3 out of 5 eggsWorks great now

Pros: Speed, screen size, fairly light.

Cons: Had same issue as others with wireless, I noticed right after I moved it from the office to the house, So I figured something must have come loose, I simply pulled the screw out covering the wireless adapter on the bottom of the unit and voila! one of the antenna leads (white lead) was not connected, I just reconnected it and verified the other lead was firmly connected, reinstalled the cover and everything was good again...

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to start using

Cons: Download capability on wireless

Other Thoughts: The laptop I received could not download at anything faster than .6 MBps when using a wireless connection. I tried all the fixes suggested by Acer's help people, and nothing fixed it. I sent the computer back. I am posting this because I found many other user comments online about the same problem on similar laptops, but none on Newegg - if I had known this flaw was possible, I would not have chosen this product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop

Pros: Lightweight, powerful, clean look, easy to use, HDMI out, good size HD.

Cons: 1. Keyboard is not back lit, but that helps with battery life.
2. Lots of "Fluff" programs, I uninstalled them easily.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this laptop for my mother, who only uses computers for bills and documents. She really likes the weight of the machine. I would recommend this laptop for anyone, maybe not gamers but everyone else.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Machine

Pros: Has just the right combination of specs. I'm just thankful that Acer (one of a small number of mfgs that) didn't go exclusively Windows 8 (which makes Vista look magnificent) and still offers new models with Windows 7 (the best OS MS has released to date). Not all of us live on Facebook and Twitter and actually need to get actual work done. Kudos Acer!

Cons: Not much. I usually replace the stock 5400RPM drive with a WD Black 7200RPM anyway, and double the RAM, but sheesh we could have used a little more clock speed. But really, with the upgrades, it does a very good job!

Other Thoughts: Really, the choice of Windows 7 machines is very, very tiny, so I honestly appreciate Acer very much for keeping 7 on some. 7 has almost 48% market share STILL, and Win 8 barely 6% - it's pretty apparent it's a total dud. Heck, after all these years WinXP still has 32%!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good little laptop

Pros: Has a decent clocked i5, and a WD 500Gb HD. Windows 7 was preinstalled with a fairly standard bios. 4GB ram is definitely good enough for a while. The laptop feels quick even after installing my preferred AV/Malware combo of Eset NOD32 Antivirus and Malwarebytes Pro. Definitely a little better than what was on the shelves at the local stores for the same money. Vanilla Intel build, with HD 4000 Graphics, but also not cluttered with junkware or Windows 8. Trackpad is accurate and works well. Keyboard has an average feel to it compared to other chicklets, and spaced out with room to type.

Cons: Low res screen, which I knew about before purchase, and also some starting issues have been an issue with my friend who borrows the laptop as well. I have had no startup issues at all, so I am unsure if it was just operator error. Will post back if it continues. I personally disabled hibernate and just use sleep mode with no trouble, but it could have been a fairly common hibernate issue before I disabled it.

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on gaming ability since it is primarily a work laptop, but casual gaming and flash/java gaming should be no trouble as well as the average MMO. Fast startup, good drive, higher clocked i5. Happy so far.

4 out of 5 eggsDesktop replacements

Pros: Nice size with overall a good feel. Speed and capacity are both good. Size and weight are just about right. Installation and set up went smoothly. Since these are replacing two ageing desktops, there's a bit of getting used to. Networking them into the existing network was easy.

Cons: An awful lot of stuff that we had no interest in came pre-installed. It took a while to get rid of it all.
