Pros: This computer has run very well for me. Very fast, and has been the toast of lyre. Well, it really has run all of my games as well as I could hope. Great bang for buck. I've recommended this laptop to all of my friends.

Cons: none

Pros: Newegg. They handled my RMA within a week. The lady who I talked to on the phone to issue my RMA was extremely nice and very courteous. Newegg has the best customer service around.

Cons: The laptop that I recieved worked well for the few days that it did work. After several days of playing some games on it, the mouse stopped working. The screen would flicker when set to a certain display brightness. And the plastic bezel around the keyboard started to peel up around the escape key. When it was working, it would get too hot for my comfort. While playing skyrim on 1080p with ultra settings, it would get up to almost 90 degrees celsius. That has got to shorten the life of the system with the temperature being that high. I returned the laptop and recieved a refund in around a week. Ill say again that Newegg's customer service is awesome. Thats the only reason I gave this review 3 eggs.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth It

Pros: It's cheap for everything that's packed into it.

The sli is nice, but is also one of its major downfalls.

Cons: Laptop get's hot fast and not just because of the SLI setup. I even used a cooling pad to try to offset the heat it was creating, but nothing could cool it down. Now while taking advantage of two 755m's the laptop becomes very very hot. I don't at all advise you to use it for anything that's demanding of the gpu.

Audio drivers were terrible from the start and wouldn't work with headphones, so I had install a different one.

Laptop would commonly freeze making it absolutely inoperable, also making the audio would go out of whack. The only way to resolve the issue would be to manually power it off.

Not a fingerprint magnet, but a terrible grease one!

Battery is stuck charging at around 60% and that was even with tweaking the power plan and lenovo's energy management. 2nd time I had that issue. I was able to resolve it the first time.

I would sometimes have the computer hooked up with a Ethernet cord, but wouldn't could any connection, because the laptop would keep switching from wifi to ethernet. You have to turn off wifi altogether to use it via ethernet.

It took 7 days to ship back..An entire week when it's only supposed to take a max of 3.

Other Thoughts: In conclusion I really can't recommend this laptop at all. I'd advise you to go with the Newer Lenovo Y50 with the i5 that is only a little bit more.

4 out of 5 eggsA+ Budget Gaming Laptop

Pros: -For the price, very good performance. I honestly couldn't ask for more in a mobile platform. Everyday usage is on par with a powerful i7 desktop. Gaming at 1080p on med-high settings with respectable fps.

-Sleek design, doesn't draw attention in public like most gaming laptops, looks like a high-end business PC.

-Adjustable keyboard backlit keys, so incredibly useful if you work/game in the dark.

-not too much bloatware, what was present was easily uninstalled.

Cons: -massive power brick

-if you are one of the few who still relies on optical media(CD/DVDs) good luck finding where to buy the optional cd drive. Just get an external.

-could use another USB port or two. 3 just seems unacceptable for a laptop of this size

-doesn't feel flimsy, but it also doesn't seem like it will hold up to much abuse. Not really the kind of laptop that should be tossed around in a bag everywhere you go.

Other Thoughts: This laptop isn't going to blow anyone away, but it is by far the best bang for the buck i could find. For anyone looking to spend less than $900 on a gaming laptop, i would highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsLenovo Y510P

Pros: The construction is of high quality. The brushed aluminum casing gives it extra backbone that a lot of laptops seem to lack. The i5 processor along with the dual graphics cards is just right for just about all of the games I plan to play. Others have also spoken about how well the speakers performed, and they do not disappoint.

Cons: The cons are basically what you'd expect from a high performance laptop like this one; it gets hot while gaming and the battery life isn't too good either, but with a good cooling pad set up next to a wall outlet, you should be good to go. Another thing that you should expect going in is just how awful windows 8 really is. No matter how you slice it, it's just terrible. There is an update you need to download to get SLI to work, but this should only be a problem if your computer knowledge is less than average. Other people have complained about not being able to pickup wifi signal, but I have had no problems with this at all. The trackpad isn't as bad as some people say it is, but it definitely has a learning curve to it. Once you get through that, it is a cake walk.

Other Thoughts: Well, as long as you don't completely pick apart the laptop, it is really really nice. I have read reviews that have said this has a "squishy" keyboard and that the aluminum has some sharp burs on it. Neither of these things are an issue. This laptop is made better than any other that I have ever handled, but it also performs amazingly. I just feel as if people try to find things that are wrong when there's nothing to be upset about. I realize that you pay a lot of money for a laptop so you expect the best, but something will never be truly great if you pick apart every aspect of it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming laptop, just runs hot.

Pros: -$820
-Thin and light for an SLI gaming laptop
-Very powerful GPUs and CPU
-Bright and colorful 1080p display
-Backlit keyboard!!

Cons: -Runs very hot (GPUs both run at 42C idle, 79C heavy load)
-Fingerprint/oil magnet
-Sharp edges

Other Thoughts: What really bugs me about this is that there is absolutely no way to control the GPU fans (I have even checked the BIOS). The fans don't even kick up to 100% when temps get to 80C+!! I have tried EVGA Precision x, MSI Afterburner, and Speedfan. None let you control the GPU fans. The only way to control the fans is with the Lenovo Power Management software pre-installed on the computer. It only gives you a "Dusting" option which pulses both of the GPU fans to 100% for a few minutes. So if you want to game and not have sky high temps, then you have to run your games in a window and constantly click the "Dust" option every few minutes.

