4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Very nice GFX card, can play most games on medium-high (can play SWTOR and WoW on high)
- Screen is very clear, touch screen is amazing and responsive
-Back-lit keyboard (can be turned off) is nice (especially at this price)
- 1tb HDD space is great
- it is possible to remove optical drive and install SSD

Cons: - Some issues with wifi connectivity (randomly disconnects on occasion)
- Chrome sometimes crashes or freezes (might me win 8, or just me)

Other Thoughts: Love this laptop. I have built my own desktop and owned multiple laptops prior to this one and have to say, this takes the cake. It is magnificent for it's price.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: The touch screen is really nice for gaming (MMO) and can make scrolling through websites a lot easier. Windows 8 is sleek and organized once you get used to it. Processing speed is ace.

Cons: While Windows 8 is nice when you get used to it... it does take some getting used to. I actually had to look up exactly how to do several things on my own computer. Also, some of the apps for the start screen are limited as to what they can do (IE, skype/messenger/tumblr).

The touch screen can be a complete pain, sometimes not registering if you're trying to open a new tab/go to a new tab in a net browser. Furthermore, it is extremely over sensitive for gaming (you can tap the screen to open something/use something, but heaven forbid you want to rotate the camera angle).

I've also noticed that the laptop gets a little hot in the middle after about 45 minutes on a game (I have run LotRO on it and Project Zero IV for WII). Still, the heat is only a minor thing and as long as you don't have it on a flat surface it shouldn't be an issue.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy this computer again. Best specs for the price, hands down.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Laptop

Pros: Fast, Works well, Build Solid, Compact for it's size, Looks good. Overall i'm happy with the purchase. It was my first computer i didn't build so i had a lot of hang-ups on getting a laptop. the touche screen is super responsive and works really well.

Cons: I have had issues with wireless connectivity at times when the computer was unplugged (connecting and dropping signal regularly) . I recently received an update for the wireless program but i haven't tested it as of yet. Battery life is weak but is as advertised. I also have issues with Windows 8 but that's nothing specific to the laptop itself.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but has a few quirks.

Pros: Everything. It's a small sleek notebook, so I didn't expect or want a large screen or a full size RJ45 built into the side, and a VGA out too.

Read all the specs first. I think the touch screen works great, I like the backlit keyboard as well as the keys. WiFi works great with good reception.

Cons: First, I own an Acer V5-571P-6473 which is the i5 version, but shares the same chassis. The chassis is the rub you should be aware of. You will never be able to update the HDD that it ships with. If you think I’m mistaken, download the service manual. You literally have to disassemble the whole thing. The one part you may actually want to upgrade. I bought a 7200 1TB drive to have a little more speed and discovered the hard way that it would end up as a USB3 external drive.

One other issue turns out to be Windows 8 issue. Again, look it up because it sounds ridiculous. Windows 8 boots to fast. Seriously, this is a common problem. So fast you can’t get into the BIOS (F2) or recovery with a key press. After less than 8 weeks having it and talking with support twice I sent it in for repair. There was nothing wrong. You need to use shutdown /o to get into the bios or the built in Windows 8 recovery app that will do the same thing.

Finally the backup and image software is useless with their version of the BIOS. So here’s the deal. Create an image when in EUFI mode. To restore, go into bios to change to legacy. It won’t boot from a CD or USB if it’s not in legacy mode. Restore the image. Go back into bios and switch back to UEFI. Better be fast with the F2 key, you have maybe a half second to hit it just right. Oddly the Microsoft recovery disk will boot even in UEFI mode… strange. Buy Acronis or something similar for backup images

Other Thoughts: Very happy I bought it. Nice laptop, good value, light. Newegg was great as always. Just a few quirks.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Laptop

Pros: Dedicated GPU
Intel Core i7
1TB hard drive
This is a good laptop and the cheapest touchscreen/gpu combo I've seen.

Cons: The gpu 710m is based off the 620m, not the most powerful for gaming but does make multitasking easier, but not necessary since it has the i7, this laptop is over priced in my opinion and for $1k it still doesn't have a backlit keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Easily could've been an ultra book if they put an SSD in there. Someone please make a touchscreen windows 8 laptop with a 650m or 640m gpu and a smaller hard drive with up to 8GBS of supported memory for under $800, that laptop would sell like hot cakes.
