess this isnt so much a con what can you expect from a portable desktop if you will

Other Thoughts: the power supply for this bad boy is monstrous! i accidentally walked over it and noticed i elevated about an inch and a half off the ground the thing is a platform its so huuge! plan on frying an egg on it that it gets nasty hot at times haha

5 out of 5 eggsLenovo Y510P

Pros: this laptop is a perfect portable replacement desktop as it can run every game i own at high settings or better!

fast sshd combo which boots up from off to desktop in about 8 seconds. (could be faster if i didnt have to type a password in everytime but thats beside the point)

i5 4200m processor is a dual core with hyper-threading (but that doesnt mean its equivalent to a quadcore, not by a large margin)

Cons: gets hot even with a cooling pad but what can you expect when packing two video cards in this. not so much a con cause if you dont like it you have the option to swap it out for more cooling, ram or storage space which is a very big plus!

SLI wont work unless youre plugged into power otherwise it severely throttles your comp

screen is 1080p but it could be better, still notice screen tear even with v-sync D:

Other Thoughts: power supply on this bad boy is gigantic! the largest ive seen!

aside from all this i got this brand new for 840 bucks and it showed up in three days with the free shipping (i placed the order on sunday night and received it at my door wednesday afternoon!) you cant beat that! more than satisfied with this laptop even tho it heats up to what i feel is unnecessary temps, but i can live with gaming at medium settings no problem after all its suppose to be a replacement portable desktop in my situation. though it does run some games as well if not better than my desktop and that is a beast on its own!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop, good price

Pros: Frankly, it's beautiful, and has amazing specs for its price. the screen is sharp, and clear. Everything runs great!

Cons: Implents UEFI boot tomfoolery. Frankly, for this it looses an egg because its the worst invention since the dawn of time.

It can be disabled, but you pretty much have to be a power user to figure that out. After that wiping windows 8 and installing 7 went perfectly fine.

1 out of 5 eggsUsed the laptop a few times *DEAD*

Pros: awesome while it lasted - quick - plays games well - battery life was longer than expected.

Cons: apparently no life to it I've owned this laptop foe about 4 months with use of about <= 2 months. Very disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Used this laptop maybe 20x has some issues where it seemed to get excessively hot. Turned the laptop off after being on for a couple hours and now the power button illuminates when the power button is fans or noise appear to be running.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice to Quality ratio great

Pros: - backlit keyboard (even though details say otherwise) this should be standard on laptops these days, its a very cheap addition to any laptop
- "feels" high quality, brushed black metal feels great
- curved keys feel great and keep your key presses on the right keys for gaming
- has great balance of power to the price, will it struggle on Ultra on BF4? yes, but it can play it at ultra with "acceptable" rates, plays on medium settings just great (more in other comments about graphic performance)
- Screen colors are fantastic
- Much smaller than standard Brick gaming laptops (not a razer blade pro thats for certain still)

Cons: - Smaller screen, I bought it knowing this was the 15 screen model, great for portable options, but you can just connect a real 24 inch monitor via the HDMI port and play your FPS with the more needed resolution
- Still pretty heavy, but lighter than the bricks im used to
- that edge your wrists do wrest on, seen other people comment on it, does have a sharp feel to it. You won't cut yourself on it, but not a smooth transition from the brushed metal to the plastic outer edge. Seems like something that could be fixed easily, but still not worth an egg drop for the hardware specs
- power brick is kinda big, but nothing aweful
-Windows 8? they added a start menu now, so its not so terrible anymore

Other Thoughts: Graphics performance is what you pay for, with the disk drive swapped out for an additional card lets you game at qualities you want from a computer that costs $900.
Plays Diablo III, League, Dota II, Counter Strike GO, WOW, elder scrolls online at highest settings with a steady 30-60 FPS
I play BF4 at medium to keep my frame rates smooth for accurate playing, but it still handles ultra until explosions go off in all different directions, drops to 15 fps at points, on a 15 inch screen I really don't care playing at medium setting, still look as good or better than current gen consoles.

Over all great portable solution and can act in as a decent gaming desktop just by plugging in screen, keyboard, and mouse. I mostly play CS, League, and BF4, and its priced exactly for what you get, UNFORTUNATELY is the only brand that has priced it correctly! Took a chance with lenovo and very satified with the turn out

4 out of 5 eggsIts a good laptop for sure

Pros: Dual Graphics
Keyboard Light
Fast CPU (i7 version) Im sure the i5 will work best too.
Upgraded the ram to 16

Cons: Battery Life
You have to be plugged in to have dual cards working

Other Thoughts: This is a good ALL AROUND laptop. Use for gaming and school and suits my needs perfectly. I use an external mouse and have it always plugged in.

I have no issues with the wireless card plus the 1tb SSHD boots up in secs from initial load.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Fast. Runs crysis 2 with everything on ultra but the shaders and it looks gorgeous, so it will pretty much run anything else I can throw at it. Back lit keyboard looks and feels nice. Mostly brushed aluminum chassis so it doesn't feel/look cheep.

Cons: A couple Blue screens of death out of the box, narrowed it down to a power management driver. Haven't had any problems since updating the drivers. Touch kinda presses down too far, which doesn't really bother me at all since I use a mouse most the time.

Other Thoughts: Windows 8.1 really isn't too bad once you get used to navigating it. Haven't really run into any imperative compatibility issues either. One annoyance is that I had to call microsoft to activate windows since it said my product key was already in use, took about 5 minutes to sort out though.