4 out of 5 eggsGood machine

Pros: Lenovo is a pretty good brand. The laptops I purchased for work were always Thinkpads, and it's nice to see them branching out into more powerful machines that can do multimedia.

I upgraded to this from an m14x which was starting to struggle in modern games, and I'm glad that I did. This notebook shreds FFXIV on high laptop settings, both windowed and full screen. I personally haven't seen any heat issues as yet, but I did upgrade to an SSD and a fresh, non-lenovo bloat Win 8.1. It's possible that my clean install and drive have helped the performance. I didn't go above 75c in FFXIV without a cooling pad. With a pad it was around 69-70.

I think that they may have updated the model, because when I was researching this laptop folks were talking about cutting holes in the case. My laptop came with a large vent on the bottom, and the gpus are vented on either side. So maybe it got a refresh - I don't know. It's a solid design.

Cons: Really, the only cons I see with this notebook is the trackpad and the chiclet style keyboard. I feel there's really no excuse for a bad trackpad and a bad keyboard. Yes, it's a notebook and yes, for gaming most of us will be using a modern mouse and maybe hook up a keyboard as well... but That doesn't give companies a free pass to put terribly designed components on a machine. Still, it's only worth knocking off one egg because everything else about the notebook performs so well. The final thing that I really don't like is the placement of the USB slots, but I guess there's really no other place for them. It's just awkward to have a usb port right at the front right where I use my mouse. I route the cable around the back to use one of the ports on the left. I can't really see a use for this port unless maybe you use a wireless controller and put the tiny nub there. Anything else is too obnoxious for the average right-handed user.

Other Thoughts: They made a budget gaming machine possible. It destroys my old alienware which cost me double what I paid for this one, and the m14x is only a couple years old. I like the ultrabay SLI - what a great idea. This way you can still use a dvd player if you want, and more gaming power when you need it. I hope that they continue this line. I'm tempted to get rid of my desktop altogether. Yes, this laptop performs THAT well.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming laptop for the price with some correctable issues

Pros: amazing speeds, great price. SLI works great but need to activate out of box. Runs everything I have in SLI. Screen that comes with is bright and crisp and 1920x1080 res is great. Bluetooth also a great feature.

Cons: I was first upset with this laptop because it kept crashing on me. I reinstalled drivers a lot and everytime I kept messing with the video drivers it kept crashing. as a last resort I decided to reinstall the updated video card bios for the SLI from Lenovo. It said it was the same version I was flashing but i did it anyways and it fixed all my problems with crashing. must have been corrupted files that came with the laptop. dock 1 egg for my inconvenience but the computer works like a charm now. have to use a cooling pad tho.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: Let me start by saying that I'm a filthy casual when it comes to gaming, and my tech knowledge isn't astounding. I basically know what specs to look for and how to update drivers, and some other various small things. About average knowledge when it comes to that sort of thing.

Now that that's out of the way, I love this laptop. I use it daily for several hours to play games and generally browse the internet.

-It's fast.
-Plays games like Witcher 2, Dishonored, and similar on high graphics.
-The speakers are fantastic for a laptop.
-Backlit keyboard is a definite plus.

Now, let me address some issues people have been having in the reviews:

-The touchpad: it really isn't that bad. I found it intuitive, and while a bit of a pain, it really isn't a deal breaker. If you're using this for gaming, it's pretty silly to use the touchpad, find yourself a nice wireless mouse. But I do use the touchpad for browsing the internet.
-The keyboard: Obviously, it's going to be quite small compared to a regular keyboard. And while the shift and backspace keys on the right are absolutely tiny, nearing the size of regular keys, I took to it rather quickly. It doesn't "mush" to me and I don't have to press down hard, like other reviewers claim to.
-The battery melts away while gaming: that is a given. You can't expect to play an intensive game unplugged.
-The heat: Any time you game, you're going to need a cooling pad. It's the same with all laptops, honestly. They get hot, and if they aren't cooled properly, or don't have a good cooling pad, you're going to fry it.
-The ventilation: Someone complained about this in the reviews, and I'm not really sure why. It has the standard vent on the left, and another on the right where the second graphics card is. It also has a large vent on the bottom going nearly side to side in the back. I've have zero issues with it getting hot so far.

Cons: -Charger is literally brick sized.
-The screen has a bit of a blue glow that gave me an awful headache/eye strain. I downloaded f.lux, though, and that fixed the problem for me.
-The edges are a bit sharp while typing, but it isn't a deal breaker for me.
-There's a learning curve to the touchpad.
-It definitely IS an oil/fingerprint magnet.

Other Thoughts: Overall, if you're just an average Joe that enjoys gaming, but aren't over the top crazy about it, this laptop will definitely suit you. It's the best price for everything you get.

I'll have to agree with another reviewer in saying, that obviously, this isn't the best laptop in the world, but it is the best for a practical gamer on a budget. I paid $820, and I'm incredibly pleased with it.

If I have any issues with it, I'll likely try to update this review.
