3 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop if it weren't for the wireless adaptor

Pros: Runs very well and can handle just about any game I try to play on it just fine. It also handled the windows 10 update really well.

Cons: Straight out of the box there were issues with wireless connectivity. When I say issues I mean that being in any room but the one with the router is unbearable. Speeds drop precipitously and connectivity completely stops when more than 2 rooms away. I have tried everything to fix this issue but nothing seems to work. I reinstalled drivers, updated to windows 10, and checked the internal connections.

Other Thoughts: I have ordered an external wireless adapter to hopefully make this laptop mobile again.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great until...

Pros: Screen looks great, plenty of power to do anything you need

Cons: I owned it for a month and a half and then the graphics card broke, it just feels a little flimsy in terms of construction. For any of you who have to deal with Acer customer support. You know just how frustrating it is.

4 out of 5 eggsnitro notebook

Pros: good hardware and design

Cons: It is not as thin as it says. The edge has been made thin but the overall thickness is median as compared to others.

Other Thoughts: better equipped with a ssd.

5 out of 5 eggsworth checking out

Pros: got this a few weeks back as a upgrade from my 3 year old lenovo laptop that struggled to play higher demanding games without locking up "no graphic card just integrated amd a series processor graphics" after a lot of looking around i came across this machine, watched some reviews via youtube and read a lot of the reviews on here and im glad i decided to order this laptop... it handles my games better than i hoped it would, come on now its a 1k$ laptop thats pretty low end for gaming but the laptop doesnt think that its great for my needs,,, fast, great screen , backlit keys are nice, looks good all around and runs great,,, no loud fan noise, very queit machine, im very pleased with this purchase, plus got it on sale saving me like 150

Cons: as others said in reviews the touchpad is blah but not impossible to use but i use a mouse so doesnt bother me

fingerprints were expected but isnt the worst ive seen i whipe my laptop down regularly so no biggy, clean keys are happy keys

speakers sound good but volume max level is poor,, absolute garbage really... like 10% more would have been nice if not 20% to even be close to my lenovo

and gotta mention windows 8, hate you windows 8 just die already so we can get comps not loaded with you

Other Thoughts: budget gaming laptop cost me a couple hundred more than i wanted to spend but totally worth it, need a gaming machine for around 1k check this one out

1 out of 5 eggsAwful Product

Pros: If the hardware worked correctly, this laptop would be absolutely fantastic. It performs incredibly well when it works.

Cons: When I received the laptop I was very pleased with its performance and took issue with only one thing; the internal wifi adapter. While something so small can be overlooked, the issues that followed shortly were incredibly overwhelming. I will start by saying that I am NOT a fan of Windows 8.1. That being said, the OS was hardly my largest problem. The CPU managed to stumble over even the smallest of tasks after only a week of use. Mere days after that, the 1TB HDD stopped responding, causing the system not to recognize any boot device. The worst of it is the complete unwillingness to help demonstrated by Acer Customer Service. I have since returned this expensive paperweight as I refuse to deal with Acer any longer and I would urge anyone reading this to consider alternative options when deciding on a gaming machine.

Other Thoughts: I will also include how incredibly awful the Newegg support team has handled this situation from the beginning. When I purchased this laptop I paid for overnight shipping. It took a grand total of 6 days to receive the machine and Newegg was EXTREMELY uncooperative in meeting a solution for this problem. I was treated as if my concerns were irrelevant and my patronage was of the least importance. Thus, I will no longer be using Newegg for my purchases.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat if you do not look at it.

Pros: Fast

Cons: Hot, Low quality screen, Dead pixels, Fingerprint magnet,
No maintenance panel.

Other Thoughts: Day one stuck white pixel right in the middle of the screen. I reach out to Acer and no response.

Bad product, Bad customer service.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, powerful, cheap, light, quiet and very nice looking

Cons: Track pad sucks but I use a mouse so it doesn't bother me. The casing of the laptop isn't the sturdiest, there's a little bump to the bottom right of the track pad where I can slightly peak through. The front of the laptop scratches easily.

Other Thoughts: If you need the best bang for your buck, get this. It's beautiful, powerful (if you're not too picky, you will still need to run new games on low-med), fast and quiet.
Beware, however, as I had an issue for no good reason verifying my payment. Took 2 weeks to actually settle it and get my laptop, on the 3rd try I ended up paying for the 3 days shipping. Customer service was absolutely awful, slow, abrupt and unhelpful.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid gaming laptop

Pros: Although I've only had it for a short time, I have little to no issues with this laptop. Extremely fast CPU (quad core w/hyperthreading), good GPU and even though it has a 5400 rpm HDD, it still boots quick and it doesn't feel like it takes forever to load games like you would think a 5400 rpm HDD would. The keyboard when plugged in has a red backlight to it. The keys don't feel like you have to mash them down AND so far, the pointer arrow hasn't jumped around the screen like some of the laptops I've had if you type fast and aggressively when coding for example.

Cons: Would like to be able to remove the battery for replacement if needed. Would like for the LAN port to be on the back of the machine versus the right side of it with the HDMI port and the three USB ports. Would like to be able to have the power plug in on the back of the machine as well.

Other Thoughts: My Cons really aren't that bad, they are just personal preference. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase of this gaming laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Excellent specs for the price. I was in the market for a new gaming laptop and this was the one for me. I didn't want to spend over 1,000 and after narrowing down the few laptops with an 860m that were under 1,000 this was my top choice. I've put it to work against many games and haven't had any issues. I game approx 2 hours per day and this thing hasnt had any heat issues or issues running any games. It's very fast, boots in less than 10 seconds even with the 5400rpm HDD.

Cons: I have two issues with this laptop that can possibly be a deal breaker for some but remember this laptop is regularly on sale for 899. GREAT price for what you are getting.

First being that the screen is only OK. Colors are pretty represenitive to what they should be. My biggest issue with the screen is the brightness/contrast. In a game like Insurgency, I have the screen as bright as possiblle as well as the in game settings and I still can't see in some of the darker areas. Maybe that's how the game was intended to be but, I've noticed on most games, I've had to crank the brightness up significantly. Again for 899, I knew I wasn't getting an IPS quality display. It's decent just not super. I would rate the screen seperately as a 3/5.

Second complaint is more of a minor gripe but, all of the accessible ports are on the right side. If you are like me, I use my laptop on a table with wireless mouse and if I am gaming, I hardwire to router if possible plus the power cord, and any other USB devices that may be required. You get a whole bunch of clutter on the right side where you are trying to use a wireless mouse or something it can be annoying. Minor gripe but, thought it was worth mentioning.

Other Thoughts: Buy this if you want a gaming laptop capable of playing the latest games. Albeit, you may not get Ultra settings at of the more demanding games, you can play at a comfortable high across majority of late titles. Example: I can run Insurgency maxed out at 1080p, WoW 1080p maxed, LoL 1080p maxed, Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition High 1080p, Metro Redux 1080p High. Anyways, I think you get the idea, if you want to max out all of the latest games; this isnt the laptop for you. If you want to play at a comfortable med high to high settings on the most demanding games, get it now and don't second guess it.
