1 out of 5 eggsDo not purchase extended warranty

Pros: Currently can't think of anything positive to say about this laptop.

Cons: power adapter plugin is weak and will not hold the power adapter properly. Speakers are not loud even at high setting

Other Thoughts: I purchased the extended warranty. When I sent the computer in to have the power adapter and speaker issue resolved, the extended warranty company replaced the hard drive and put on a temporary windows system that needs activation, and said they fixed the power/speaker issue. (The laptop still has the power/speaker issue.) To activate the new windows because they replaced the hard drive, which didn't have an issue in the first place and I did not authorize the "fix" of the hard drive, you need the windows recovery CD, which for a price they can provide as "the warranty only covers hardware". I would strongly suggest not buying the extended warranty offered with this laptop and going to a local PC repair shop instead.

1 out of 5 eggsWell, it LOOKED like a good laptop...

Pros: Sleek, lightweight, extra long charging cord. Great graphics when it actually works...

Cons: So, first off, I received this laptop without Windows 8 installed 2 months ago.. It actually had no OS at all. After a fight with 3 Acer customer service reps, I got expedited shipping of the Windows 8 OS discs. A week after receiving the computer, I can actually use it...Fine. Had OS installed by a professional, and for a few days, it worked great. Now, however, there is no sound coming from this laptop whatsoever, despite a system restore, and re- installing the sound drivers. The sound had cut out a few times before, but had always come back on. Not this time. Also, the computer now blue screens at every opportunity, and gives multiple different system memory errors. In other words, this comp is going back, and I'm getting my money back if at all possible. Also, the Chiclet style keys tend to stick and result in typo's, and the CD Drive tray is incredibly flimsy, and the exterior collects dirt and dust like crazy. So, I'm getting it fixed, because its under warranty, and then it's getting sold and I'm buying a Dell. ACER, you SUCK! I will NEVER buy an Acer again, no matter how fabulous the specs. Great graphics or otherwise.

Other Thoughts: Frankly, the refurbished dell studio I had worked better than this computer for less than a quarter of the price.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: -It plays all of the games I want on highest settings with no problems

-Sleek, cool design

-Windows 8 is actually not half bad, it just takes getting used to

-Fast processor, good video card, good RAM, and a pretty standard 500gb HDD

Cons: -Battery is kinda meh, but for me I don't usually go places where my laptop is needed so I always have it plugged in.

-Comes with pre-installed bloatware that no one wants. Seriously, Acer, stop doing this. However, it's not bad enough to knock off an egg.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you update your drivers when you get this laptop!

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect Laptop

Pros: - Specs are great for the price
- Runs most games at Medium/High at 60 FPS
- Sleek and Modern design
- Boots up extremely fast
- Pretty good for video editing and rendering
- Keyboard is beautiful

Cons: - Track Pad isn't very good at all (Not very responsive)
- Mouse buttons are connected at the middle, making it awkward when you need to right click often.
- Glossy body loves to pick up fingerprints.
- Would've been nice to have 1920x1080 screen

Other Thoughts: Overall I definitely love this laptop. I got it $709 so I'm pretty happy. Using a wired mouse (which I would use anyways) alleviates the issue with the track pad and mouse buttons. Windows 8 is kind of odd but after re-installing the start button I actually enjoy it more than windows 7.

4 out of 5 eggsawesome specs but horrible touchpad

Pros: -Graphics
-Nice and slick design
-almost everything

Cons: -COMPLETELY unusable touchpad

Other Thoughts: So I looked at this laptop and read a whole bunch of reviews on newegg and other websites I decided to get it from here (It's $100 cheaper than anywhere else). Newegg sent it to me the next day and I received it two days later (even though I selected newegg free shipping).

Everything seemed fine. I ran starcraft II on extreme and played online and the first game I played I was hitting b/w 60-90 fps (although later in another game I only got 30 fps). The main issue is the touchpad!!

I downloaded drivers and changed the sensitivity and it's driving me mad! I can still use it by disabling touching but I feel annoyed for spending $800 on this thing and not having a decent touchpad. My brother's touchpad on his $300 dell is absolutely amazing compared to this. With tapping feature on, the mouse will often 1) click random things while scrolling or 2) if you do click something, it will drag it or click it 50 times

If anyone has any idea how to fix it please let me know

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -extremely fast.
-i7 processor can overclock to 3.4
-Newegg is wrong, this laptop can be upgraded to 16gb of ram.
-Runs games perfectly (WoW, Bf3, PlanetSide 20)
-Windows 8 isn't as bad as everyone is saying.

Cons: -screen isn't the best. Kind of dull but it's not horrible.
-came with outdated drivers. Had to update the gfx card and wireless adapter drivers.
-came with a lot of unnecessary stuff installed. Wildtangent games and such.
-3 hour battery life while gaming.

Other Thoughts: Overall It did not disappoint. It is a gaming machine. Very powerful.

2 out of 5 eggsMissing OS-Laptop shipped without inspection.

Pros: It is beautifully built solid laptop, with great specs for the price. Bought it for the Graphics card and I7 processor, but have no idea if it works. Great screen, with good clarity.

Cons: i received this laptop without Windows 8 installed, and am having to wait a week to get the disc sent. It actually does not have any OS at all. This laptop was obviously not inspected by anyone at any point. Given that, I'm not certain it will work even after I install the OS. After a battle with Acer customer service, I am receiving the discs overnight.

Other Thoughts: Highly displeased. I thought Newegg tested these products before they were shipped.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The laptop was very fast. It started up quickly and played games with no lag issues at highest settings

Cons: The biggest con I had was that during gameplay the screen would go black forcing me to alt-tab out and then back in, sometimes it would freeze altogether and I would have to force-close. Acer tech support speaks off of cue cards and were not much help, and the upper level support people are extremely rude. I RMA'd the first one I received and Newegg discovered a defect and sent me a new one. However, the second one had the same issue and I was forced to RMA for a refund. I loved the idea of a good gaming laptop for a reasonable price, but there were too many issues between drivers not working and gameplay issues for this laptop to be recommended.

I also think that windows 8 is a terrible operating system, I used it for over a month and I could not stand it. I only include this because the laptop comes with windows 8 pre-installed on it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: Powerful computer for the price. Great Speakers for a laptop.

Cons: Touchpad buttons are a bit odd, they are connected in the middle, so sometimes they are difficult to press if your finger is near the inside edge of the button. One or two more USB ports would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: This is a great little computer for the price. It's taken every game I can throw at it so far (had some issues, but I think this is more software than hardware). Windows 8 is a good OS, most reviewers (on this and other laptops) don't bother giving it a decent chance. Fairly intuitive, just spend some time with it. These are the loudest speakers I've ever had on a laptop. Love it! The touchpad is a bit odd, but I plug in a wireless mouse most of the time, so it's not much of an issue. I do wish there were a couple more USB ports, as there are only two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port. Once I plug my mouse into one 2.0 port, I only have one left. Not much of an issue, and if it really bothers me, I can buy a hub, but another one would've been nice. Can't really ding my rating for these two minor issues though. Highly recommend this laptop!

I can't comment on the availability of extra RAM slots. I haven't popped the bottom off as some reviewers have.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: The computer works great. No problems

Cons: Windows 8 is hard to use with older games as well as anything and everything I do on a day to day basis.

Other Thoughts: If I had known how much win8 sucks I would have bought a used win 7
