5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Laptop

Pros: I had a friend recommend this laptop to me, because he works with an ad agency and they load these things up with adware all the time and break them. I'm extremely satisfied with this laptop. It's able to handle whatever programs I want to run, this isn't a gaming laptop and that's fine. It helps improve workflow by not being able to play big games on it.

This thing is really compact and lightweight, it's so easy to take it anywhere. I have a carrying case for it that holds all the necessary components. It's also really nice to have USB ports on the both sides of the laptop. There's even an SD card reader, really neat for just dumping your camera captures. The battery life on this thing is pretty good too. It laptop doesn't have a lot of power behind it, so you're able to use it for a while before having to plug in. I'd say 4-8 hours, depending on what you're doing.

There are some upgrades that you can put into this such as: installing more RAM and adding an SSD.

Highly recommend this if you want a small laptop.

Cons: It can be a little slow at opening big documents, but what do you expect from such a small laptop?

It would also be cool if it was touchscreen, but you'd have to get a bigger sized laptop, and this size was just what I wanted.

Other Thoughts: After trying out a Chromebook for the first time, I knew I wanted a small laptop to use for whatever. I really liked the size of the Chromebook, but didn't like the operating system or how it can't install or run any programs. This is of both worlds, currently running Windows 10 and can install anything I want.

The first laptop I got, the screen was delivered damaged, but the manufacturer was very good at replacing the damaged unit.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat small laptop for a great price

Pros: Great price, small size that is easy to transport and carry in any bag you carry papers in. Has a VGA port for use with older classroom projectors. Has all the other ports you would need like USB, HDMI and Either net cables. Has enough storage space (500 GB) for most users. Comes with 4 GB of RAM which is twice what other small laptops in this price range come with. Biggest Pro of all is that is has Windows 7!!!!!!!!!!! It also comes with an extra memory slot for an additional 4 GB of Ram, which I also purchased at the same time I purchased this laptop.

Cons: Not really a con, but this laptop does come with ALOT of Acer bloatware. It is easy to get rid of, so that is why I am not going to take off any eggs in the rating. And the touch pad that you use your fingers on to move the cursor around is a bit jumpy, but once you get used to the touch pad, and you adjust the cursor speed in settings, this jumpiness seemed to go away. I decided to use a wireless mouse with this laptop, so the touch pad is not a problem for me. And the processor is a bit slow at only 1.60 GHz, so any gamers out there, this laptop is not for you. But it is fine for doing actual work on, which is why I bought it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this laptop for doing work, not trying to play games. And for work, it is great! It comes with an open memory slot, so I installed an extra 4 GB of RAM, which really helped with multitasking, and running multiple programs at once. This laptop is very easy to carry around, and when it is closed, the length and width are the same size as a piece of 8.5 x 11 paper, which makes it really easy to slip this laptop into any bag you use to carry around your work. Also, because it comes with a VGA port, I can connect this laptop to the older overhead projectors that still have the old VGA inputs. For the price this is a very good value in a small portable laptop, and once you add in an extra 4 GB of RAM, you have a really nice usable laptop for all your day to day activities. And best of all it comes with Windows 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Little Computer

Pros: Nice Little computer. It has Windows 7 (Not 8.1)! It ran my Christmas show this season when my bigger laptop fried. No issues, it worked every time exactly the way I needed it to.

Cons: Has a hard drive. Wished it had only an SSD, but for the price, what do I expect!

Other Thoughts: I bought two laptops this last month. One with windows 8.1 and only SSDs and this one with a hard drive and Windows 7. Out of the two the other one is driving me nuts because of windows 8.1. I have nothing against the speed, size and other attributes of the other computer. I suppose I will learn how to navigate 8.1, but right now it is causing heart burn!

4 out of 5 eggsNice little lap top

Pros: Its 11.6' which is exactly what I was looking for. Very light weight, so I'm able to carry it around. The main reason I purchased this laptop is because it is windows 7, I hate windows 8. I like that it has like a stand in the bottom, so the computer doesn't overheat. My daughter uses it also and she loves it so far.

Cons: The mouse pad is kind of rough, sometimes it gets stuck. The audio is very low, my samsung 5 phone is louder than this laptop. This problem could be easily solve with a some good quality speakers. I've had it for almost a week and when I turn it on it has taken at least 10 minutes to start because of "updates", this is rather annoying when you need the laptop to start immediately.

Other Thoughts: It is a good compact starter laptop. I'm on a budget and this was a great deal.

4 out of 5 eggsAcer v5 is nice little laptop

Pros: Small, Light, quiet.

Cons: Battery shipped is not the one in pictures and makes this laptop sit up 1 3/4" high (thick) so its much thicker than advertised. The pictures show a thin flat battery, thats not what was shipped with the unit. I called and they said to call Acer. I think its New Eggs responsibility to sell and ship the right product.

Other Thoughts: New Egg should replace the battery and ship a new OEM flat battery to meet the specs as advertised.
Otherwsie I like the fact it came with windows 7 because windows 8.1 is not what I would ever want in an operating system and cumbersome for power pros like me.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little laptop

Pros: Lightweight.
Nice screen resolution, and colors and brightness are good.
Snappy performance.
Solid construction.
Runs quiet.
Good battery.
Big hard drive.

Cons: Speakers are not that great.
Touch pad is finicky.
Keyboard is small.
Comes loaded with Acer bloatware.

Other Thoughts: I got this little lappy for a client who needed something for
email, the internet and documents, this fit the bill. The main pros are how light it is, how portable, and it comes with Windows 7.
Once the bloatware is removed and updates done, this little guy starts in 10 seconds flat!!
I can imagine that if you were to put an SSD into this little laptop, it would really move super quick!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Light-Duty Small Notebook

Pros: - Comes with Windows 7
It's pictured with Windows 8, but comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
- Lightweight
- Decent battery life
- Good size keyboard for small hands
- Fairly snappy for light-duty applications

Cons: - Touchpad seems finicky.
It works, just not quite like most I've used before.

Other Thoughts: The MAIN reason I bought this laptop because it comes with Windows 7. Windows 8 is just not the OS for me. This laptop is slightly bigger than your average "netbook" but not as big as your full-size laptop. It makes a good laptop for those that want a small laptop (or have small hands) but don't want to have to squint at the screen to see what it says.

Overall, it is a good light-duty laptop.
