Pros: Great ability to multi task because of the i7 Haswell processor. Video is great, the screen gives a nice picture and has good refresh rates to it. Full 1080p resolution for watching or streaming HD videos. Can handle anything l have tossed at it.
Cons: Cannot update video drivers directly from NVidia. If you do the graphics chip will not run properly and you have to uninstall the driver, re-install the older one from Acer's website.
Pros: This has really good value for the price. I'm a moderate gamer, and all of my games run very well on this machine. So do music-making programs and programming IDEs. The display is great, and fingerprints hardly show. High-quality video plays flawlessly. The built-in webcam is decent for the occasional Skype video call with family. The microphone sounds a bit muffled, as is expected from a built-in webcam. Overall, this machine is great for an occasional gamer who also deals with 3D rendering, programming, music-making, etc.
Cons: Personally I can't stand the trend of buttonless touchpads. I find it impossible to consistently right-click. Also, scrolling is inconsistent between different programs: some will jump across the screen with the slightest movement whereas others go way too slow. Updating drivers and tweaking settings did nothing to resolve this. Of course, I typically use a mouse, but it would be nice to have a functional touchpad for when I am on the move. Fingerprints really do show on the casing, so carry around cleaning wipes if you want to maintain some degree of sanity.
Other Thoughts: Windows 8 has its issues of course, but I knew that when I bought it. It takes several hours to tweak all the settings. I find that installing a start menu restorer fixes most of my problems with it. Also, I managed to install Ubuntu 13.10 without too much trouble, and I haven't found any major issues with it so far.
Pros: Great for gaming -- hasn't had a problem with any game I've tried to run including TF2, L4D2, Lord of the Rings Online. I've tried more intensive games as well, but I honestly don't have a lot of time for games these days.
It runs Visual Studio 2013 really well and hasn't had any slow downs for any workload that I've thrown at it.
I'm also using it to record digital audio and it is able to run the applications without even sweating. The 1TB hard drive makes it ideal to handle mixes.
The build is very durable and it holds up well to daily wear.
Cons: I wish the keyboard wasn't recessed as much since it makes pressing keys on the lowest row a little problematic at times. There are a lot of keystrokes in both games and development tasks that require use of the lower keys a lot and I often find myself missing them.
I wish Acer had went ahead and updated the image these machines are based on to Windows 8.1. Updating is quirky as I read that Acer recommends you uninstall the video drivers before attempting the upgrade. I did this and went well as I didn't have any problems.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this laptop to replace an aging desktop, but I wanted to be sure I had something that would travel with me. This laptop fits that need very well. I only wish they had a similarly speced model with a 15" inch screen as it can be a little bulky.
Lots of people complain about Windows 8, but with the improvements that are being made with each update, it is become a very good OS for even desktop/laptop users who don't have a touch experience. I have Windows 8.1 Update 1 on the laptop and I don't miss Windows 7 at all.
Pros: This is a great machine for what you need if your a college gamer like i am. It plays league of legends, Skyrim, civilization and a bunch of other games that i love. most are seamless however load times are nothing spectacular. The fact that its windows 8 means next to nothing and i rarely use that feature of the computer. however the keys are very nice just dont try to pull them off like i did. also this is a very fragile machine. so if you get it be very gentle. (ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAY LEAGUE)
Cons: One of the problems with this computer is that it seams to have trouble with updating its graphics card. the Nvidia 750m is not as powerful as it sounds however i wouldn't go saying its terrible ether. Also the battery life while the graphics card is running is around ONE HOUR. without playing games its double that.
Other Thoughts: I would search for other options. In my opinion this machine is not worth the price. I would say its closer to 800$ rather than the 930$ i paid for it.
Pros: Extremely fast, large amount of RAM, dedicated GeForce card that can run most games on medium. The screen is 1080p and looks amazing. Big,but not too heavy to have on your lap for a while. A great buy at an even better price. Acer has hit one out of the park here.
Cons: Shorter battery life than some other comparable laptops. Of course, most are Intel HD graphics only, not having a dedicated GeForce card as well. Fingerprint MAGNET! Touch it and you want to wipe it down with a lint free cloth every time you do. Never seen a laptop take and hold so many fingerprints as this one. Windows8, but that is a common issue with every new laptop nowadays.
Pros: Had for about a month now. Does HD Video Editing flawlessly, nice keyboard, amazing screen and for less than $1k. You would have to spend another $500 on a laptop and to get anything significantly better. The only game I've played so far on it is League of Legends. With frames uncapped I was getting 120 fps max and it would dip down to 70-80 on teamfights. I keep it capped at 60 and it never dips from there and still stays cool. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does with higher end games, but I'm the type to only play one game at a time so that'll be a while. I do HD video editing all day and this thing is literally 10 times faster rendering video than my old rig with an i3. A 10 minute render is now about 1 minute.
Cons: Most people would gripe about Windows 8 but I honestly don't mind it at all just upgrade to 8.1. Even though the exterior appears to be a non-gloss finish, it still shows fingerprints everywhere.
Other Thoughts: Also very good for just watching HD movies & Netflix etc.

Pros: very nice, fast, not lacking in any way, im not a big gamer so i wont attest to that but my resource heavy programs do great, has extra 2.5" drive bay, though you will need to buy a hdd caddy, also has msata slot, and two open ram slots leftover
Cons: really hate all the crapware that computers come with. also no recovery disks, although it does seem acer loaded up some recovery programs. i use acronis true image myself but i still feel a computer should come with os/driver disks as a failsafe
