Pros: Great Laptop....

Cons: I have read the other reviews, and most of the problems are with the pre-installed software. Uninstall all the antiviral software and this unit should perform fine!

Pros: when the system constantly crashes there can be not PROS

Cons: Crashing on client constantly now after a month in use. don't buy this product.

Pros: 1) Fast boot
2) Metallic finish design all around
3) 3 USB slots + 1 VGA slot + 1 HDMI slot.
4) Good venting.

Cons: 1) Blue Screen of Death [BSOD] after 2 hours of operating the laptop when only 4 programs were operating, and consistently happens 2-3 times per laptop use [I've only used this laptop for 2 days].

2) If it's not BSOD then it resets randomly, and consistently happens 2-3 times per laptop use [I've only used this laptop for 2 days].

3) 90.5 GB of Hard Disk free space when it was advertised at 128 GB [almost 30% off the advertised GB]

4) EXPENSIVE for how it performs.

4) Apparently the guy below me bought this laptop and has had the same issues! Contacted Acer and they are only willing to "repair" it which was not acceptable to me as the laptop was 2 days old, at least replace it with a non-defective different model.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it, there are better SSD laptops out there. Worst laptop I've ever owned.

Pros: Keyboard lights are pretty

Cons: This laptop is a pile of junk. Since the day it came out the box all it does is BSOD irregularly. No rhyme or reason or no pattern with open applications or eve time of day.

I'm taking it up with Acer and they better offer to replace it because I've seen more reliability out of a rusty classic Mustang.

Pros: Excellent pricing, 8GB RAM, lighted keyboard.

Cons: Obscene amount of disk space taken up with restore partition. Just powered up, shows 41.4 GB used, 49.1 free, total 90.5 GB. By the time I add Office, Lync, and antivirus, I'll have the equivalent of a good sized thumb drive.

I understand rounding a bit when calculating disk space, but losing 30% makes this way too small for my company's use.

Other Thoughts: This one's going back to Newegg.

Pros: Fast and does what I intended it to do.

Cons: Comes with a 128GB SSD drive but I can only access about 90GB of it. It is normal to not get access to all of a Hard Drive but to lose almost 40GB is not good. It is a good thing that I will not be storing a lot of data on it.

Pros: much faster with SSD, quite, great size screen. This will last me a while as my previous laptop was almost 10 years old!

Cons: Just need to get use to the new 2013 office software!

Pros: SSD loads very fast
8G RAM is very nice

Cons: 1. 34G SSD space is used by ghost partition so user ends up with 92G SSD.
2. Won't boot from DVD or any other device even though BIOS is set to boot from DVD first.
3. Trackpad is useless so USB mouse is required
4. Sound is virtually inaudible at the highest setting. The speakers are placed under the unit!!

Other Thoughts: This is an $800 laptop but it is worth a whole lot less!! Forget Acer support ... their tech support folks think that the way to fix everything is to restore the laptop to factory settings!!

Pros: Great pricing for the hardware you get. SSD is extremely responsive compared to the spinning disks in most laptops in this price range.

Cons: Biometric reader isn't innately supported with the factory shipped image of the downgrade to Windows 7 professional instead of the Windows 8.1

Other Thoughts: The SSD came partitioned with the acer backup image hidden in about 30gigs of the drive. If you need storage of more than the OS and a few moderately sized programs plus any pictures or videos, you'll be finding yourself running out of room quickly. Suggest using Cloud storage or a network drive/external drive for non-essential files.
